  1. Great session guys and good to get on top of gear troubles. Fantastic bag of luds!! The accesability of private access must be golden!
  2. I had some good reports from up your way too. Get out there, they are pretty cooperative atm:)
  3. That is a great session; gentlemens' hours, great conditions, non stop downs, fat fish and a feed for the table
  4. Woke a bit late and had the yak in about 8:30am. I was hoping for a feed to take home for a BBQ coming up. Picked up a couple of poddies near the ramp (for later on), headed out for troll in the shallows and picked up a nice flatty on a resurrected HB that I coated with my wife's pink nail polish! I was waiting for the tide to start running a bit harder before dropping the liveys down and the boats & jet skis were getting fairly thick all around the river. After a few more runs, the flats weren't producing so I headed over to my deep water spot, lined up my landmarks and dropped the first livey down. It lasted all of two seconds and I brought up a very feisty flatty of 65cm. One more livey and one more drop, pretty much as soon as I felt the sinker dropper on the bottom; sure enough another good flatty of 58cm. With no more livies, I did another drift with my Samaki Thumper Tail vibe and didn't have to wait long before another flatty of 57cm. These three fish came from the same hole, in the space of 10 minutes and in the full view of marauding jet skis and wake boarders! With a feed on ice I headed into shore. Pretty happy with the fast a furious action.
  5. Nice outing, was the water crowded? I thought about doing the same but slept in!
  6. On Thursday I finally wet the yak after a month of madness at work. Launched at 8am with iffy tides but a nice cover of clouds and light S/E winds. Trolled the flats and picked up a lolly-pop squid which was very quickly hooked onto a livey rig and peddled over to one of my favourite deep water spots. Right on time at the very end of the run out, I dropped the morsel into the depths and it wasn't long before there was weight on the end of the line, head shakes and a decent fight, a beautifully marked flathead slipped into the net. I wanted to get a good video of the release so peddled over to the nearby shore. She came in at 81cm and swam off like an Olympian:). The rest of the day was pretty much noneventful with three small flatties taken home for a feed. Check out the vid of the release....great feeling to see the big girl go back in and check out the markings over the river bed:) https://youtu.be/aB2oviVJHRg
  7. Hit the Georges this afternoon for a couple of hours on the run out tide. Started shallow just off my launch ramp and picked up a healthy flatty of 58cm on a hard body. As I slipped the fish into my ice slurry she spiked me and my knuckle swelled up instantly! Headed over to a deeper drain on the other side of the river and picked up a couple more flatties and lost a very good fish to a poor knot. With a half hour of time left I hit a shallow bank and was hit by a freight train on a VX 40, I thought it may have given me some PB joy but I was still pleased with a plump big girl of 75cm. I gave her a tow with the lip grips and she bolted off to the bottom. Karma then brought me two more fish on the way back to the ramp. Lost two VX40s to crappy knots but had a great arvo.
