  1. Well done Brickman and daughter - fantastic catch and most of all good to see daddy spending quality time with his girl.
  2. Great shot Charlie - but heading should read "SPRING SUNRISE UNDER HARBOUR BRIDGE" lol. twin 1
  3. phil, whilst your boat is in motion ie drifting, moving from one spot to another or anchored - you will need your white light on. I find this great for safety, howver when you are sitting out of the major thoroughfares between 50 or so moored yachts which have nobody on board and are in darkness i believe that this is abit of overkill. 4. very tragic news Mike. Its about time we see the waterways get more visual inspector and police presence. I was at the ramp on friday night and could not believe the neglegence that I saw infront of me. Boats were being overloaded by people. No life jackets worn by adults or kids after sunset (new rule for boats under 4.8 m). Horrific speed and poor boat lighting to navigate. Forget the warning period - these people pull out the culture card or play ignorant when infact they know the fishing and water laws but refuse to abide by them. The cowboys need to be hit hard each and every time they break the laws which are in place for there own safety and the safety of others. Every time I am on the waterway I encourage the maritime to check out by boat and breath test me, they need to be more vigilant. Fishing in our waterways goes on 24/7 and the numbers of boaters who choose to fish late afternoon and into the night has ten folded so Marintime need to get out of there head that patrolling our waterways is a 9 to 5 job. 8. congratulations Waynie, Hope wife and bubs are doing well. Love the picture mare - looks like you too already have a special bond. With the bag limit reached it may be time to fix ( modify ) your tackle lol Twin 1
  9. Well done mate, No one should ever give up on anyone or push red tape and BS infront of you. You and you alone know your capabilities and limitations. Life goes by way too quick and to have someone dictate what you can and cant do to enjoy your life is totally wrong. You will feel like a new man out on the water with not a care in the world. I hope your licence and boat will bring you the freedom and happiness which you deserve. Twin 1.
  10. Great report Pete, You deserve to crack that big one soon mate. Hope the bite is good for you and Roberta. Twin 1
  11. I would like to see the minimum size limit go to 75 cm - this would be great for the sustainability of the species. To take home a jew of 45cm is criminal - dont get me wrong, I have done this when I caught my first jewie but over time I get more pleasure in releasing the fish of that size. The enjoyment of fishing is in the capture and fight that takes place when landing a fish, there is nothing wrong with taking home a feed as well. The bag limit should be 4 per person with any size after the 75 cm being allowed to take home. You would have to fluke it or be a super gun fisho to land this many and of this size in a session. With King fish - a fish 75cm and above is more than enough to take home and feed the family. Twin 1
  12. well done Greg on another super session, Bit hard when you cant have a As you mentioned Dan -it will only get better in the months ahead. Thanks for sharing Twin 1
  13. hey Allan, Get your outboard off the ERECTOMAX Good to hear with the wind and tilt issues you guys still managed a feed. Twin 1

  16. Dan- you and your brother are still the cool dudes setting the benchmark. If only we could be as persistant as both of you are. Jigging is hard work and a mugs game when you can get them easily on the livies. Kelzurd - the fish were taking yellowtail and pike. Twin 1
  17. welcome to the site, Well done Nate - by the sounds of it you had a good night. Thanks for sharing. Twin 1
  18. congratulations to you both. You make it look so easy- helps heaps when you can read and unpuzzle any waterway. Top effort. twin 1
  19. sURPRISINGLY NO JACKETS around and no bonnies Steve. Jim - jigs were around the 15 cm mark in no specific colour, make sure the hook is on top of the jig and not the other way round. Fish were sporadic and not holding in one location - they were continually on the move which made it alot harder. We spent more time trying to locate them than fish for them. They were holding in 50 to 70 metre mark. Twin 1
  20. Thanks for the response fellow Raiders- Most fish were caught on the live baits so it was well worth the effort spending some time catching the yellowtail. Most of the time the fish would take the live bait and then we would get a hit on the jigs as we thrashed it thru the school, the fish which had taken the livie sent the rest of the school in a frenzy and then they would take the jig. If we had rushed out to the kingie reef and not had the live bait we would have only caught 3 legal size. You tend to get the bigger kings on the live baits as the smaller ones are curious and will take the jigs. Nathan - the arms are sore but a nice sore if that makes sense. twin 1
  21. Mate make yourself up a berly consisting of bread and tuna oil add abit of sand and water and throw a hand full into the area you are fishing. You do not want to overfeed the fish just put enough in every now and then to keep them interested. The most important thing I can tell you is p iss the rods off and fish with a hand line when catching bait and learning to fish. The hand line allows you to feel more of the bite and will teach you when to strike. Use a very small pae sinker if you have to or if conditions allow use no sinker at all. With the hand line - pull line off the reel enough to cast say 4-5 metres and sit the hand reel under your feet and just fish with the line. Let the line fall at your feet when you pull in and throw the line back out. Use small pieces of bait and a smallish hook. The best places to catch live bait are the many wharves around the city
  22. Hit the Harbour today with Lumpookey and his son, gathered an assortment of bait from the bait grounds and headed off to the kingie grounds. Did abit of jiggie jig jig and set out the livies. The action was abit slow and we had to work hard for a feed. Water temp was good and we could have driven the boat to NZ as the conditions were perfect. Landed kings between 69 and 89 cm. Twin 1
  23. top jew mate and a great report to go with it. Thanks for sharing. Twin 1
  24. Top effort Jack- what a great specimen. Keep on doin what do best champ. Twin 1
  25. Im yet another very happy Dragons fan, we put on a bbq at home with the neighbours and set the projector up and watched the game outdoors on the big screen. I was crying with joy at the end, im turning 40 next year and this is the first grand final that the dragons have given us a win. Very proud of the team and the coach. Twin 1
