I'm heading to sydney tonight with the boat really wanna fish but to much wind and to bumpy the wife gets over it quickly.. My plan was to go to kunell ramp chase Kings and snapper or anything big n fun.. But wind Looks to be picking up quick S/SSW Any recommendations of where to go to be out of the wind were we can still fish/ drift/anchore. After anything really for the wife (flathead for me) So any protected areas from botany to lake Illawarra would be appreciated.. Thanks

i hope its ok i am re spooling my 3 shimano charter special reels with Platypus line.. hoping weather friday sat improves as i am hoping to hit Botany Bay for the first time and ill be targeting snapper and kings with those rods.. sick of the pickers, want some real fish

i dont want to hijack your thread, but i am looking at replacing my 27mhz radio for a vhf, i am in same position, will be going no further then fads.. what should i bee looking at when purchasing a vhf for my boat.? any tips or smal check list would be fantastic. thanks

yeah not watching my gps ( i ment find the holes ect during the day then mark) yeah always slow, mainly just after a good enough light just like a head light on a car to see whats infront on me ect

hi there, ill be heading to tuross lake - (only on the lake in the dark) next month and wanted to make the most of my fishing, so i would like to do some evening/ night fishing only from 5pm - 10pm times, not all night but it will be dark, my boat has all saftey lghts and gear, and enough lights to light the deck and cab, i am more concerned about driving in the dark, so i am looking at wats a good light set up for travel. can be wired through fuse and switch - or 12v plug or batteries i wont be going far and wide, i will mark a few spots on my gps so i go straight the and stay put. as said all saftey gear all boat lighting, anchor lights cab lights ect just nothing to see where i am going. and assistance or advice would be appreciated thanks Reese

heading to tuross for a week next month, anyone done any crabbing there, gonna be my second go at crabbing, i have been seeing lots of guys here catching alot and seems to be worth it. plus last time i was at lake illawarra i recon i saw 20 - 30 bouys out, couldnt belive it (in a smal area) hopefully ill be hitting the water next weekend eirther sydney or south coast, they will be my first go at crabbing, but i havnt seen anything for tuross, thought i would check before i haul the gear the for the holiday. thanks Reese

My dad owns aurion sports model.. 6speed quick, fuel Eco is good, and just towed my 5m half cab from canberra to batemans bay, towed easily.. Can't comment on maxima don't no much about it..

I was down there yesterday hoping to go off the heads for a reef fish but weather was horrible, come round snapper island and boats are almost disappearing.. Dam So up the Clyde we go, was lovely weather water was dirty could just see weed in 1m of water.. Had different baits and luers hardly even a nibble from pickers was horrible.. Went back to North boat ramp and trolled from there to snapper island and back for 6 tailor.. Very long day since I left canberra at 4... That's fishing.. But your day looked much better...

maybe work out a trip, for example do laps from tom uglys bridge out to botany heads (this is an example) once you have gone from the brge to heads and back to the bridge then check your fuel, from that you can look on google and roughly work out how many km you have done and how much fuel you have used, just take note on how you are driving the boat like seeds ect, this is one way to get a rough idea -

im an ETEC fan, and wth the water sports I Would lean to the etech for the hole shot, plus still nice economy, i also like the mercury, lighter then most four strokes and bigger block which means better torque, unsure how they will go with down low with water skiiing ect , just my opinion from the recent research i did.

Are good to no, based on my gps and the sanctuary map I though it was in there.. Last time I was fishing between snapper and tollgates there were a few boats South of tollgates off the southern headland.. Is there bouys showing the zone... Wanna make sure I stay out of the zones for sure.
