  1. awesome he must be stoked about the upgrade. hahaha $200 is close enough i say. i find it funny to watch them kids combos struggle with a good fish though lol (but also nervous). not much better than seeing a smile from ear to ear on the kids faces 😤 sorry for the late reply ive been busy but did you manage to get out for a fish on the weekend ??
  2. 5 bucks each 😲 hell yeah pm me the link if ya could. There is a ramp at yowie bay that i launch from, parking is pretty short tho. i just pm you a screen shot. nah i haven't at sandringham beach for whiting but i have done a bit of flatty/bream fishing there. i would think that the whiting would be holding in there as well tho.
  3. hey anthman i do a bit of surface fishing for bream and whiting. here is a few tips for whiting on surface lures that work for me. best tip is use a fast retrieve and dont pause. i like to fish the shallow on the falling tide (the end of yowie bay is a great place). my fav lure choice ix the bass day suga pen 70mm in colour hf-119 which im pretty sure is the middle lure in your pic. i find the clear patterned lures work better then others. i hope this helps your quest. keep at it mate you'll crack the code 👍 cheers caple
  4. what a little champion..... a 57cm flatty on plastics at 5 years old 👍 my pb for flattys on plastics is only 55cm atm lol aren't all 6 years going on 10 😂 gotta love the aggressive nature of a flathead they will eat just about anything. good luck on your first summer campaign this weekend and i hope your young fella gets to join the 60 club the season or better yet the metre club 👌 the Georges being my local, i will be sure to keep my eye out for you guys. cheers caple
  5. Cheers frank was awesome to have myself, my son and my old man all fishing in my boat. Its been a long time coming. Definitely more reports to come 👍 He was stoked. Flathead is his favorite fish but we hadn't landed a decent one till this one so he was super happy. Also its the first fish he held all by himself. Thats it aye if i can hook him in early ill have a fishing buddy for life 👌 I would normal have a paternoster rig on atleast one rod but it can get a bit hard when you have the younge fella there (tangles and hooks everywhere). Thats why i was just using a running sinker rig. Thanks richard
  6. @masterfisho7 @Scratchie @mrsswordfisherman @big Neil Thanks heaps guys 😁 i appreciate it. This is the first summer i have had my tinny on the water so expect lots more reports 🤙✌
  7. Hey raiders I have been a member on this site for some time now and i am yet to put up a report so i thought it was time. On saturday i took my son who's 5 and my old man out in the tinny on the George's for a fish. Beautiful day for it, left the boat ramp at flower power about 11am, no real target species in mind just wanted to get the young fella on the water and hopefully get some fish. We cruised up river to around picnic point, we stoped for a couple of drifts just using prawn for bait on a running sinker rig with a long leader. First drift and bang my rod goes off. After a few runs i could tell it was a decent flatty so i passed the rod over to my boy to let him reel it in. He was over the moon when a nice fat 51cm flatty came up to the surface which i quickly netted and boated followed by High fives all round ✋👊 few more drifts for a small bream and it was time to move spots. Went up river a little and drifted the edge of a nice little sand bank i thought looked good. My old man pulled up an undersize flathead but that was about it. Wind started to pick up about 2pm so lines up and back to the boat ramp it is. Just as we started to putt back up river water police on jetski pull us over ( great 😣 ). Apparently i was going a touch to quick woops but all was good a little warning to slow down, a safety check and we were on our way. Great day out overall.
  8. some great snaps there fellas well done
  9. hi anthman i love the sugapen70 for whiting but i have gotten a few on the gladiator kozami 50/60mm lure. i haven't used these much but i have a friend who religiously uses these and cleans up. it is a walk the dog style lure without the cuped face. i have my best luck on the clear lures with strips on top (prawn imitation). can pick these up for about $12-$13. hope this helps champ. cheers caple
  10. great report loved all the detail. spewing about big mumma Flathead getting off but what a fight it must have been on light gear. better luck next time. cheers caple

  17. great bit of footage ? love me a squid fishing day
  18. sweet looks like the go for me to as i do a bit of kayak fishing as well ? hmmmm i do most of my fishing solo so this does worry me a bit. the enviro nets seem ok but i cant help feel like it would be like trying to land a fish in a bucket rather than a net dragging it through the water. do you have any issues landing fish with the berkley rubber and what size do you use??
  19. i have seen these nets before and i must say the built in ruler seems handy plus there not that pricey. what size do you use? thinking i mite get the bream basket net as my every day net and maybe something bigger for when im going for kings and stuff cheers frank your a bloody legend mate but i need one for this weekend and im in campbelltown or i would take you up on that offer. thanks champ thanks everyone im gunna go check some out tomorrow but looking like im gunna get the larger enviro net for the bigger stuff and the bassaction for the bread and butter fish thanks again for all the input fellas
  20. Thanks for the replys guys I have had a look at both those nets I like this net but it does look a bit on the shallow side. Do you have fish jump out much? This net is for my tinny. I am leaning towards the enviro net just wondering if the hooks get caught up in the net at all. I fish lures quiet a bit and dont want to spend all my time getting trebled hooks out.
  21. he really wanted to come home with you didn't he lol sounds like a nice a great arvo fishing well done
  22. hello fellow raiders im looking to get a new landing net as mine is on the way out. any ideas on a decent one thats not going to break the bank. not looking for a huge net but its still gotta be a decent size. any help would be appreciated. cheers ✌️✌️
