    Still Waiting

Thanks Byron. You were one of the guys I was going to contact for a day out. either in my boat your boat or both boats. I have a lot to learn about the ol' kingfish as I want to target them specifically over summer. So i need to know where to locate yakkas, slimmies ( when they are around and squid ( I know some spots ). Cheers Lee

    Still Waiting

Yep hopefully i will. My goal is to land a kingy in it this summer on bait and on lures. Plus I want the girlfriend to land a kingy as well. Once I get the boat I might be racking peoples brains and asking for some help to make this goal possible. Cheers Lee
  7. First thing i do after a day out is to have a shower. Thats is after I tighten all the drags up and lightly wash the reels and rods with warm fresh water and then scrub them with a soft old tooth brush. Then dry and lossen drags then oil up after every use. Some of my gear is old but still looks like brand new. Cheers Lee

    Baitcast Reel

Wakd, Rick is right about tuffline. Best braid around, but i still use firline as well. before you all laugh i have a pflueger trion that has to be one of the best baitcasters I have ever owned. Only the top of the line shimano and daiwa reels compare with this reel in smoothness and strength. JMO. Have a look at them and you will not be dissapointed. Very smooth and relaible units. Cheers lee
  9. I use Vanish, but I buy it in the spools as its got less fluro carbon in it and it is stronger. Ken thats maybe why some guys don't have issues with it? Just a thought and at a guess i would say that is it. I have found that tying knots to vasnish with braid is what weakens vanish and there are specific ways to ensure that the vanish leader is not damaged when doing joining knots. Cheers Lee
  10. I like it bash Nice ride Jethro, awsome boat. Cheers Lee

    Still Waiting

Still haven't got my boat yet . trailcraft sent a 5.0 profish over instead of the 455. I said i would take it but the dealer would not do it. I have ended up getting the navman 4500 and 5500 free though due to the wait and stuff ups. Thats a good deal I think and saved me almost $2000. I went and measured up the custom screen for it and it has just had a custom live bait tank installed. just have to wait for engine and ancilleries, sounder, gps and plumb the livewell and the live bait tank. One day i will be able to get out in it. Maybe next summer or the summer after Cheers Lee

    Where Is

Damm close Mark. Very close. So close and the spot is actually called Skipjack point, only less than 500m from cape Peron. very good indeed. For that I will owe you a beer at the next social event. Cheers Lee

    Where Is

Hmm shark bay is a big place. Sharks bays coastline is actually bigger than the coastline of the UK. Right area but where is it specifically. Beer is still waiting and I might drink it if no one gets it right! Cheers Lee

Hmm 1 right answer but no that does not entitle you to half a case. If anyone gets it I will buy them a case of beer for real! Cheers Lee

Shame you can't fish though Took about 20mins worth of video ( VHS-C not digital ) but i'm in the process of getting the software to convert it to DVD on my pc. then i can show you all some pics of the cobes and kingys speed as they were chasing bit of food thrown into the lagoon. Also happened to see a 3-4foot tiger shark in the the shallows, less than 1 metre from shore, just cruising on by the car park area. Not quick enough with the camera though. Cheers Lee

    Oh My God #2

yeah apparently they are the only reel with a digital macro lens

    Oh My God

Not wrong mate but the spare spool costs $400 US so i can only guess to say that they are worth over $3000+ for the reel. Although a charter operator in Perth has seen the best spinning reels from both daiwa and shimano crack under the pressure of a samson fish and the Van Staal's just keep on going on. Cheers Lee

    Oh My God

    What Batterys

Hi all, As some of you already know i picked up my riptide 65lb 24v the other day. Now i'm unsure of which battery's to go for. I want gell cells as they are smaller and compact and have a better usage life as i will need 2 for the 24v setup. However getting a charger for them can work out expensive. So any thoughts and help on this matter would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Lee
  24. Yep Jo i got a good price. Can't really say here were i got it from due to site sponsors and before anyone asks no it not stolen or hot. Cheers Lee
  25. Well i have a z6000gt and will pick it up on monday. Excellent reel and had a play with it today. I will be ordering the z6500 spare spool from os as its going to cost $400 for that spool here. No way i'm paying that for a spool. Cheers Lee
