Yeah that wind sorta ruined it,
i remembered you from the neilsen park sesh
a couple of weeks ago mate, you looked very busy
at the helm yesterday while Rob was at the back on rod duty.
Did you catch the 95 where we were yesterday?
yeah it is probably an Amberjack very similar at that small size
often confused with samsons had beautiful light purple shoulder colouring
with a slight band over the eye ...... and a light yellow coloured line
running the length of the body at lateral line when i bled it...... which species is it
anyone ??Seriola Fasciata or Hippos??????????????
it was caught on a fresh INKY squid head
Hit The Harbour this morning for a bash
managed to get 20 odd squid .....lucky
anchored up at around 6am and persisted in one spot.
Ended up with 8 Kings,2x Sampsons and a 50 cm Tailor
....a couple of the kings had followers
so i dropped another bait after landing the first to get the follower
and was successful twice...... a bit chaotic on your own but
great fun smallest king was 63 and the biggest was around 73 or so
Here are some pics..
I kept the first king i landed which was 68 cm and the second sampson as the first was only 40 cms everything alse was released!
yeah Dan it was a beautiful day ..
My son sat down after battling the 70 cm king and said
"now i know why you do this!" haha he had a dumb grin on his face
for the rest of the day!! Im out on monday if your out ill see you then mate!
Rod i hope your getting better ..recovery is a bitch.
Mate the young bloke caught both his kings on yakkas
and i have never caught a king on a yakka!!!..only squid!!
so he has one upped me there
cant wait to see you downrigging everything in site mate
get well
Cheers mate
Jason
Took my son and his mate out on sat for a romp
on the harbour to see if i could get them onto their
first kings........
all in all they landed 2 each with me getting one
(i was busy )
Biggest was a 70 cm caught by my son Jarrah
as you can see hes pretty happy
His mate with a FAT 65
Also hooked up with Timo1 and Dano1
Beautiful day on the harbour
cheers
Mike its still good to make contact with a hoodlum....even if it is brief
I took my son and his mate out yesterday and they are no longer
king virgins Jarrah (son) caught a 70 cm and a 65
his mate caught two 65's and myself one 65
I am yet to land a king with a yakka but my son landed
both of his fish on yakka..... can you believe it!
any way in regards to braid i use either the biminitwist to connect my braid to
leader......or the albright knot.
Then only ever use the uniknot for connecting swivels and hooks because its quick and easy and strong.
Cheers Mike
Jason
Mate bad luck, was hard slog today
thats for sure
i took Dan from Dan and Greg out today
Hung out with Dano1 for the day too
he got a nice 70 cm king
we got 10 arrows and 3 southerns
2 legal kings and a throw back
shitloads of rain/wind horrible conditions
good company though
Cheers Mate
nice work man
apparently THE ONLY WAY the aussie salmon can be eaten
is if you put the fillets in a smoker and smoke them fresh
they come out firm/white/ dripping and taste great
big white chunks of juicy flesh
