Use the boat ramp at little beach and head out SE 24 miles to 33.02 - 152.26 in 80 fathoms, jig the bait up and the marlin will come. We counted 97 boats out there on Sunday, ranging from a 3.8 savage with a 40 hp tiller steer to 70 foot game boats. Goodluck

Went out wide Tuesday before the big blow for all zeros and very little bait to be found, water temp good at 22.8 but no fish. Will try later on in the week. Cheers

I got a 12.5 kg one in Aug on the way out to chase yellowfin in 18.5 degree water. Cheers

I have the same reel on a Shimano T Curve jig spin 400 and is nicely balanced. Have used it several times but yet to christen it. Cheers.

Most were got on lures. We had a marlin spread out of 10 to 12 inch lures and one deep diver that did the trick. Most of the fish came from the Kink area. Cheers

Yes fished the tourny on Team Bentstik and went 6 6 6 T&R on Yellowfin with 5 on Friday and 1 fish on Sat in not so comfortable conditions, after the start time was defered to 10 am and we did not start fishing until midday. We dropped a marlin on Friday also. Did not fish Sunday as the wind picked up and we gave it a miss. All up plenty of fish,a top run tournament run by JBGFC and a great time had by all. Bad luck on your first marlin,nothing wrong with a TLD 25 to start off with, just don't like top shoting. You can fit 600 mts of 15 kg line which is plenty to catch your average stripe marlin inside the shelf, have caught plenty myself with that outfit before I did upgrade.
