  1. Nice fish, well done... you'd have to be happy with that!
  2. Thanks for the thought Jon, but I need to sell my boat first mate before I can buy anything else, and I'm still debating on what I should do and what I should ideally go for. Looks a nice rig, but the 70 HP would probably turn me off it anyway, I really want a 4 stroke and even if I did stick with a 2 banger I'd be wanting 100 HP+ I would imagine. Cheers Geoff
  3. Thanks for the reply Paddy. Yeah mate that's sort of where I'm at, at the moment. I really like the idea of a center console boat, but just worry about not having cover and whether I'll really like if if I get one... I'd really like my next boat more than anything to be lighter than my current one, and I'd also like a 4 stroke outboard on it, I'd also really like the boat and not regret what I buy and be stuck with it for a while.
  4. Thanks Pauafritta... mate something about those bowriders I just don't like, but so many people who have them say they're great. Just looks like the back of them are really short for space because of the seats up front.
  5. Thanks for the offer blaxland but I'd be looking for a bit bigger than that myself and a bigger outboard mate.
  6. Still looking for other boats if anyone has any I should run my eye over. Thanks
  7. Not really early, just a half hour it's no drama do it all the time. Sounds good mate.
  8. Thanks for the write up and tips Ron. My boat takes a few Weetbix to wind her up when I'm retrieving after a day out. Thanks Baz, I don't live in the bay, I live in Medowie, but that would be great to get out with you and feel how that model goes.
  9. Mate, I should add more. I do like my boat but at the same time its too big for me. I don't go right offshore, I'm happy to stick around Broughton Island and fish within that type of area and I'm sick of towing such a big heavy boat with my Mrs 4 cylinder car. I originally brought it thinking my brothers would come up here regularly and I'd have the space to take a few out but it hasn't panned out that way. I'm more looking to downsize and would really like a Aluminium boat as I'm over towing a tank! I'd really love to get a 4 stroke also, and cut down on my fuel cost, not real cost effective even if I were to go out on the big girl by myself for the day. HaHa will more than likely still have her by then mate. When are you looking at coming up next?
  10. Thanks Baz, was a misprint mate. I meant between $14,000 I have fixed that price up
  11. Hi all, Looking for some advice on a good all rounder aluminium boat in the 4.75 - 5.00 mark that can fish inside the local bay, but also do some outside fishing on a good day. Something easy to launch and retrieve alone, but something that can handle at least 80 to 90 HP on the back. I have a 5.2 savage escort right now, she's a great boat for getting outside and fishing inside the deeper parts of the bay, but I used to go a lot with my young fella who is 19 years old, but he now has a girlfriend and as you would, he has brushed me and I cannot launch the boat I have now that easily on my own and seeing my son won't come with me as much I might fish the bay more than I go outside, but would still like to have a boat that can when I want to. I'm hoping to get something to meet this criteria for between $14,000 to $19,00 there about a would be awesome. Any suggestions and advice as always greatly appreciated. Thanks Geoff
  12. Nice fish Jeff, the kids would enjoy catching those couple of bangers, certainly beats sitting in front of the TV etc. The best water temp I got on Saturday was 20.5 according the the Lowrance.
  13. A local told me that there are an absolute blanket of tailor around at the moment. He said he's been picking up Kings trolling around near Broughton. Said he was heading out Saturday to chase Tuna and some more kings. Good luck tomorrow, look forward to reading the report.
  14. Great work mate. Good to see the kings are still there... Obviously the Sharks haven't eaten them all just yet. Well done and good report ?
  15. Unlucky mate, but that is me every trip usually. Can't believe you didn't get any at the pens, Scratchie said too many Sharks around there at the moment... You spot any today?
  16. Good stuff Antony, and good read. Agree with Scratchie if the young fella had the best day ever what more can you ask for hey ?
  17. I hearing they are being caught outside the markers now. There was a post on facebook saying they are being caught and schooling up at one of the markers imparticular.
  18. Was out there yesterday morning, there was about 15 - 20 other boats out there and the fisheries got there at 6.30 am, so a good 3 hours earlier than they were turning up through the week from what I heard. My brother was onto a fish as they came over so they said to him as soon as you get that fish in, make sure you let it go. Have to try and find schools of them somewhere else, which is the tricky bit.
  19. Nice one Jeff, you love putting people onto fish mate, I'll bet young Scratchie's mate will never forget it... Awesome stuff
  20. Slayed it Jeff and sons, well done boys. What a day, what a place - PS I love you
  21. Nice fish Rick, how's the conditions there right now
  22. Cheers Jeff... I'll see what happens, but was maybe thinking tomorrow morning if the conditions were ok, or more than likely Sunday morning. If I don't this time would definitely be something I'd like to do next time you go though.
  23. Are conditions looking ok for tomorrow morning? Are you finishing tomorrow morning too Rick?
  24. Willyweather has Saturday morning looking pretty good if I'm reading it right Scratchie
