you did better than me, i was in BB for an hour on sat morning but i found the choppy condtions to be too messy, it made me feel crook, so headed in and called it a day.
i am going to fish around Lion Island and BB tomorrow morning for 2 or 3 hours and see if any of the Kings from the Harbour have moved North. If any one is out there i will be on channel 96. Good luck to everyone for the weekend, at least the wind looks like it is giving us a break.
i agree. i find it the most over rated fishing spot in the Hawkesbury. I know fish are caught there but after more years than i care to think about i dont bother trying there any more. And on the weekend, isnt there a couple of boats there. They out number the fish by 10 to 1.
3 months ago i was out quite wide from Broken Bay and there was a fair chop and wind on and there were 5 guys in a 4 metre tinny with a 25 on the back of it all with cans in their hands trying to fish in a 2 metre swell with a southerly blowing at 20 knots. You just know that is a recipe for disaster. I know i am too cautious (have a 7 metre Signature with a 225 Mercury on the back) but at least i have always been relatively safe when it turns sour and my experience is, it does turn crook regularly.
you would want a dead set flat day for a 4.1 tinny. Best be safe and hitch a ride with one of the many members in here who have bigger boats. 1 metre diffence in length in a boat makes a huge difference in how it handles the sea and wind.
reckon there are at least 24 tips doing the rounds. I have no idea but will most likely get my 3 year old son to pick some numbers. Cant do any worse than my traditional results.
