  1. Im surprised you got a legal snapper!!! Biggest ive ever caught was 27-28ish, where abouts did you find the golden child? Hahahaha I have a few free days towards the end of feb, hoping to get into some kings around lilli pilli if anyone is keen to get out
  2. Hey mate thanks for the advice , I'm using the soft ones atm and they work fine, but I just upgraded to a bigger kayak and its denting my roof a little so I'm looking at proper solid roof racks. The stitching hasn't been an issue for me yet but i check them every trip and it seems they are being stretched. I think they're great for 3m or under kayaks and for use with only 1 kayak. I've been in contact with Ian from Road runner and will probably go to him for help
  3. Thanks Derek! I've seen some foam pads for the rack and was thinking about getting some to rest the kayak on so it won't damage as i put it on and off. Thanks for the advice! I will take that all into account when setting mine up
  4. Thanks lads, ill go have a look when i have time
  5. Offt i would but im taking my dad on a charter to try get into some kings :'(
  6. Hey guys, Does anyone know where i can get roof racks installed for my 2012 honda civic hatch? I live in bexley. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated please pm me if commenting places is not allowed!
  7. Awesome, thank god they aren't pests. I was reading that they were a pest species in the U.S so I was hoping it wasn't a case of those walking, climbing fish thats making its way into our systems haha
  8. It was pure black everything, even the fins if that helps Pretty unique looking fish, definitely felt very unique. If it helps, we caught it from under a rock LOL
  9. it was pure black, which surprised me, never seen a fish as dark. I just read that they were an invading species Maybe i shoulda kept it in the livie bucket to take home haha
  10. Nope sorry :'( those two were the only ones that came out clear on camera. I just googled the goby and I think thats it. Never seen one in the hacking before though, weird but cool at the same time
  11. HAHAAHHAHA thats exactly what my mate thought!! He called dibs on naming rights if its a new species LOOL
  12. Went out with a few mates today to target mullet around swallow rock. We were using my special dough recipe when my friend pulled this out from 3m of water. I have no idea what it is. It felt soft, sticky and slimy. Pretty weird but pretty cool fish, was about 8cm long.
  13. Hehe thanks mate! Good job love that my cubing technique is still working
  14. Wooo Awesome job!! Yak kingies are the best cant wait for my next trip out
  15. Helllllloooooooo fellow yakkers. I have an idea, just trying to see if it will work. If any raider is looking for partners, wanting to plan a meet or planning a daytrip please post here. For all Raiders interested, please subscribe to this thread to get updates I think the easiest way to do it is to follow a template: Date: Time: Location: Launch Site: Target species (Optional): If you are going to go to attend the session just respond so the organiser knows who will be attending and enjoy the trip. This will give us a chance to meet new people and make new friends. Friends who fish are friends to keep hahaha What do you guys think?
  16. No worries Donna Nature is just too amazing!!!
  17. For those of us that frequent the Hacking. By chance did anyone see this shark? If not this is pretty cool! http://www.iflscience.com/plants-and-animals/all-white-great-white-shark-leucism-washes-australia
  18. Holy sh*t, thats a straight up back breaker of a fish. It'll feed a family for a year haha, must've been a great fight.
  19. Done matty sent you a big response, lemme know if you need more help
  20. Thanks for the support guys :') i had a dream once i had a fishing show that featured a new raider every week. What do you guys think? if i could enter my kingies, that would be awesome. Im on my phone atm down in melbourne, so ill attempt to put it in the section when i get back to syd.
  21. Thanks BigRod if i could submit my video!!! I'd be heaps happy What do you think Donna?
  22. Hey bro, i know that feel too haha, bought a livie bucket, lost it on the second trip as it fell out the kayak, then bought a brand new anchor, also lost it on the second trip.... looks like it's a one time use sorta thing :'( devs bro! I fee ya
  23. No issues thus far, although itll be best not to leave it in the sun i guess haahah. My first application of silicon (not allclear) did come off after a rough day of my battery box sliding around and smacking the foam holder. I think sanding the surface of the yak would help with the sticking.
  24. Agreed with Derek, just make sure you make it airtight Nate with no airbubbles, i made sure to squish the transducer into my foam holder and rolled it a little til it squeezed out the air bubbles, then i put some weight on it to let it dry over the next day or two. I just ziptied the remaining cable to one of the scupper hole tubes.
