  1. Mate, you shouldn't have any problems. I have a 5.7mtr Quintrex bowrider and used Myola when I was staying at Jervis Bay Caravan Park a couple of years ago and had no issues what so ever launching or retreiving.
  2. Well done Tdogz, pitty about the PB King that got away but that's fishing. Cheers Dave
  3. Hi Poly2096, Try using some plumbers tape and then clamp it....it should stop the leaking. Just make sure when you twist the hose on, its in the same direction you have winded the plumbers tape....avoids it making a mess of the tape (as its very soft) and it will give you a nice clean finish. Cheers Dave
  4. Nice upgrade mate. Hope she gives you plenty of "stress free" boating and fishing mate. Well done to zmk1962, kiwicraig and flatheadluke for helping you out...great to see Raiders always happy to help. Cheers Dave
  5. @antonywardle, I agree with wrxhoon1 about the anti-seize. I use it on all my vehicles threads and it protects it from seizing and corroding Also, did you use Lithium base grease? Lithium base grease prevents grease turning into concrete. I learned the hard way on my old boat whereby I used normal grease on steering shaft and I ended up breaking the steering trying to turn it. Use CRC Brake Clean to clean all the grease from your rotors....great stuff to get rid of grease and grime. Cheers Dave
  6. Hi Poly2096, First of all, you didn't tell us if you have a dual or single battery system on the boat? Do you have a dashboard (will this be a permanent thing although its removable) where you could install a switch. Cheers Dave
  7. @richard2234, Did you want to keep the same set up or did you want to improve it?Noticed that you don't have a VSR (Voltage Sensitive Relay) on your boat. Maybe have a read of this article where we discussed dual battery set ups and then decide what you want to do. I love my set up as it's all automated and no flicking of switches between battery 1 or 2...only on or off. Cheers Dave
  8. Just had a look myself and from what I can see in the catalogue, another option if you don't want to drill holes is a 1021 clamp on unit... Cheers Dave
  9. This is what mine ended up looking like after I installed the SS rod holders and downrigger....
  10. Unfortunately the 1028 has an 30 degree angle and yes, it would point towards the sky in a straight vertical rod holder. I was going to attach a pdf catalogue from the Scotty site and then you could have a look yourself what suits you best but the file is to large for the attachment (17Mb). Go to Scotty.com and download catalogue in PDF. I think all the mounts for downriggers are on page 20. Cheers Dave
  11. I ended up buying an original Scotty unit as I couldn't find the universal model at a discount price. The Scotty cost slightly more and I bought it on flea bay from the USA....mind you the Aussie dollar was about 85-87c comparing to today. Look up Scotty 1028 gimbal mount on flea bay....this is what it's called and the correct model number for a 1085 down rigger. Cheers Dave
  12. Absolutely agree with zmk1962. All equipment should have a fuse as this is what protects it in case of an overload. This is why I installed a fuse box and everything is running to that....everything has its own fuse. Cheers Dave
  13. @welster, @zmk1962, I think he has a spray nozzle (aerator) and I could be wrong but I thought it might be better if it was installed at the top.?
  14. Hey Reelcrazy, I was there too. I think I might have spoken to you when I asked what you were using for bait as you had a hook up and you responded saying that you used whole squid and also squid strips.....was that you? We got there around 5am and got some livies (couple of yakkas and some huge slimiest). We put out live baits and in the meantime did some flicking on my light rod (8lb braid with 8lb leader on a 2-4Kg rod) with SP's. Caught about 6-7 rats and lost just as many....even gave one of the hook ups to my mate cause he couldn't get a bite as he has never caught a kingie and wanted to experience the fight. Problem was when he was about to start tightening the drag setting and I said "no, don't touch the drag.....if you tighten it, he will bust you up". Anyway, he fought it and fought it and turned around and said...."my arms are killing me".....lol . I responded...."mate, you're only fighting a baby and I brought him up half way for you before I gave you the rod, lol" . Gotta love those kings... Eventually, he got it out and he was bushed...hahaha. Unfortunately, they all went back in the drink as they all ranged from 58-62cm. Unfortunately, there was no takers on the livies and we went over to Kurnell to grab a bite before trying the runways for no takers and headed home around 11am as the wind started to pick up. Cheers Dave
  15. There are PFD's that automatically activate if you fall in the drink. They are the same as the ones where you need human interaction but are automatic. They are a bit dearer (around $150) but this is the closest you will get to comfort whilst fishing.
  16. Well done mate. Nice feed there... How far out did you go?
  17. Well done to you and your daughter JonD....what a fantastic fish and never seen those seas so calm...Wow!
  18. Hmmm....that wouldn't be the Ah. That would be the CCA (Cold Cranking Amps)...... strength of the battery at starting. I have a 730CCA Century as well. Will check tomorrow to see if it's a "Pro" model. Amp Hours is usually between 10 to around 100/120/150 Ah.....
  19. Century are usually pretty good raging.....how many Ah (Amp Hours) were they rated at?
  20. PM sent... Looks like they start batteries but you should be fine.
  21. I'm not suggesting that she doesn't weigh anything but she is nothing and I mean nothing comparing to my other boat. I have had her fully laden and towed her heaps of times and I can barely feel her on the back of my car. Even when I want to hook her up, I can lift the front and pull her 2-3mtrs to the tow bar without breaking sweat. The other boat, barely can lift the tow ball end, lol. Anyway, different boats...different trailers. I was just wondering as I know a few of my mates who have boats similar size, none have braked trailers like my boat. Baz's boat might be a heavier unit. Cheers Dave
  22. Hi Baz, If you own a Stacer 449, I'm surprised that it's a braked trailer? I have a 4.6mtr Aluminium Half Cabin with a 50Hp electric start and it's not braked. When I bought the new trailer, I was told that it is not required for that size. I also have a Quintrex 560 Freedom Sport and that is braked.
  23. Jeff, seriously.....have some heart for us poor souls that don't live up in Gods country. I feel for Fab....he hasn't even seen a fish that size in his boat, let alone hooked one. Poor bloke must be dying inside...
  24. Scratchie, I think I know why there are so many Kings in Port Stephens.... Have a read of this.... http://www.theherald.com.au/story/5187567/recapture-efforts-in-full-swing-after-entire-pen-of-yellowtail-kingfish-lost/?cs=305 Lucky you...
