  16. Seen them in blackies as well. ugly looking things. Hooked a blackie, and the doctor was on the end of my hook. I thought I hooked a cockroach on the ground. Gives me shivers up my spine thinking about it.
  17. Hi Roberta, Definately have to rename your yak The Predator. That would be awesome to see that name on the water.
  18. that is brilliant Byron . That fog picture does look like a destroyer. I Better watch out for those torpedos when I am fishing Wallis lake next time Now we know why Roberta is the predator. Her yak is really a warship in disguise the HMAS Predator.
  19. Hi Byron, With the free fall mode, the anchor is dropped in one go just like when you drop the anchor manually. For the electric, if it can't be mounted on your existing deck because of windscreen been fouled, or because of your bow rail, you will need a mounting base custom made like mine. Not sure if the mounting base can be welded onto the bow rail. Don't think it would be as strong as if it was welded directly to the deck like the way I did it. If the mounting base was welded onto the bow rail, all of that weight of the electric and base would be on the weld joint on the bow rail.If the mounting base is welded to the deck, then to accomodate the electric when flat, I would say the bow rail would need to be cut and shaped.
  20. Alot of cars around Roberta. Went down to the keys today to see the speedboats in action. The place was full of cars, even had people from the council directing traffic.
  21. Hi Gaz, The plate is made with 5mm thick aluminium. The plate is extremely strong and didn't require any kind of support for the winch. Yes, the winch is the only thing attached to the plate, it is bolted on. Then the plate is bolted onto the deck. I can PM you details on where I had the plate custom made if you are interested. Hi Byron, The plate was custom made from scratch by the fabricator in Western Sydney using 5mm thick aluminium. As my deck has a curve, the plate was curved to match the deck and bolted on. I am not sure what other specs you need, as the plate will need to be custom made depending on the design of the boat, particularly the deck shape and anchor well size. If Gary was to make a plate for someone, I would be happy to provide photos of the plate if required.
