  5. Fished up there on Friday and it was going off, dropped four and got a 13.5 kg dolly. Saturday quietened abit and was sloppy but still managed a double hook up,lost one and tagged the other. Sunday the fish came back on before the southerly turned up. Cheers Silvo - Bentstik
  6. No you don't as they are out there off Sydney, just waiting to be caught. Just keep trying Cheers
  7. Hi MacMac What size motor have you got. There is no need to go to browns at the moment as the fish are in close, in 70 fathoms/140 mts of water as the current is pushing the warm water in close. Browns Co ords are 34.02.200 151.39.500. Cheers Silvo - Bentstik
  8. Go the chart plotter they are a great investment. As you said you already have a sounder so keep the units seperate. As Gary said if you have a combo you lose to much when you split the screen unless you have a 10 inch screen, also if something happens to one of the units you won't lose the other as you would if it was a combo. Cheers Silvo
  9. Hi Brad, I run quiet a few JB Lures. They are all good but my favorite is the Dingo in the evil colour. I also have little dingos, choppers, rippers and chooks. They have caught me blues, blacks and stripped marlin and just last Wed we got a 13kg dolly down at JB, they will also get you tuna. I run the lures at about 6 to 8 knots, depending on conditions. As for the table quality of a dolly I'm with you one of the best going around, right up at the top. Goodluck buddy you will hook up. Cheers Silvo
  10. Sorry mate but will be you on the first week,I think, SOO up at port.

  12. Firstly you should be on channel 88. Then if you are in Botany Bay you call/say Marine rescue Solander Marine rescue Solander Marine rescue Solander this is _________ you call sign 3 times, wait for reply and if nothing heard after a min try again. When they respond they will ask you to go to channel 90 or 91 and you call them again. You then give them the relevent info and get logged on for the day. Cheers Silvo - Bentstik
  13. Happy birthday buddy,Hodgey and of course and the other fishraiders, hope you had a great day. Cheers Silvo
  14. Sorry Fezza but I disagree, if as you say happens and you dont need a licence then all the rubbish and carry on that happens on 27 meg will become the norm on VHF. The reason it does not happen at the moment on VHF is because people do a couse to obtain a licence and understand the importance of using the radio as its supposed to be used. Just my opinion. Cheers Silvo - Bentstik

    Rpm Rang

Pappy it suggests that the motor at wide open throttle should operate between 5500 and 6000 and should not exceed that max rpm range, 6000 being the higher end. If you are getting 5600 you are right in the ball park.I would be more than happy with that. Cheers Silvo
  16. Lucky does that mean in your opinon the only motor to have is a four stroke.
  17. Go the ICOM IC-604, mate just fitted one for the same reason, main unit downstairs and just the mic up in the flybridge. Works a treat, you can also use it as a intercom. Cheers
