  1. This site will give you a breakdown on fuel consumption for most outboards based on revs. http://www.boat-fuel-economy.com/johnson-outboard-fuel-consumption-liters Hope it helps J
  2. Can you still pump nippers there? J
  3. The 4x4 park is still open. J
  4. Fitzroy Falls reservoir used to be ok for trout as well but I haven't tried it in years. J
  5. Salmon Haul Bay is supposed to be good for squid. J
  6. I bought the 95SV for $1599 and found it easy to use. The maps on it were dated 2014 but a simple phone call and they were upgraded to 2015 for free. The side scan is very good especially used in conjunction with the downvue. Put me straight onto a bait ball holding on a small reef at the back of Boat Harbour with snapper sitting under it. Never knew it was there before that. The maps are clear and have the different depth isobars clearly marked. Upgrades are carried out via a microsd plugged directly into your computer. J
  7. The dolphins seem to hang around, if it was a group of 4. Yesterday they were up around the Como rail bridge. The next time we saw them was back towards the Tom Ugly's bridge and then they came past us off Towra Point. Great to see them though. J
  8. D3 here as well. Username is the same as here. J
  9. Who was in the cat? I got to the headland about 6:40am. Someone called for fishraiders on the radio and then nothing so wasn't sure what was happening. Ended up fishing the osbornes and then in behind the Merries. Got some good sized squid but that was about it. It was damn cold and a lazy wind (it didn't bother going around, it just went right through you.) Sorry I missed you guys. J
  10. For catching shrimp, we always used a 375m tin can with some holes punched in it everywhere and a couple to tie some rope to. Then we would get some soap and "smokey" up the water and put the soap in the bottom of the can. Have no idea why it worked but it did. Usually found them in any slow moving water. J
  11. Off the groynes at Kurnell and along Silver Beach. At low tide, try the weed beds on the eastern side of the oil wharf. J
  12. So does this mean someone else might have to drive the new boat??????? J
  13. Add me to the list as well. Always wanted to try the Humps. J
  14. No guarantee of catching anything but your welcome to come out with me as well. J
  15. I thought that in the states that had them banned, the reason was that the nets catch undersized crabs and then they died whilst trying to be released whereas pot type traps allowed you to remove all crabs easily and release what had to be released. J
  16. Biggest problem around that area is all the home units. The parking is very busy all along that stretch of road. J
  17. Hopefully, they will provide a lot more parking down there to cater for the increase trailer boat traffic. J
  18. This may help http://www.boat-fuel-economy.com/fuel-consumption-chart J
  19. You will have a hard time fitting the reels to them though and trust me, they are not flexible when it comes to fighting a fish. J
  20. There is a hole just out from the moored boats and about half way along them. Always pick up some bream in there on the run out tide. J
  21. Well done Paikea, that is a really nice little setup. J
  22. Dolls Point is a great place for a fish in the early morning, and not far for a nice breakfast at one of the beach kiosks if fishing is slow. All along the Ramsgate area is ok too, there are the rock groynes to fish off. Along Silver beach at Kurnell is also a nice place to throw a line in. Not many snapper in the area though. J
  23. Fab1 that is a great setup. I will try to get some pics of my neighbours setup as well. J
  24. My neighbour simply cut out an area within the top of the seat and dropped in a live bait tank and plumbed it all in. Looked pretty good and made that area a lot more useful. J
