  1. What a report and trip. That's some insane fishing. Love the pictures and the story that came with it.
  2. Hi Raiders, Had a few sessions in the harbour over the past fortnight with most fish caught in Hen and Chicken Bay and surrounds. The most recent session saw myself and a mate getting hit nearly every cast during a hot bite with a rising tide over some weed and rock. We must have landed nearly 10 fish each and dropped twice as many. They were mostly undersize bream and flathead but it was definitely a lot of fun to continually feel the ticks in the line. We did manage 4 legals with 3 around 30cms to keep us on our toes. Plastics that did the damage included the trusty Z-man grubz in motor oil and bloodworm and Powerbait minnowz. The tailor didn't appear to be around in big numbers which is usually a good thing when fishing with plastics. The conditions were quite nice. Water clarity seems to be slowly returning to the harbour.
  3. Btw, apparently the Atomic crank 38 shallow which is the one I think you're using has been discontinued so it might be worth stocking up.
  4. I've caught some decent flathead on the bigger ones. They do work and have some gimmicky things (e.g. glow LED for night fishing) that probably can help in improving catches but the build quality is a bit below that of the Spanyid which is in roughly the same price bracket. They both vibrate as much as each other. The hooks on them are very strong however.
  5. There was this thing a while ago involving making lures from toys that came from Kinder Surprise chocolate eggs. It was called Do You Even Kinder and can be found with a simple Google search.
  6. Well done Richard, nice croc and PB. You've come in leaps and bounds since the Soft Plastics Social last year and this is just a fantastic result all round.
  7. Not a problem, I've moved it for you.
  8. Love using HBs but only in certain situations because they can be quite dear and I generally like a return on investment before I start throwing them into more risky spots. They can be as complex or simple to use as the user chooses.
  9. There is a number of informative posts in this thread, so rather than deleting it, I'll unpin it.
  10. Love the pictures, especially that first pristine looking one. The murray cod look in fine condition. Congrats.
  11. Well done guys. That's a nice bass. What lure did the damage on the carp?
  12. That's a dream session. First cast and then first jew on a plastic, landbased. What more could you ask for? Props.
  13. Nice bag of large luderick Ryder.
  14. Well done Richard! Congrats on your first whiting on surface, they do become very addictive. Now you know that your walk the dog technique is sound. Keep it up!
  15. A new thread with a poll is put up in the Catch of the Month section at the beginning of each month to decide the winning entry of the month previous. The poll normally runs for 5 days (and closes at 7pm on the 5th day).
  16. Seasponge, that is a beautiful report and a very significant catch on this forum. It's not always about what is caught but here you've succeeded in catching your target. You deserve a pat on the back.
  17. These series of pictures were sent to me of what appears to be a rather thin and light object (animal/fish/mollusc remnant?) found off the beach near Port Macquarie. Does anyone have any ideas on what this object might be?
  18. Congrats on the flathead John! I'm sure you'll tick off a few more of those Aussie fish the next time you are here.
  19. Nice little video and editing nanman. I hope those ink marks aren't too bad.
