Yea or you could use an aerator, also keeping them in Salt water will keep them alive, i have found the lesser amounts of water to be better. Just make sure you are changing the water as much as possible.

You don't need to spend money to catch squid, its in the technique. Expensive jigs will improve success rates when they are slow, but when the squid are on they will hit a cheap jig. Cheap jigs= When action is hot Expensive jigs= When they are fussy they are the way to go, they sink better and have a better action. My favorites are orange, pinks and multi colours. I hear black goes alright too! No one can really recomened a size because that depends on conditions but, if you are going for one go for something that you can get to the bottom around structure . For most stuff i go 1.8 or 2. That means i can get both small and big ones. Best of luck.

One bait one hit, IMO jews can be fussy go the big 6/0 octopus circle through the back of the tail. Use minimum weight to make it natrual. Use a heavy trace, just recently a jew bit through my 17lb trace so dont be suprised.

Yea thanks for the advice boys. I know its not always favorable to fish unweighted but do you think because it was weighted the jew might of got a sense that the squid wasn't natural. I was using a size 2 ball sinker.

No not always the case, sometimes they will muck around with the bait. Ill go wed and let you know how i go. BTW how do you use two hooks if your using a livie?

I fish live baits, eg squid. I get takes starting slow then long runs. I let them take it for about 10 seconds then strike. I fish with a live squid aprox 10cm long and a 8/0 suicide hook. What am i doing wrong? I strike to early? I let it take more line, i dont strike at all? It happend to me heaps on sat night. Pick ups and drops. PLz help me land my 2nd.

I got mine not long ago and thought the test was pretty easy, actually very easy. As it was my first time i was quite surprised on how little you had to do to gain your P's like, only 1 park, (Reverse parallel), Curbside stop, 3 point turn and of course obeying the road rules. But actually doing these simple things in the test is another can of worms, Anyway mate best of luck next time
