  1. STOKED. As ya would be. Sounds like ya had a great day in the ''serviced'' launch.
  2. Yeah Ray, I remember reading your post re: Raven. Good to see you managed to outsmart that bugger Though you caught squat, at least you had the chance to get out and about, which is more than I can say about yours truely. That was my plan, but a phone call from the man saw me rockn' up for a 10hr overtime shift today (6am - 4pm) Still, as usual a great report and great pics. Will keep an eye out for you down there, the missus and I like to fish down that way on week days on my rostered days off, just up from the camping/c'van park. Cheers Ray HOBBITT (ROD)

  5. Had a GR8 lil' tinnie Stessl 9.9 Suzuki and all the gear for about 3yrs, sold that for this gem. Seen out off Rafferty's Resort....... Lake Macquarie Thanks Rod.
  6. Would have loved nothing more than either a quick LB flick, or a session from the tinnie today, as the missus was on a day off, and I'm on the last couple of days rec leave. However, winter has decided that it just might return to the Central Coast for a spell. (And why not - I'm on hols) OF COURSE ! Anyways me and the boss chucked a few goodies in the car and drove to nowhere in particular, ended up driving down to Wisemans ferry, stopping along the way for a half ar##d flick B4 we got to the ferry. Once there we went to the bowling club for lunch (sea food plater) and a hit on the one armed bandits, we lost. Drove over to the park, walked around there, checked out the beach area and bought an ice cream and spoke to old mate at the shop, asked him what the fishing was like this far up, he reckons that about 10 to 15 years ago, it was fairly fresh water, but now it's more salt than fresh, a couple holes hold jews and ya get bream etc this far up now. So, Roberta, if you read this post before you go to Wisemans, maybe check it out ? Whilst I'm on this subject, can anyone give us heads up on this area, is it worth a try ?? or should I just stick to the good ol' Lake Macquarie.. ?? Here are a few pics.
  7. G'day "H" Please tell me you increased the pic size to say, 180%..... PLEASE! Tell me I'm not the only little blind raider here.
  8. How sweet it is. Lake balls ?? Just love the lake eh.
  9. Hello raiders. Well today saw me looking after the tin lids and some of their friends down at The Entrance. The hugs n kisses was left to slave away at work Whilst I did the "dad" thing. Scored a few points here I think The kids from Lakes High were performing on centre stage, and I became chief taxi driver, parent, guardian and with all this activity, did manage to allow myself to be led into temptation from another "dad" and so, with next to no resistance I was escorted into the tavern for a sly ale, argh lifes hard for us dedicated dads ya know. So anyway, that's about it from me, for now. A bit dull I know but it's the best I can do. Photos would have been the go, but guess who forgot the blasted camera ? AGAIN !
  10. The "boat" is moored in a pub, (tavern) up the Gold Coast. When we were up there, doing the theme parks etc, I caught up with my brother in law (Steve) who lives near Big Brother land in a place called Coomera, near Sanctuary Cove.... Anyways, this is Steve's local watering hole, and he tells me that the local boat building joint actually built it for the tavern. We all had a feed and a few drinks there that night, let me tell ya, none of us left there hungry, a great night out, good place, good food, very relaxing.
  11. It's been a long time coming, but here they are. Stacer 3.9 25hp Johno' Mostly in at Lake Macquarie off from Raffertys Resort.
  12. Here are some of the photos that were taken at Sea World
  13. Glenn, belated birthday wishes for you. I am so with Hodgey (G'day "H") Wise words from the lizard wisperer, my youngest, Cameron, 13 has over the years shown his own personality as well, hhmmm like Hodgey said, just wait till he starts playing with your fave toys, Anyways, hope mum, dad and bub are well. Congratulations to you both on your ''lil monster''
  14. OH SLINKY>>>> As you know, I'm on rec leave, and have just had a week up on the Gold Coast. Reading your post makes me a little green with envy, argh... good luck champ, wish it was me. We loved it up there, I'm afraid that unless that big red ball doesn't come crashing down on my roof, It's gunna be the Cental Coast (Gods country) for Hobbitt and family. Look forward to your fishing conquest stories from Nth of the boarder.
  15. "H" Old fella eh ? Oh well, ya get that on the big job. thanks brother. Slinkymalinky Rec leave YES, fishing YES, YES. Thanks Slinky. FIGJAM I will NEVER catch you up, lol.... Thanks for the birthday wishes. Jewgaffer hey bloke, hope ya doing ok on the fishing front, thanks mate. Forliano Hey Ben, thank you too. PeterS Thanks Pete, and YES still very happy with the new toy. Thanks.
