  1. I have it on good authority that Pittwater is looking like going off this summer. heaps of Rats there at the moment was the report that I got. Mate fished there yesterday and pulled 4 kings and got smoked by a monster. Cheers Lee
  2. Well done Joe. You seem to have the knack of getting bass to hit surface lures. Cheers Lee P.S - I have some special new poppers/water walkers that i'm trialing at the moment. I am getting some more in so since you love top water luring so much I might be able to push some your way! just pm me and we can sort it out
  3. No its always good to analyse a days fishing of what was caught when and what it was caught on. It always helps to improve and hone your skills. As an example you might be fishing berkley's one day and not get many hits. After this weekend you would know what sp to put on as you would remember how many flatties your dad got on that sp. Cheers Lee
  4. Not being one to want to rain on the parade ( 45 fish is an awsome session ), but when it comes to flatties, they will eat anything that moves past them. I have caught them on just about every plastic (heaps of different sizes) I have ever owned. Sure some sps are better but a flattie is an ambush predator and will eat anything that comes its way. If it doesn't like what its just eaten, then it spits it back out. Cheers Lee
  5. Looks like you boys were doing it very hard up there Cheers Lee
  6. If the size is down try bigger baits or lures. What you will find is that the little fish muscle in in larger numbers and smash bait and lures. the big ones are normally around but sometime can't get through the smaller fish to get you bait or lure. I have experienced that time of fishing before and there is almost always a couple of briusers in the pack just waiting for thier chance. Cheers Lee

    Holy Squid!

Imagine the size of the kingy that would eat that live squid
  8. Unlucky mate. At least you were out there giving it a go. Well done on the hook up and its a shame about the tackle failure. I have had so similar failures on small gear recently that seem to be an exact carbon copy of what happened to you. What brand of leader were you using? Cheers Lee

    On The Move

I though both you and Swoff would enjoy the news. Should be able to get some small blacks from my boat when the season is on and depending on where the FAD is, dollies on bream gear Should be able to get out for a fish more often up there and you are always welcome aboard. Cheers Lee
  11. My main objective is to boat a good small marlin on my Saltiga with the custom spin stick. Then some Kings, tuna's, throw in a smattering of spotty macks and mack tuna's and thats about it. Cheers Lee
  12. Hi all, Just to let you all know that I will be moving from the Sydney area up the the beautiful area of Port Stephens to live Will be moving within 12 months and as you might have guessed, I can't wait The only problem is that I will have to work in Newcastle, but thats a small price to pay for living in such a great area. I know this will put a smile on the face of some guys and yes you guys will always be welcome to come up and stay and of course do some fishing. Cheers Lee
  13. Well done mate. Seems you have the Bay wired as usual. We have to get out for a fish soon. Sorry its been a while but i work 6 days a week now so its pretty hard to go out. Cheers Lee
  14. If your boat is big enough head out to Tomaree head. Alot of guys are getting wasted and spooled around there on some big fish. A mate of mine lives there and they have not caught them yet. Possibly big tunas as they head straight out to sea with a massive first run. Allot of the islands offshore produce good fish, you just have to find them. The Boulders also produces some good fish. heaps of live bait up there to catch. Cheers Lee
  15. Good fish there. Definatly a grinner. have caugh heaps of them in the harbour in the years gone past. feral little mongrels they are Cheers Lee
  16. I do the exact same thing as swoff but I use avery soft used tooth brush to clean the reels and rods ( runners included ). Cheers Lee
  17. Well done Jo. Glad to see you got some fish. Top effort. Cheers Lee
  18. I would have to say a white lead head jig or small metal slice. Will catch just about every fish there is. That would be the one for me. Plus if i was allowed of course the berkley 3in minnow and a sx48 Cheers Lee
  19. Lurespinner, Since you are getting a nice reel why not match it to a nice graphite composite rod? There are plenty around. Look at the Strudwick range, Shimano raider range, Berkley dropshots, Daiwa heartlands and even the new Pflugher rods are well priced. It all comes down to money of course but there is even the Gloomis and Daiwa Heartland Z range and although they are pricey they both make exceptional rods. I would not bother with an Ugly Stick due to its glass construction ( not a shot at the rods as I have one but its a heavier stick ) as the graphite sticks combined with braided line offer superior feel and strength. You will feel the slightest touch on a combo such as this and it can double as an esturary combo and a light offshore combo. Cheers Lee

    Advice Needed.

Hi Jo. I just pm'd you. Cheers Lee
  21. Daiwa all the way excepting baitrunners. They are an exceptional reel from shimano and no one can match this reel. I own only 2 shimano reels and thats a baitrunner and a computer 1000. The rest are mainly daiwa. Never heard of the issue with the saltigas and i myslef have never had any problems with my Z6500 Gt and neither have any of my friends that own one. Interesting. Have a play with both but if it were me i would be getting a capricorn oven a stradic anyday.
  22. Well done Bill. We were out on Thursday and the schools were massive. They dissappeared though due to idiots driving through the schools Well done Cheers lee
