  1. I personally have never had the braid come off the roller tip on any rod. The roller tip provides less friction on the line, therefore longer braid life due to less fraying and line damage. IFS

I used to fish that beach near the Port. Now its part of the extensive non-fishing areas that have been introduced
  3. Let's hope that doesn't happen again. Though they do say that bad things happen in 3's!!! IFS
  4. Quick report, Headed out from Botany at around 6:30am with 6 large Slimies in the tank, 2 of which were prime Marlin sized baits Hit up the BB FAD early on with the 8lb gear for 3 small dollies 50 odd cm (lots of fun on the light stuff). The school soon disappeared so it was time for a bit of trolling. Went out to 120m and trolled up the current, then back and through the Peak and some surrounding marks. On the way toward the FAD again a hookup on a Rapala X-RAP saw a 58cm Dollie landed by Dad. A few casts at the FAD saw another one boated same size (Dad again) with many missed hits for me The weather got better as the day went on, minimal wind which made it easy to spot the Dollies 5m underwater, without polarised sunnies. Dollies are here, hope to hear plenty more reports! IFS
  5. Nice bag of fish bud. I'm coming down to woop yo ass in the holidays! Look out IFS
  6. My favourite are the 3" Powerbait Bass Minnows. Killer lures! IFS
  7. Hey Raiders, I saw a pic go up on this site last year of a man who caught a Spotted Mackerel around Jibbon. I caught a 60cm speciment on a squid jig yesterday too. My questions are how long do you think these guys will hang around and will there be any numbers or size to them? And do they come along with Frigate Mackerel or will they still be another month away? IFS
  8. Great fish mate, that Trout is HUGE! IFS
  9. Nice Bag of Fin! Any pics of the Albacore? IFS
  10. Thats a lot of Albacore! One of the best tasting Tuna too. IFS
  11. Nice Flattie Rob, that rod looks pretty dam snazzy! IFS
  12. Good stuff mate! It's always good to get some Flounder in amongst the other regulars, easy to clean and mighty tasty. IFS
  13. Crabs can be a real challenge to get out of the witches hat nets. You have to untangle the buggers aswell as watch out for their big claws. I can tell you that the Blue Swimmers may not be as strong as Muddies, but they have plenty of sharp spikes on them and you sure know about it when they grab onto you IFS
  14. What a fish!!! Absolutely awsome! IFS
  15. We set ours up before we head offshore during the summer and pick them up on the way in. We will set 10 or 14, depending on whether there is 2 or 3 people on the boat. The best way I've found to set the traps with 10 or more being the number, 5 in one spot and the rest in the other. Try single line formation of the pots aswell as a square pattern, with 5 crab traps I reckon you should cover a 100m stretch or 50 square metres. IFS
  16. As said above, it was caught near Puerto Vallarta, Mexico where the charter is run. These guys have won ESPN's Wanna Go Fishing competition with the biggest Tuna 3 times in a row. Sorry Swordy but...........THAT'S WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT! A near 200kg Striped Marlin was also caught, a couple other 45 - 60kg FIN and a 15 odd kilo Dollie were caught aswell. Outfit used is unknown IFS
  17. This is definately the biggest FIN I've ever seen. 164kg of pure power!!! IFS
  18. Great work mate, shame about the lost Kingie but it's all apart of being a Kingfisherman. Keep the reports coming IFS
  19. Great work mate, that's an awsome bait ball Have never seen one like that! IFS
  20. Very nice Trev mate, they certainly fight on the light stuff IFS
  21. Nice work mate, it's such a tease seeing such great Blue Eye being caught. Havn't been able to get out for AGES! IFS
