Hey guys, here is a few more pics if it helps, i have mine set up so it can be detached by the click of a hose, i just use the strap i tie my boat to the trailer with to strap in the tank while im out!! Also u can click on a hose nozzel to the bait pump end of the inlet hose so you can switch ur pump on and have a wash down on the way back in!! As i didn't want to drill any holes through the transom, we just made sure the container we used for the bait tank was higher than the transom, and offset the outlet back up and over!!! I used a 50mm kitchen sink waste to attach the overflow to the bait tank. this is great as the grill stops the squid from finding there way in and causing an overflow.

Hey all, The harbour has produced again! Tim and i hit the water at 2am meet up with jase & pete who had hook'm idleing at the pontoon ready to spend the morning hunting squid, so we quicky dumped our boat in and were on our way! It wasn't long b4 we bumped into another raider "greg" from dan & greg. he was on his way 2 pick up his sleepy brother dan!! Now with 3 boats armed and ready to dredge the harbour of squid it was on!! The squid started off slow but were consistantly coming up by sunrise we all had enough for a great day fishing! Now to find the kings as the westerly winds were blowingwe decided to take advantage of them and poke our noses out through the heads. Not much happening out there Heard people talking on the radio about leather jacket thats a good sign to hesd back into the harbour!! Gave Quarintine a quick hit for a couple of good runs but no hook ups!! So decided to hit middle harbour tim and i decided that downriggting would be the way to attack it so we set out 2 live squid and proceded to drag them around the moorings through the spit and beyond then wack zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz then strike then zzzzzzzzzzz then nothing : spat it! down goes the rigger again tims on strike it didn't take long b4 the downrigger went off zzzzzzz and tim was on! A nice little specimen of 62cm was landed bled and given to pete who was on hook'ms boat! Then its my turn again it didn't take long i was on and he was hooked this time!! uP comes a 60cm model, quick happy snap and back in the drink for him 62cm & 60cm With the kings comming up consistanly over the next hour tim boats a beautiful 68cm king and between us another 4 rats all about the 60 - 62 mark! all fish were caught using the downrigger! Hpe u can all figure out where these kings were taken as the photos were taken at the location just off seaforth! With jase (hook'm) and dan and greg near by getting into there fair share of the action with the words pb and bull shark mentioned from someone ill leave that story up to them! It was such an amazzing morning to be getting stuck into some nice kings with such hudge amount of boat traffic!! Love it! Was good to meet up with and chat to all the raiders on the water today Hook'm, d&g, Robbielites, coollamon and the rest of the gang great day guys!! All in all a perfectt day to be out on the water with tally for the day being 7 kings all were reallesed except 1 wich pete took home! Dan.

worked a treat no dead squid You can see i have extended the inlet right across the bottom and have got holes all round the horizontal pipe! so that will stirr up any muck at the bottom and force it out! Dan.

I saw this boat looking a bit iop sided in the water on sunday! Found it like this 2day! Its in the main channel closest to the ramp whatch out if going through there in the dark! Dan.

Hi all, hit the water at 3 am this morning and headed out to gather some squid, managed to raise enogh squid for a good days fishing. RIPPING IN A FEW SQUID B4 SUNRISE. First call was to downrig the markers around the harbour, all we got was pickers agghhh! so after about 2hrs of feeding live squid to the pickers and 6 squid later we decided to anchor up. Within about 10 min tims rod screams off zzzzzzzzz he's on! a short but good fight a 2kg 59cm Amber jack is boated. It didn't take long before my rod buckeled over and zzzzzzzzzz i was on! Again a short but good fight and a 2.1kg 60cm amber jack is landed! For there size they are a deffinate pocket rocket! TIMS AMBER JACK After that it was a little quiet and pickers had moved in on our baits tim managed to hook a 30cm snappper on a 8/0 hook and was quickly released. so we decided to move on change location, kick back and get a few baits over! Tims was the first rod to go off zzzzzzz-----zzzz----zzz and then nothing this happened a few more times untill my rod starts zzzz very slowly sneaking off so i lift and wait for the kingy run.. then WTF im on! it was not fighting at all thought id jaged a piece of weed then it starts ti kick around a bit holy s**# its that alligator the've been hunting for in America in comes a nice 64cm flattie pb for me! The rest of the morning was fairly quiet untill tims live squid rockets off zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz holy s**# its a big king we both called! and it was on his lite rod! After the hugggge run it starts comming back to the boat, before long it surfaces WTF its a flute mouth and was well over a meter long! we both got a good look at it as it spat the hooks right at the boat Has anyone else seen 1 of these in the harbour? I know i certainly havn't. All in all was a great day to be out in the water even though the kings didn't want to play! theres always sunday for that!! HA HA.. More pics of the day! 64cm flattie! at 1.6kgs dinner! The 2 extremes when squiding! small squid was caught on 1.8 yozuri and the large one on a watto lumo sparkle those thumper squid love your jigs watto!! Dan.

Hey guys, The best set up is your inlet to come in at the top (If you penetrate tank bottom there will be more pressure on it to leak) as mentioned above with a elbow facing down run the pipe to the bottom of the tank and drill plenty of holes in it! I acctually have just extended mine across the base of my tank! As far as the outlet is concerned what ever height suits you to a. get out over the transom or b.if you drill a hole through the side of your boat On the wk end i had the shaft on my bait pump rust through and the impeler snap off resulting in having to bucket water in manualy! (don't get the johnson pumps they are not stainless shafts!) I soon learnt that bucketing in water still was not enough sirculation to keep the squid alive as all died and i was bucketing alot of water through! I have just installed a new pump with a stainless shaft and it is capable of pumping 50l per min! Will keep you posted going to test it in about 6hrs! Dan.

Hey mate, I rigged up one of those 80l drums as a live bait tank! works a treat!!! Ive got 15mm hose as the inlet and 20mm outlet (overflow) U can but a kit that gives u a pump and pick up mounting bracket you just need to adapt it to the hose i used a brass fitting then a hose connector so i can plug it on and of easy!( you might want to invest in a stainless steel mount as the plastic ones do snap off! As far as the esky goes just drill through and bolt the inlet droper in and cut in your overflow! Dan.
