  1. The Battleship Say hi if you see me out
  2. Nice job mate! If you're ever down south, I might bump into you You can look for my sand coloured battleship! #wishiwasactuallysponsored...
  3. He was borrowing his mate's wife's sport and his rod fell out of the holder so he tried to lean over and get it. Went straight into the water, luckily he went for a swim and got his 2 rods and net back. Thanks mate! I haven't been fishing seriously for a long time, so every fish thats bigger than the last gets me pretty excited HAHAHA.
  4. Hahah Thanks mate. I would love to give you the recipe except i have no idea how my mum made it. I think you start off by pan frying the fillet then slowly adding a bit of soy sauce, sugar, shallots, garlic, a few slices of ginger and of course chilli. Let it simmer till the sauce turns kind of thick but still runny and it should be done Goodluck, if my mum shares the full recipe, I will update it!
  5. Thanks everyone!! Im an aspiring powerlifter and the kingies have put more hurt on my body than the weights do. Safe to say, i should fish more!! HAHHA my back is really feeling it today. Looking forward to catching bigger models soon
  6. Thanks everyone! I didn't think berleying was too important before either but after today, i can guarantee all old pillies are getting chopped up and thrown around the yak everytime i go out hahaha. pillie cubes Thanks mate still need to get as good as you
  7. Hahah yes, used 80% of my pillies berleying hahahah
  8. Hey Raiders, I hope everyone got out today! The weather was immaculate. I'll keep it nice and short. Went out to lilli pilli today for a fish and the goal was the catch my first ever kingy! Safe to say mission accomplished (crying with joy right now). I've been wanting to catch a king for ages and it finally happened today! Couldn't be happier. Thanks to all the raiders that gave me advice. Also I bumped into two other kayak fisherman this morning so if you fellas are on this forum, say hello As you guys know, I've taken to editing all my trips now into videos, so I'll mostly give you video reports. Hope my amateur fishing is enough to keep you guys entertained And also the missus got my a gomoku kaiten to help with catching the kings, does anyone have any suggestions as to what reel would match this beautiful rod? Help would be appreciated. Any how enjoy the video! Fish went: 63cm 65cm 68cm New years sashimi sorted and a fillet for dinner tonight cooked in chinese soy and chilli marinade.
  9. Farout sounds like a mad day Rod, everyone seemed to have a great day today, good job! Uploading my youtube video as I type this hehe
  10. Im still pretty new to the lures and braid game myself, but pretty much my main line is braid followed by a simplified FG knot to about 1-2 rod lengths worth of fluro and either a norman speed clip or asari clip (Or just straight to the lure if I feel like knot tying). Thats pretty much it.. haha I've been told that swivels etc effect the action of the lures a bit, although im still an amateur so I don't really know just how bad that it but I'm guessing it's unwanted. All my outfits run the same sort of system now even the ones for throwing bait. hope it helps and I hope an expert steps in for a few more tips I can mooch off of too hahaha
  11. Hey Krause, Hope Christmas was great Here are some pics of my setup, it worked fine with very little interference when I initially set it up. However the first batch of silicon i used peeled off for some reason so i switched over to selley's allclear and stuck it back in. I made the green holding thing out of a foam mat. It seems to hold just fine so far. Cable are run up through a waterproof grommet, although the connectors on the elite-4x are too big..... to properly go through the hole, I cut the grommet and slotted them in and superglued it back together. It's holding pretty well so far with a piece of tape giving it some reinforcement, just a bit ugly cosmetically. Battery box is at the front of the yak to help a little bit with balancing, its pretty much just a waterproof lunch box and I stuck on some ultra durable velcro to the box and the yak to stop it from sliding around. Temperature wise the transducer will equalise with the water once you are out for around an hour or so, or longer depending on how hot the sun is as you're driving out to the location as the kayaks do pick up some heat on the way there. Other than that, the downscan seems to work fine, i usually pick up the rocks and sticks underwater throughout the hacking and the anchors etc, but I'm still a rookie user of the sounder so I would double check that with other Raiders. I would have like to RAM mount the sounder to the yak but $$$ so I skimped out and just used the front two screws LOL.

  21. Hey buddy, I've been making videos as a hobby for quite some time now. At first it's really complicated and confusing but after some tutorials on youtube and some practice it becomes really fun. Once you add your own artistic touch, it becomes a great hobby to go out and capture all your fun moments. Beware though, it's really time consuming and has quite a heavy strain on your computer. The costs involved are fairly minimal, there are some great free video editing softwares out there such as the gopro studio, and sometimes the older powerdirector editing programs become free (definitely recommend for beginners). I personally have switched over to adobe premier pro and I'm still getting used to a couple of the settings. So pretty much the costs of making videos is a program and cameras haha. Oh and the cost of music is really expensive if you do want the license for it, and I don't have that sort of cash, so I opt for royalty free, creative license music. There are heaps of channels on youtube that provide it My personal video making stash: -Adobe premiere pro -Gopro Hero 3+ black -Gopro Hero 4 Silver -Almost every gopro accessory available -Handheld Zhiyun Z1 Evolution Gimbal for dry filming You can check out the rest of my youtube channel for my filming styles Also thanks heaps for all the positive comments guys, I really appreciate that people actually watch the clips I make :')
  22. Oh Sweet!!! Hahaha, yeah it was quiet that day, I remember you guys pumping a few nippers too. Did you manage to pick up any fish after I left? Glad to see Raiders wherever I go
  23. Thanks The day I pick up a legal pinky will be a very very happy day!! hahahaha
  24. Hey Raiders, Last week Krause and Razzell met up with me at Yowie to go for a fish. I arrived just too late to pick up a few livies but Krause was kind enough to share a few! Thanks heaps!!! Safe to say being out on the water from around 6am-3pm, it was a quiet day picking up pinkies. It was good to meet the boys and just get out onto the water after my exams. Yesterday, I decided to take a couple of my friends out onto the water to explore in their kayaks, they've recently bought inflatable ones for the sake of convenience and they actually work really well (secretly waiting for the day they go through some oysters for a good laugh). So we hit the hacking again, this time in the calmer waters of the swallow rock area. I had decided to go a full day on lures as I have never done that before... and now I can confim I have converted to a lure lover and I'm sure my wallet is going to feel it this christmas... I never knew how fun it could be. A few casts of the zman grub and I pick a up a nice snapper going 27cm. The most interesting catch of the day was a luderick on a hot chip from a handline LOL. Anyhow, we ventured into some creeks and I had a flick of the grub picking up my first EP!! Pretty exciting day and It was a great day to be out of the water with a few mates having a good laugh. TL,DR. You can watch the vid I made of both days
  25. Not much around whilst flicking lures, mainly the zman grub. Pick up a snapper and an EP, thats about it
