  1. let me assure you, the gear you will need is much cheaper than a boat!!!!
  2. Probably getting eaten by the Leatherjackets
  3. My wife and i took our 6 year old out on the boat on the Hawkesbury on Saturday. We went round the corner towards the 1st Bridge and drifted. We caught 2 keepers, (1 flathead and 1 sweep) and a zillion reddies. Our 6 year old had as much fun catching the 8 cms reddies as he did the flathead. Didnt take any pics because we were too excited!!!
  4. Great idea, you might like to add whatever size you had in mind: croc - very large flathead over say
  5. you had a much more 'pleasant' afternoon than most of us Raiders. Good on you.
  6. great catch Pete and i, like everyone else, am looking forward to the onslaught of Kings very shortly.
  7. there would have been many of us that pulled out of taking a boat out sat or sunday. I went down to Akuna Bay, had a look and thought "lets have lunch here instead". Good luck to you for giving it a go.
  8. after 15 years or more of fishing the Hawkesbury, i can tell you i agree with the concept that it is great 1 day and hopeless the next. I have found coal and candle does produce some good fish at each end of it but you do need to be patient, try different baits and pray to the fishing gods. Ken used to have some info on the best spots as he is a hawkesbury Fishing God but i am not sure if that section is still on this site. I also ageree that since the pro's were kicked out of sydney harbour the fishing in pittwater has gone from bad to worse. That isnt going to change any time soon so you do have to go where their nets cant. Good luck and dont despair, you can always get out the front of Lion and catch salmon at this time of the year and they are great fun to catch on silver lures.
  9. of course it is your catch and not your brothers. Good on you for having a great time out there.
  10. After what you have, you will be very surprised if you go fishing in Pittwater! It isnt quite the same in intensity and frequency. lol
  11. congrats to you both. A great catch and good eating for a while yet.
  12. i have caught a lot of salmon off lion island with metal lures.
  13. fantastic and something i will try
  14. those guys all look frozen. Great day for fishing.
  15. Darwin seems a lot better than Pittwater! Good on you for your catch.
