What SP's should i be using? What action should i use, and obviously i would fish reef and other structures. My Combo is a 1000 Stradic with 4lb rapala braid and a T curve bream rod 2-5kg, would that be enough? Thanks.

Thanks mate, this year has been the best ever for me. I haven't been offshore once and yea, i caught heaps hopefully the trend continues into 2008 where i will practice more C & R.

All mine have been achieved, First Jew 70cm 2 PB Flathead 75cm Bait, 80cm Lure 1 PB Whiting 45cm Catching Kings in the river new PB 65cm Getting into the squid consistently.

Nah it wasn't Mainbar where i had success but im sure you could snag acouple on the drop off during the run out.

For bream and whiting i find that the fishing is better after decent rainfall. What are your veiws? Iv heard that no, the fish are turned off with the influx of fresh water coming into the system.

Things are getting better and better, in the past week i have beat two PB's 80Cm flattie and a 45cm Whiting. I was throwing a 3inch Berkley powerbait in Pearl, we basically matched the hatch and in the whole session there was no need to change it up. Alot of the fish we caught did vomit up the bait in the area so it was pretty obvious in what they were targeting. I find after heavy rainfall like last night fishing is always better, that is when the water is a tea colour alot of the fish in my local come to the party.

Went out today for a quick 2 hour session fishing the flats on the run out. Landed 9 flatties, biggest went 80cm (Pb) (released) and the rest went from 35-50cm (All released bar one) , also landed a 30cm snapper and a 55cm Salmon. The port is firing again.

Does anyone find that the GULPS leak whilst in storage?

Yes you do get them in the hacking, but very rarely, most of them are found around Bate bay, is that where that 'big mudskipper' was caught?

I get them on 100mm fish silverfox squidgies.

Probs a bit late, but up towards the ends of the bays, Gymea, Yowie ect it got a bit murky. I like that when fishing for bream and whiting tho. Each to their own i guess.

Yea, haven't heard or seen much from the Hacking, only my last out on the 4/12/07 produced Whiting between 30-38 cm , Bream and Flounder. I don't try offshore fishing as i get sea sick, but the target species that i would go for come into the river anyway so with some patience i can snare some.

Scored 6 whiting at lilli pilli today on nippers, went 45 cm (pb) 36,33,33,31,30. One Flounder, and a Bream that went 28cm. We also got a blue swimmer crab and dropped another. Left Dolans bay boat ramp at 6am and returned home at 5pm all in all it was an enjoyable day except for the fact that it started pissing down when we arrived at Dolans bay. The Hacking is starting to fish well, haven't looked for Kings and jews yet but if recent reports are anything to go by it will start to fire very soon. Ill try and get some pics up very soon.

Yea it was a frantic rush before that storm hit, i guess you saw the blokes that were retrieving their large motor cruiser, well i was between them, we were the ones that were running around franticly trying to get the boat out of the water...

Shimano stradic FH's are made in Japan, where are the FR's made and is there any difference between the two reels?

Just got back not long ago, fished the runout tide today for whiting that went 38,31 and 30 cm A bream that went 29cm and a nice flounder. Its not bad, ill be out again tomorrow

Looking into getting one, the model # ends with FH and FI, what do these numbers mean and they say they are used for freshwater, would these reels differ from the ones that i would buy in the tackle store?

Yup thats correct or you could lift them up, check their underbelly. the triangular ones are male and the semi circle ones are female. That rule only applys to QLD does it? I believe that you can take females in NSW if they arn't baring eggs, is that correct?

Good result. The same thing happend to me last year except i was fishing them with live squid, they are very hard to hook up but never the less great work and great signs for this season:)

Would that be where the rapids are?
