  1. Good to see you getting some interest in your popper mate. I was watching a DVD the other week and Starlo was catching Whiting, Flathead and Bream on a Rebel Pop-R. It was clear in colour and matched the environment perfectly, I'll be chasing them when summer hits on 4lb When I get my P's mate (2 weeks) I may be able to take the trek out to Mainbar and have a fish IFS
  2. I hate it when that happens, over the summer I'm lucky to get 4-5 sessions in with a jig before it's in tatters. Though that may be the case they still catch squid, even when they look like they're wearing a gillie suit. IFS
  3. Good stuff guys, not long and the arrows will be around in schools Don't you love getting a squid first drop every cast! Keep up the good work IFS
  4. Another option for you mate could be to go with some hidden weight jigheads. That way the plastics will be balanced while sinking and you will get greater action than one that had the same weight jighead on the nose of the plastic. IFS

    Important Lesson

No not THAT LEFT! The other LEFT! IFS
  6. Great stuff mate! About time the Salmon have shown up. IFS
  7. Awsome mate, a healthy little Jewie like that on light line, gotta be stoked Sounds like an action packed day with the Flatties also IFS
  8. What a great day! Though the fish weren't going off, fishing is fishing I guess Looking forward to the next one IFS

    Dolphin

I didn't spot it, though 2 weeks ago I saw a 4m shark (mako or white) cruising under the Captain Cook Bridge. Certainly exciting and great to watch. IFS
  10. Very nice fish mate IFS
  11. I'm a Shimano man, just because they have always been there. My first rod and reel were Shimano and my current combo's are both Shimano outfits and I'm looking for a third, you guessed it, Shimano. Shimano make THE Stella and THE Tiagra, what more do I have to say? IFS
  12. Definately spend the money mate. My faves are the Yo-Zuri's in 1.8 to 2.0 size, the latter has caught my PB squid of 36cm mantle length. I've found the natural coloured jigs work best for me, natural greens, crimsons and yellow/browns are the go. IFS
  13. Wow mate what an awsome trip you had. What an Emperor, I tip my hat to you IFS
  14. I like Pelicans for their character and enthusiasm when you pull out some fish guts Though they can be a bit of a pest they are fun to have around when playing with my little brother and sister. IFS
  15. That place looks quite unrestricted, with just the glass and all. If it were me I would be dreading my parole to come through IFS
  16. What a collection mate, ur ready to take on every King in the ocean! Can't wait to read the report when you get back IFS
  17. Great table fish there mate! Catching fish on lures imo is a lot more fun than throwing out baits. IFS
  18. This Summer I'd like to give my new combo's that have both been rigged up and ready to go as of last weekend (birthday money well spent). Targets for my landbased fishing are to get a heap of Frigates, Bonito, Kings, Squid and the odd Salmon and Tailor. Targets for my boatbased fishing include loads of Dollies (Bull's aswell) and anything big like a Wahoo or Marlin would be awsome. IFS
  19. What a fish mate. And targetting Bream aswell on 4lb IFS
  20. Usually I use weights at around 2.0kg to 2.3kg up to a moderate current flow. When it's running quite fast I opt for a 3.0 to 3.5kg weight so I know the baits are on the bottom It just depends, I would have a rough guess at 1 weight to 3 drops or so. IFS
  21. Good stuff mate, what did you catch those blokes on? IFS
  22. What depth were you fishing in to be going that light? Was the drag setting at 1/3 the test? IFS
  23. Great work on the Fin, though what a bugger about the biggen IFS
