  1. i work at the other end of the line and its amazing how many tablets etc come through the post, without proper packaging only to end up as a powder leaking out of an envelope. Security scares here we come
  2. check the compresiion on both cylinders to see if they're even. A cylinder down on comp won't fire correctly, which in turn wont get the combustion temps up to burn the crap off the plug.
  3. heard of good reports from greenwhich wharf too

    Oh Sh#t

"I wonder what this button does?"
  5. go to a motorcycle place and get a neck warmer. I use 1 at work and it does the trick
  6. thats a large overbore thats been done to the motor, was it sleeved or just bored. If it was just bored, you will struggle to rebuild the engine later on using the same block. Otherwise sounds like it will be a beast. I remember my hz 5.0L that had an .080" overbore with slightly worked heads, cam. With the dual exhaust was very quiet till 4000rpm then u heard it.
  7. just wondering where u got these pics from??? would love to have them as my wall paper but would need them in a high res image to do so
  8. np on the report. If i had someone to babysit the young bloke for the weekend id be on one of those houseboats for sure. After freezing all night last year the only way ill do it is on a houseboat/cabin style boat.
  9. just a report. A mate caught 2 hairtail somewhere around cowan on thurs night 1 of them went 1.4m
  10. ive got 1 of the berkley bags with all the ziplock sleeves inside. Some of my plastics are 12mths old and are still ok. They are kept in a cool cupboard in the garage, and in the esky when fishing, so this may help with the shelf life
  11. Reefking from my time working on jeep/chrysler they have massive electrical problems. Also parts supply can be somewhat non-existant at times. I copped so much abuse from 1 customer after they saw me working on their vehicle which we could not fix due to parts. 3 tries to get the right parts to fix it. Sometimes its not the dealers fault, however Head office should be stepping in and fixing up the parts supply issues
  12. i used to work for nepean motor group who do jeep servicing. From the web dtc 299 is a low boost signal to the computer. Could be a number of things but if you can hear an air type noise under load, this would be the boost pressure leaking out causing the manifold air pressure to be lower than what it should be throwing the code and causing the vehicle to go into limp home mode. check all the hose clamps on the intercooler piping from turbo to manifold to make sure they are tight. The clamps are common to work there way loose. Cant remember how to clear the codes. The reason why a diesel will go into limp home mode when underboost is because they are a lean burn engine. They cannot compensate for not knowing what boost is being pumped into the cylinders to ensure overfueling doesnt occur which will end up melting pistons hope this helps
  13. Currently im the market for a boat and come accross this on ebay. Just wondering what do u think its worth, build quality and are the hours on the motor ok? thanks in advance Daniel http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vi...%2509%26fvi%3D1
  14. but after a day on the water your motor would still be warm?
  15. ill rig my plastics like this in very snaggy areas. the plastic sits up on the barb, but when taken will allow the barb to penetrate the fish's mouth
  16. hi guys, fished narra lakes today in my tinnie. It was more of an opportunity to fish, than checking tides etc. Woke up (had everything loaded nite before) jumped in the car and headed off at 6am. !5 mins later phone rings, youve forgotten your rods!!!!!!!! Bugger turned around and headed back. Arrived at narra lakes around 715 boat prepped and in by 730. First time i have fished narra lakes from a tinny, launched from the caravan park headed out where i saw some dirty water(thinking this was the main channel with the runoff) and stopped in my tracks..........damn sand. Freed the boat and headed down to the first creek (mullet creek) where i could see weed and sand patches. With the tide running out i thought this would be prime flattie grounds. fished here for 30 mins for a 45cm flattie plus 3 more undersized. Heaps of hits here but no hookups, tried my whole arsenal of sps, the killer here was a 3" minnow grub in mango ripple. The wind started to pick up so pulled out the poppers and gave them a go, lots of follows no hits changed between the colours i had and varied techniques but still nothing. Headed back toward the caravan park and anchored a few times casting onto the sand flats with about 1ft of water on them. Changed back to sp and just as the grub dropped off the edge of the channel i was on. After a 5 min fight landed a nice healthy 35cm tailor. A couple of more netted(all undersized) and the wind picked up to the point where my tiny anchor wouldnt hold. So eventually got off the sand then headed back to the ramp at 10:30. The only fish i was going to keep was the flatty, however without another flattie to accompany him on the table, he was released at the ramp to fight again another day. A good day at the lake to say the least. All fish were taken on sp the big surprise for me in the clearish water was the mango ripple outdoing all other colours. Pretty sure the tide was running out the whole time and judging by the weed marks at the ramp hadnt been running out for long when i got there. Sorry no pics phone went flat and left the camera at home
  17. before my old man moved onto a major road, himself and a neighbour were continually harassed by cops/council about their trucks(1 was 5t gvm the other 18t gvm) their response was cant do a thing about u driving to and from your residence, however the trucks must be parked in the driveway with no overhang onto the road and footpath(this is classed from gutter to fenceline on property). Currently where i live i have 2 dheads that park their trucks almost opposite each other just before a bend,i have had many near misses driving through there at the 50km local speed limit. I feel sympathy for heavy vehicle owners, but my families and my life are way more important than somewhere to park a heavy vehicle, so i support the council/cops enforcing this.
  18. as long as the postie wets are the older goretex they are fine, the new cheaper crap is just that......Crap. copious amounts of scotchguard has finally made my postie wets waterproof
  19. keep in mind that when towing a trailer, the trailer should be flat when attached to the vehicle. If it is angled down at the front, this will apply more weight onto the towball and thus could exceed the load rating of the towbar. This may inturn void all insurance in case of an accident
  20. buy different coloured heatshrink, cut into 10mm lengths slip over the ends and shrink on at say 1m intervals or whatever suits this way u can trace wiring even if it is the same colour
  21. looks the goods but have to think about the rest of the family. Prob looking at a runabout to at least provide some shelter for my 2 yr old on hot/rainy days
  22. im in the same situation atm. Got around 10k to spend on an ally boat. Plenty out there to choose from...... Try the usual places auction sites, trader eg boatpo1nt, tradingpost etc. If buying used get someone that knows boats to check it over before buying
  23. normally at the rosehill caravan and camping show too. The show doesnt use any hooks just weighted lures
