  1. Hello raiders I am off to Hong Kong next week for quick holiday with mates. If anyone has any advice on where to buy tackle could you please send me a PM with the details. I have searched the site for info already but thought id ask as well just incase anyone had anything else to add. All help is appreciated. Cheers
  2. Onya boys, happy bday!! Is Greg moving back Dan? Is he sick of being beached in the middle of croc infested waters in the middle of that QLD heat
  3. Well done mate, nice flatties.
  4. Hi gary You can do both mate. Whenever i smoke fish i always do at least 2 fish because i always devour 1 hot. Normally have a few mates around at the same time. It is unreal hot! You can have it cold on a fresh piece of bread or on cracker. Either way it is awesome.
  5. excellent thanks mate. Ive had the pump back there for so long but it only pumps water when ive stopped and i switch it on. Ive noticed when i get a lot of live bait and im changing spots a %% of my bait is dying. I didnt know all you had to do was drill the whole through the blue bracket and get the scoop. I thought it was going to be some massive costly exercise that would take ages to do! Thanks for your help.
  6. Yeah thanks mate. That looks like what im after. So do I just drill the hole in the blue cap and then sit the bilge flat on the bracket above the hole and thats it?
  7. Hi raiders Is anyone able to tell me how you install the stainless steel pick up onto my bilge pump? I just came back from the boat shop and they were know help, even though they sell them! I have looked on the bottom of my pump and there doesnt seem to be a whole on the bottom of the blue cap for the water to go through while driving. Am I suppose to drill that myself? The bracket I was looking at was an "L" shaped bracket with the little bit of curved pipe which curves under the boat. Any help is appreciated. Cheers Dan
  8. well done mate, thats a horse.
  9. I see your still doing it tough since moving up there Tony, well done mate.
  10. Well done mate, thats a solid catch first up!
  11. hey Steve How bout them Roosters mate, back to some winning form! The screen for the console is coming this weekend, its just getting bent up. I did want to put some grab rails on the console but when were driving we use the side rail which goes right around the boat. Definitely running all the wires through conduit under the floorboards pinned to the frame. The floor doesnt go all the way to the transom, im thinking about running it from the top of the rear bench seat to the transom though. There is already a bilge pump back there and ill make a hatch for the fuel tank, ill be able to get to the bilge from the fuel hatch. Ill definitely be sealing the ply, scammed that from my coach. The rod holders will be bolting on to the front of the unit, its not attached yet but it holds 4, one of standard rocket launchers. Anything else me be sure to fire it off to me. Cheers
  12. Gday mike What is underfloor floatation? Sorry im not sure what it is. In the bench seats going across they are full of foam is that what you mean? Under the floor ill be putting the life jackets and oars. I did want to put a fish bin under there but its not deep enough unfortunately
  13. Gday raiders After a couple weeks of shit weather I finally managed to start my makeover to the boat on the weekend. I wanted to get a new centre console, replace my floor with under floor storage compartments and shift the weight around so the boat is better balanced. Last week a mate came over and measured up my old centre console unit and made me a new one out of stainless. I purchased some new marine speakers and cd player, a new detachable all round white light, a GPS holder, switch board panel to run all my lights pumps etc. He managed to weld up the new unit in a week and was around on saturday to drop it into place. I ripped up the floor boards and ran all the wires back to the start of each item. My old footy coach owns a plywood company so I scored a couple sheets of marine ply. On Sunday I started work on the floor boards. I put a hatch in the front for the anchor and will run 2 hatches on the back deck for life jackets oars etc in between the bracing/struts. I chucked in an anchor hatch and will be making up something for the anchor to sit in. Tonight we measured up the new seat that is going in. The old one takes up to much space. The new one will have a hinged compartment for my batteries, tackle draws and a compartment for my cooker on the top of it. This should be completed this weekend ready to drop in. First thing this weekend I will be going to the carwash and giving it a good clean out. This Saturday another mate will be over to complete all the wiring. Once thats completed ill be giving the ply a few coats of paint and then carpeting it up and finishing up the under floor storage. I need to work out what I am going to do with the back section of my boat. Currently the fuel tank is in the back left corner, I want to shift it to the middle and then drop another couple of storage units on the sides. Ill post some pics of the back piece in case anyone has some ideas for me. Stay tuned for more. I would appreciate any advice, tips or hints anyone may have. Cheers
  14. Well done guys, thats awesome!
  15. Gday If the bloke did have it in reverse he would be in some deep brown stuff if his knot came loose from the pontoon. My boats a 4.7m tinnie and i tie up and retreive solo all the time from Tunks. All I do is, come in and tie up, preferably on the side closest to the ramp. Grab the car and put it in position. (The rope I tie off with is long enough to walk right around from the pontoon to the car) Then you just give the boat a little push off the pontoon and walk it over.
  16. How did use go yesterday Steve. Knowing my luck use probably smashed it!! How about the dam chooks on Saturday !#$% I took them as well.
  17. Looks like a nice snapper too. Well done you brave human.
  18. Well done on the bonnies mate. Good to know as im heading out the front on the weekend. The close FAD has been removed for winter maintenance.
  19. Ripper thanks Jimi. An electrician mate of min is coming over to do all of the other electricals so i thought id add this to the list of things for him to do. It doesnt sound to hard from what youve said above. If it does break or there is a short does it mean the engine wont start or not turn off?
  20. Hi Jewgaffer Im not worried about the battery going flat and im not going out to buy a deep cycle battery mate. I just want to install a switch on my steering console that will turn the engine off when I get to my fishing destination etc. For example when im squidding at night on the drift I push the button on my console to start the engine and then when i get back to the start of my drift I need to walk down the back to the engine to turn it off. I just want to be able to turn it off from the console.
  21. Hello all Now for the 2nd question on my long list. I have a push button on my centre console that starts my engine. When I turn the engine off I need to press a button which is on the engine. I want to install a kill switch on on my centre console so I dont need to keep going to the back of the boat to turn the engine off. Does anyone know how to do this? Is there some sort of assembly or kit that I can buy? The button to turn the engine on is on the right of the unit. Any advice is appreciated.
  22. Okay thanks everyone for your comments and PM's. Ive decided against cutting it out completely and come up with a different alternative. Now for my next question.......................
