  1. More rain the better, all the runoff flushes the system, this means that there is an extra food source for Whiting and bream, add to that the Bream arent as cautious due to the murky water. The best fishing i have done is after heavy rain when the water is brown as. I havent caught a King or Jew in the murky water but in saying that i have caught very few of either species.
  2. Sounds good, i never got a chance at the Jacks only the GTs, grunter and smaller Mackeral up round the rockwalls, if you want some good spots send me a PM.
  3. Good stuff, too bad about the fishing though. Did you fish LB at all? Its pretty good up that way, when its hot its hot. I have never hooked up to a Spanish mak but have hooked up to once of those big cod, they go hard don't they.

    New Toy

Cant go wrong with that! I have the lighter model T-Curve combo with a Stradic, that goes... Wish i could get into a Stella though, you wont be disappointed!
  8. There are massive flathead populations down there as well as leatheries and Red rock cod, from what I have seen they are only smallish, 30-40cm but you can occasionally get into the bigger ones like we have. Apparently the Bridge is a good jewfish spot but I am yet to land a jew there, you need to be careful as the water really races through that area.
  9. Hi, I was just wondering if anyone could post some information up about 'Blades' they seem to be the new fad, I am yet to try them but wouldn't mind giving them a go after reading some of the reports posted up here recently. Now can someone please post a photo? Approximate price range? The way in you would work this lure? Thank you.
  10. Whenever i come across it i give up.

    Whiting 27/09

Cheers mate, nah i just lifted him straight onto the slipway so it couldn't have been because of that, its strange eh. Yea he was just on the edge of the drop off, thats how i target flatties, came up with a whiting but. O they are great eating so you did well, was he caught on bait or lure?
  12. Went 40cm, my second best behind the one i have in the bait fishing records. It took a green/pearl 3 inch bassminnow on the outoging tide in the port hacking. thanks First fish for this season, looks rather retarded. it was pleasing because i got him sight fishing which is also a first. Was hoping to get into some flathead but i havent been able to get some for some time which is frustrating.
  13. Thanks man, and lucky for me it was caught about a 2 min walk from my house!
  14. Caught last summer, biggest to date on bait and lures.
  15. Hey what is the other fish? There is a flathead and??? Thanks.
  16. Correct me if im wrong, but isn't Ship Rock a marine park closed to fishing?
  17. LOL, yea and Orford is much better? Its funny that noddy is rated one of the worst 1/2 backs yet he never fails to outplay Orford haha
  18. I raise the question because today, my grandfather who has been fishing in the port for 50 years landed one today! It went about 2.5kg and looked very healthy to me, now the question is do they live there or did someone throw it in as a joke cause if they do live there its taken us a hell of a long time to discover them!
  19. Ill second that, i think it is a box fish, they are hard as a rock?
  20. Port Hacking gets better after rain, as the water flushes the system the bream and whiting come out to play. My best session on SP's was actually straight after a heavy downfall.
  21. I have no idea, but pound for pound would they go harder than kings?
  22. They can get nasty under the gills. razor sharp they are!
  23. Yup that is a grinner, i got one on a 2.5inch Gulp! shrimp the other day, a real pest they are.
  24. 'If bled and cleaned immediately they taste alright if shallow fried, cut into either fillets or cutlets.
