  1. Well done Mik That is a top effort from your own boat My turn next What lure did the damage? Robbie.
  2. Some info on Dollies for you all Mahi_Mahi.pdf
  3. Sydney water police.... 93207499 Police assistance line 131 444. These people are committing a crime and the police will respond! Trust me Robbie..
  4. Awesome. Well done mate, that 20kg one won't be far away now!
  5. Agreed, at least twice. You need to allow for movement on the boat, rocking and swaying and different trim levels when you are on and off the plane. All of that water is not going to find the right spot at the right time. You need to give it some options I have a 19mm inlet (500gph) and a 30mm overflow in each corner at the top. I also have a bung at the lowest point to drop the water at the end of the day.
  6. I just run the braid straight through the clip, you won't have any issues with abrasion.
  7. Vince, There are a many variables in the equation, I would be setting aside 5k for it to be done properly though. More info on the vessel and the state of the transom will help.. Robbie.
  8. This is what the Garmin guy on another site said when some one else had the same issue..
  9. Yes that is exactly what they are saying...... To the media, and any one that will listen.. However, Section 7 of their own Torn Blue Fringe document states that 17% of tagged GNS have lip jewelery, and all but one of them has had it since pre 2002.... Go figure
  10. Welcome to the world of boating I haven't had a boat that was new or second hand that didn't need some thing done to it.. But that's half of the fun, it's a hobby.

  12. NPA Full report can be found here.. http://www.marine.org.au/NPAMarine_TBF.pdf P167 has the juice on Sydney and 169 has a full map.. Robbie.
  13. It is definitely by catch, a friend saw them being dumped..
  14. Roberta, Did you email them or snail mail? My understanding is that pollies are not obliged to reply to an email but are legally bound to reply to snail mail. Snail mail is definitely the way to go when corresponding with these people as they have to read your letter and think about a reply. If every one that is popping off emails could take the time to print it out, sign it and pop it in the post the pollies real inbox would be full and they may take a little more notice.
  15. Of course it was...... The FORD wouldn't have made it as far as the ramp It is not just the commodores with the soggy hand brake issue, my Rodeo is the same
  16. I wonder if the tinny charged him $170 All jokes aside I am still a member, when I needed them they showed up on time, no dramas
  17. Andy.. http://www.nswgfa.com.au/2009_news.html
  18. Correction.... My EPIRB! I am guessing I don't need to be at your place tomorrow to pick it up? Did they grift anything else or was it a one off EPIRB attack?
  19. Agreed mate. The reasons sharks float is the high level of oil in their liver, it is their buoyancy system. However, the liver of a shark or a swim bladder on a bream is not what makes a sounder work. If I shaped a Bream out of concrete and dragged it through your sonar cone you would see it, swim bladder or not
  20. Carl. if the fish are there and your electronics are on then an apex predator shows up and the fish bugger off I wouldn't blame it on the electronics.
  21. I am sure there is a thread around here some where that Nectic did that went into a lot of detail on brand and knot strength. Have a look through Netics threads to find it. It was agreat read.. EDIT.. http://fishraider.com.au/Invision/index.ph...c=23895&hl=
  22. Sorry John but that is not true at all. It is a very common misconception but it is baseless. Sonar works on reflection, a signal is sent and the computer interprets that signals return. That returned signal has nothing to do with swim bladders it is all about time and distance of objects that are in the path of the signal. Sharks don't have swim bladders but I am sure a decent sounder would pick up a 80kg Mako under your boat. To the original point, I don't think I have ever turned mine off..
