  1. I just got a butt join rod and pushed it to far and now its stuck. I already tried 2 ice blocks and a bag of peas already tried twisting and pulling with 2 people about to try warm water Any other methods that work?? Its proper stuck and not budging
  2. Looks like a pike eel, the fin ends a bit before the head also it appears to be a bit more of a sand/ brown colour. Also there are heaps of these in hawksberry A hair tail is more silver and the fin stops a bit further close to the head.
  3. Nice catch Index and middle finer together and put into hood. go around a couple of times. Then pull the head down, should come right off with ink sack and everything. Then cut down middle the hood and remove the clear bone. If you want to eat the tentacles, cut on the level of the beak and remove the beak. The rest head isn't good eating, no reason you can't just a bit chewy and sandy. marinate in soy or teriyaki sauce with lime and chilli for an hour or 2 then bbq or crumb with egg and bread crumb and fry. Good luck
  4. This was just to help anyone that found their drag a bit sticky.
  5. Planning on paring it with a spinfisher 950 sss. I'm land based. It should go nicely right? I have plans on getting a slammer or a bg 6500 sometime.
  6. Thyre the $14 ones of ebay right? This was just a fix to get through until they arrive. But the drag is very smooth now.
  7. I can put up photos of where I sprayed if people want.
  8. I got a spinfisher 950 ssm and found the drag was very sticky particularly when turned up. How I fixed it was by taking the spool off and spraying the drag washer both sides with lithium spray. This seems to have fixed it, not sticky anymore. Hope this helps anyone with the same problem.
  9. Thanks everyone for the help. I fixed it by drilling out the bottom half, then putting a nail and bending it into shap.
  10. I have made a 3d CAD design for this and can print it in PLA. would this have any chance of working or should I use ABS or one of the metal filaments I also have another reel where one of the teeth have snapped on the main gear and there aren't any spares available.
  11. Yeah alright, can I counter that by adding heavier sinker/ bait? Im planning to use this for shark, king, jewfish ect. I was watching a video and it seemed to casts stick baits fine.
  12. It wasn't the most expensive but wasn't the cheapest. Its also my first reel and i have had it for years.
  13. Hi, So i have broken the ant reverse switch on my reel. It has snapped apart. Spare parts are also unavailable Im thinking i could either 3d print a new one or try and drill it our and put a piece of wire through it and then fill it with resin. Would any of these work? Is there a better way to fix this?
  14. I have been looking for this rod but I have been told conflicting information. Firstly i emailed dawia and they said the SALTIST BW SJ 82XH SPIN and the Saltist Bw Sj 802 xh AO were the same. But theres a price difference of $25. Also they said the SALTIST BW SJ 82XH SPIN was a mid join instead of a butt join (at the top of the foregrip). This was different to the pictures I was given by someone and Dinga and Motackle when I emailed them about it. I was wondering if anyone could confirm the join is on the top of the foregrip and it has a rubber gimbal. Thankyou for your help in advance
  15. They do it to eat the carp apparently. But yeah its pretty dumb and reckless. They installed an electrocution thing on the main pond
  16. Since when did they care about them lol
  17. I have gone on pretty much every website and this is why i'm so confused lol.
  18. The beaches will be very busy, If you want to try go late afternoon. Also manly dam is worth trying if your interested in freshwater (carp, bass, refin). I would suggest early morning or evening to night if you want to go to the wharfs as they get very busy. Narabeen is awesome for leather jacket, got my first one there, prawns work well as well as pipies.
  19. Hi, I was wondering what kind of rigs people would use for Sydeny harbor kings land based. I have seen some people floating a butterflied yaka or just strips of them or even live. Then I have seen them just being drifted (butterflied, strip bait, live) Also how do you guys like to target mulloway? I have heard live, strip baits and butterflied all work well. Also how do you like to catch squid in Sydeny harbour in the day time? I have seen people using 3 jigs at once and people just using 1 jig and people using a float with a jig.
  20. Yeah, I wasn't talking about the main lake. Theres a smaller one like 5 mins walk away. Thank you very much for the help