  16. Great catch. All 3 eyes light up eh.. Yeah, I was born n raised, Sutho. Fished the upper reaches of the wonnie n the needles etc, and did fairly well up there, ok it's been 30 odd yrs since but, like you my 3 eyes are all good, even though the fish glowed green at night, must of been the fall out from the reactor In fact, in the next few weeks I hope to hit the wonnie again with an ol mate of mine. Is the Bonnet Bay boat ramp still there ?? As a kid I used to ride my dragstar around there, then it was just bush, we used to call it the mud flats, and it used to be a small tip. This ramp is between the one off the Wonnie bends and the mouth of Como. Just wondering if it's still there, and still usable. Thanks Rod.
  17. Sorry to hear of your ''loss'' Sorry to say..... I laughed my #rse off Sorry to say..... That sort of thing happens to me I'm thinking ol' mate may have had a quiet little chuckle to himself as well ?? Oh well, Mr Percival had a nice feed, at your expense. Seriously though, you got out, gave the sp's a bash, and came up trumps (or is this a story about the one that got away).... Sure beats the hell out of sitting around on your dot !! Ya know, I can see your face now, thinking about it Great read, have a better day next time. Rod.
  18. Hey all, Today being the first day of my 3wks rec leave, and school hols' thought I might indulge myself and take the young bloke out for a session. Full tank of go juice, food and drinks along with rods n stuff we launched at Dora Ck, and drifted about the lake, young Cameron missed out, and the ol' dog caught his usual whiting n bream. Nothing to write home about.... NO keepers today But a great day out with my lil' mate... Home now, boat cleaned and gear all stowed away, hhmmm and a mild dose of sun burn. Got to be happy with that
  19. NICE !! SP, Don't ya just love em. Well done, and yes..... Good luck 4 the social all you Raiders' Ive been up since 3am, can't sleep, and I have a big day ahead of me, so I will miss the event BUT... will be there in spirit. Be Safe, Have Fun...
  20. Had only one stab at it 0.235 (Bobbing Bobcat)......... And I drive trucks for a living "H'' Me thinks ya got way to much spare time on your hands.
  21. Yeah Gav, bloody hell I miss the Wonni, I take it you caught the fish ? Just a quick reply here this morning, bloody tired eh. Ended up calling an ambulance for Cam, for his asthma. Chook was at work, she got home as the ambos turned up, she went with Cam in the ambulance, and I drove down to the hospital, came home about 10pm, grabbed a bit of shut eye, now Im to work Good to hear from you, and yes we will have to hook up, maybe I can tow the ol girl down to the Wonni.
  22. Hello raiders. Today the young bloke (Cameron) and I were going out on Lake Macquarie, bbuuttttt, those wind blasts kept the launch safely under cover in the garage, and so, armed with the best top shelf bait and rod n reel combos known to man (on strugle street) we drove to a little hide away spot and cracked open the frozen n re-frozen servo prawns and baited up our no frills rods with the most gungy looking crap prawn bait. Being the ever so wise one, I baited Cams rod up and cast it out for him, like ya do, walked over to my little man and, just as I was about to hand over this ever so expensive rod n reel baited up with prime bait. WHACK. Look out, I reeled in a nice 27cm fat bream. THANK YOU VERY MUCH. First prawn, first cast all within 15 seconds. Now, that's what I'm talking about. To top it off, we caught a couple more bream but, they were returned to fight another day. The wind played havoc with Cams asthma, resulting in a shortened day at waters edge, so with equipment washed and put away, one breambo in the fridge for Cam to have for dinner tonight, Hobbitt and son will sign off for now. Cheers, tight lines.
  23. Well, finally got to put the Hobbitt launch in the drink, would have been ideal had we been able to put it in on Sat, but the boss had to work and so did I, well at least I was s'posed to work but I umm was, umm, very ''sick'' coz I had to arrange some things for today, and vote and stuff.... Woke at sparrows fart, departed shortly afterwards, with a little gut feeling it may be a crap day, this was proven to be the case, typical isn't !!! Ya have a new boat up in ya garage for a week, and ya take it out for a play, and it all turns pear shaped. It started out just fine, great in fact, the crew wanted to just go for a bit of a cruise before wetting a line, which we did. All good. Now with food, drinks, rods, lures, bait and various other goodies on board, we headed out, full steam to our "spot'' and then, over the radio we heard over the radio coastguard, all boats, wind warning. HHmmm, ???? To stay or not ???? Well, B4 I cut the motor it came up worse than a mother in laws kiss, (sorry all you mother in laws) Time to head back, just to be on the safe side, after all it is only a 3.9mtr 25 Johno... The ol girl was fully loaded and was put to the test, we ended up drenched, but she handled better than I could ever have hoped for. Don't know that the crew will ever speak to me again. OOPS. So, at days end, boat tested, no chance of a fish, soaked to the bone, team Hobbitt NOT speaking to me and no fishing at all. Had a blast, can't wait to get out again real soon.
  24. "H".............. Well, voting done. New battery for the boat, bought and installed. Boat packed and ready for maiden voyage. OH YEAH, and.... Doctors certificate organised for uummm, cough cough splutter splutter : - ( Today. Will be on the water early, and hope to wet a line, but that depends on the crew.
