  1. Choad...... Look over you left shoulder mate... We call that spot Squiddyland! I never said that on a public forum OK Robbie.
  2. Nothing like a bit of retail therapy to get you through the tough times All you need to do now is break that 3000 on a fin on Saturday We have Pillies and we have intent
  3. Hi mate, I joined recently, it is very easy. You can download the membership form here. Send Warnie a PM and I am sure he will sort you out.
  4. Happy birthday mate. I would say go have a beer and celebrate but your probably still on it after Manly winning
  5. I don't know the bay or your boat but I would get up and have a look any way... So put that beer down and go to bed!!!!
  6. Sensational photos and nice flag too Will you guys be fishing point score on Sunday? What lure were you dragging around? Robbie.
  7. It wont be the mic if you can talk at close range but not further away. Does your radio have an option to transmit at 1w like some units do, that might explain you hearing them but them not hearing you Robbie.
  8. Shawn, It depends on the kind of fishing you want to do out there, if you intend to fish for Marlin you don't need to read the bottom accurately and the Garmin will be fine. If you are going to bottom bash the furuno with the 1k would be better. Robbie.
  9. Who said any thing about Furuno???? You are always going to get the latest is greatest crowd mate, that's the way it is these days... Before Furuno it was Garmin before that it was Furuno again, Raymarine were in there some where too.... It is all about marketing... Any way back to your original question..... Get the biggest screen you can afford with the highest powered RMS transducer. Both elements are crucial when looking for fish. You also need to be happy with the menu structure, a mate of mine has a popular brand that takes way to many button presses to get between the most used pages.. Good luck with it..... Robbie.
  10. Bugger that!!! You can borrow my gear for next weekend, or if you are going out before that let me know and you can come and get some gear to get you through. Robbie.
  11. Once a truck driver always a truck driver, you learn to look up early hey Ross Nice looking rig mate,
  12. Hi mate, You can troll a lure with the DR if you have no livies It will at least get you used to setting and retrieving it and help train your eye on the sounder..
  13. Hi mate. I had a 115 on the back of mine and in gear was fine. Knock it in and out of neutral when you think you might be about to get hit or are over the school. Have a read of this for more info on squid rigs.
  14. Maaaaaaaaaaaaaate! Tunks and Rose bay are only 15 minutes away once you get onto Diggers Crossing (ANZAC Bridge) Both will put you a hell of a lot closer to the action. What ever you do don't use the one at the end of lillyfeild Rd in your boat Robbie.
  15. On my Johnson 115hp The thermostats had a kind of filter on them that could get blocked. They never did but it was an easy fix if it happened, just unscrew them give them a rinse and pop them back in.. Is it possible your motor has a similar setup? Robbie.
  16. Nice work!!!! 480 views and 6 replies........ I am guessing there is a bit of winter envy going on Feel free to PM me the next batch of photos
  17. I use Warnies method but with a small cable tie instead of the band. It works a treat Robbie.
  18. Is brown sludgey mud coming out of the box drain holes bad? The oil actually smelt like burnt sump oil not gear box oil and was the colour of bad nescafe coffee. As previously stated I am no mechanic, I just looked for the things that have bitten me before. Linkages were moving freely and doing what they should from the control box to the motor. After that is another man guess. The prop shaft had no unusual free play on any axis that I could determine but when turning the prop a full rotation (in gear) with the ear to the leg the end of the revolution had what I would describe as an unusual grating noise. Said noise seemed to be lower down not up top. That's all I got. If some one else can help Chris out please do. It's his first boat and I would hate for this experience to put him off a great pass time. Robbie.
  19. It lies I tell you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  20. Hi mate, That really sux I am not far from you, I can come and have a look for you. I am no mechanic but would be able to determine if it needs to go to Huey or is a simple fix. I have PMd you my number, give me a yell if you want to line it up. Robbie.
  21. C'mon............ Tell the truth Keith made it didn't he........ So he can see you at all times in the big supermarket with the tackle section! How about an LED in the tip for sunrise and sunset journeys? Robbie.

    Tabs Boats

Vince.. My 2 bobs worth.. I don't think I will buy another tin boat again, let alone a new one. I have been in the pontoon boats but they still are not glass. Hence the best tin quotes.. Not best hull... Do your self a favour and do some research on second hand glass boats. There are some great bargains to be had in second hand boats these days. You will save mega $$ Send the game fishing guys a few PMs, they spend there fishing lives out there Robbie.
