  1. Consistent outtings mate always with results ,well done cant wait to get out of middle harbour and into the main harbour for summer sessions. cheers
  2. When u look at the body shape, which is roundish the caudal and dorsal rays are long and when extended add to propulsion, so coupled with the body shape almost half the body is like a big fin ,hence the great amount of strength . i personally hate the buggers and they stink!
  3. Hey buddy when you hook a surgeon on 60lb braid they head shake, and fish of around the 60cm mark can take a 5/0 hook easily. Heres a 60cm fish caught last year with a 6/0 hook in it cheers
  4. They actually go as hard as a king at first but die off a bit quicker. They have a constant head shake when fighting them. Caught a few in middle harbour at anchor while targeting kingfish, every time they took fresh squid on a 5/0 octopus hook.

  7. well done buddy!! Nothing beats that feeling of completion when it all finally comes together and you land your first keeper king! Now the addiction begins in ernest as you realise your methods actually produced and can potentially produce more fish!! cheers

  12. You know its funny you say that, notice the smallest one has a ding in its body, it was the first one i hooked up too as i was pulling it in the biggest one was attacking it all the way to the boat, absolutely smashing it!! bites out of its tentacles and body!! I pulled in the smaller squid and the big fella went straight under the boat. I dropped the jig back under the boat and whack !! the big squid grabbs the jig straight away literally 4ft of line out!! So not only snapper like to eat squid it seems they like to eat each other or are extremely violent to each other if one has what another wants.....
