Thanks for the response guys. Yeh I spoke to navico and they said to try putting depth range on auto. I'll give it a crack. I also actually had my transducer set on "m260 5k" which is the incorrect setting they said. Apparently that's a in hull transducer. Though it's weird that I was able to pick up temperature. Rex, do u have a transom mount or through hull?

Yeh I had it on 50Hz and 200hz mode as tests. Both couldn't read bottom. Any ideas ? I was hoping after purchasing this damn exxxy tranny that Browns would be crystal clear !

Hi guys, I'm having some real problems with my 1kw transducer. I'm intermittently lose bottom at depth (200m +) even though I'm just drifting. I have a Airmar TM260 with a Lowrance HDS 7 Gen2 Touch. It some how feels like It hasn't got enough power or something. Settings are: * Installation selected - Airmar TM260 (5K) * Deep water mode * Frequency - 50/200HZ * Ping Speed - 12 I can understand if I was losing bottom while underway (due to a bad installation), but i can't understand why i'd lose bottom just drifting. This is annoying me like crazy.. please help. Much appreciated. Cheers

I headed out to Browns on fri. It was sloppy to say the least. We trolled from the shelf to browns but pulled the plug once we got there. It was getting pretty hairy. Temperature was still quite warm (22 degrees).

thanks for the input guys. i always seem to get to Browns at about 9am or so. Always thought I was a late bird. But yeh, I agree with u scratchie.. Catching live bait can often drain valuable time in the morning

Yeh we were out at Browns today as well. Only caught 3 gems. Though when I got to the ramp, I saw a guys scaling a large specimen. I'm guess 20kg. This thing was huge!

If ur looking to fish Browns, I'd need a transducer with grunt. Something like a 1kw transducer with a unit to support it. I have a Lowrancd hds7 with an airmar tm260. Wish I got at least hds8 though

I have a set of Nankings. One of them keeps deflating every 3 or so weeks. Kindve annoying. I have my tutes inflated to 60psi. Not sure if that's over inflated?

For me when I had the problem, there was some butterfly like lids or flaps that weren't closing properly. After adjustment at the dealer, everything was fine again

Wow the surface is quite clear. Did u switch on low surface clarity on ur sounder? And are those marks the marlin?
