mark...i dont think you should have done epoxy work with all the rain we have had..if you want to take a chance you can leave it for a couple of weeks and i may harden...bob

i use heavy metals (80 to 120 grms) of the stones for toothey critters .. how would single or double hooks work for for me .. i do crush the barb down on my trebbles.. and with fish that jump and throw there head around it sure makes for interesting fishing....bob

snapper hunter...yeah big swells at the moment at swr..but keep ur eye on it..the big rock you saw near the beach is called black rock...if you fish of the beach chase the standard fish ...if you have a boat look for spanish,cobia ,kings..and ALWAYS expect the un expected...any where near the light house rock or beach you will get fish....bob

if you only got one day go to the base of the light house...or any wher along the break wall or the breakwall at arakoon bay near the old jail... i been going there 30 years and they are 3 great spots....bob

he mate forget the guppies you wont breed them quick enough....just buy small goldfish a couple times a week that will do them....bob

anthony... done a few repairs over the years and depending on the size and position of patch sometimes you are better off taking tha patch out and doing it again..thats not to hard with glass....if you want some help let me know i live close to you....bob

hi i always give mine a flush with petrol..and ALWAYS USE FRESH FUEL every time i go out....bob

i keep them alive ...then take there heads right off ... then put in fridge on a tray till next morn.. this makes the flesh firm and makes filleting and skining a lot easier.. and then wash fillets vigeriously in salt water ...but as you see everybody has there own idea.... but the importent thing is to bleed them. COOKING i cut into bite size pieces..smooth beer batter..deep fry on the bbq..drain on paper towl 2 mins..salt and pepper ..a cold stubby.... and a couple good mates........tnx bob

hey livebait ....being an old woronora boy would love to join you one day ....use to catch heaps of blackfish under the old road bridge before they tore it down .... spent many days fishin princess park and the reserve.... drop me a line any time ....bob

mark...as a dedicated rockhopper i dont think its 2 importent as you said you loose a lot i use platipus because i find it dont kink to much ...but maxima is good to.... i think its a personal choice....bob

dave...i think you will find the 10lj a bit heavy...and i like to feel a blank before i buy..i have built a lot of sticks over the years and i am in my 60's and i found the 7144g great you dont need to take 12" of if you dont want to...blanks are hard to get now...try fergo's at taren point...have a feel of the good old 7 wrap i think you will be surprised...depending where you live you are welcome to have a look at the stick i built....bob

i use 7144g minus a 12"inch in butt casts 80 gram out of site ...and no probs liftin ... just back from far north coast biggest tailor this year was 6.3kg no probs to the 7 wrap..at least have a look at this blank ..bob

dave pickers doom or channel sinkers as they are known are still used ... i use them in river fishing and also off the beach ...i run them right down to the hook and then cast.. let them settle and then let the line run through them i find the sand wont fill the hole and stop the line and you have a loose line for the willey old bream....bob

i use pre pack salted pilchards all the time took 6 packets to the north coast..no probs ...no more waiting for them to thaw..ready to go always .....bob

after roberta asked how to sex blackfish... without sendin them to god i tried to find out...after readin every book i own ...no luck...so i contacted DR DAVID MASTERS at DPI FISHERIES RESEARCH and he in formed me there was NO external difference...the only time you will be able to tell is in spawning time ( eggs and roe ) other than that THEY HAVE TO BE DESPATCHED FOR AN INTERNAL EXAM....what a shame....bob

if you are going north you cant beat swr or try hat head especialy if you have young kids hat head is so quiet it ideal for the little ones but still provides one of the best fishin,swimmin, surfin beaches rock fishin galore, the river is tops, and if you want to boat quite a few off shore reefs..a local bowling club thats very friendly...how do i know all this?????? i have only been going there with my family for over 30 years and we still love it....BOB
