well another fisherperson drowned tryin to get a feed of fish of the stones this morn ... when are people going to learn the sea takes no prisioners and is not forgiving ..all to often people die for a feed of fish worth $10 bucks in the shop ... as much as we try to educate people it falls on deaf ears.. to many people die ..for the ones who are left its our duty to educate the young especialy of people who were not born in this beautiful country with its dangeriouse seas....bob

you cant beat top quality but middle range reels have there place especialy if you give them some TLC ie regular grease and cleaning....BOB

like you roberta i use the old milk bottle trick for of the stones if i fish the beach with a very good gutter i put the berly mix frozen wrapped in chicken wire with a rope and stake stuck into the sand and let the surf wash it back and forth ..that works for me...bob

hey stumpy over the years i have found rain dont affect fishin much the fish are already wet..it only makes adifference when you get a lot of rain and it puts to much fresh water in with them...bob

wash and drain well and keep wrapped up in fridge when you take out fishin wash again and back in fridge...but keep in mind.. ONLY TAKE WHAT U NEED...about a good week is all weed will keep for....bob

hey guys comon you can now buy salted pillies from the tackle shop for a kilo is less than 5 bucks i took 6 pkts north this year caught heaps of tailor on gangs (no throwing off ) and big winter bream on them also... my bream rig for pillies is 2 x hooks 1x 2/0 1x no 2 cut pillie in half the sinker goes on first then the number 2 hook running up and down then the 2/0 hook put the 2/0 hook in the at the flesshy end of the pillie and the nunber 2 hook in up near the tail.. a half hitch in the tail and away you go..you will be surprised how many bream you will catch on the little hook.....bob

get the sikaflex marine from bios boating i used it to stick the seats fo the floor ao a fibreglass boat 10 yeaqrs ago and they are still there solid as a rock...bob

stevo just a quick spray of inox no more rusty hooks,split rings ect ect as a rockhopper i dont use s/steel because u loose so much gear s/steel is extra cost....bob

hey jewgaffer..a woman caught a 20kg jew fishin for bream with pippies on the front beach at the hat..son and i saw 2 dudes carryin 3 jew of the rocks biggest estimate to be 15kgs...the wall at swr was fishin heaps of blackfish with a sprinkle of good bream and flathead...the weather was crap for 2 weeks with sw to 25 to 30 knots but that drove every body to the creek at hat to chase blackfish the photo i have listed of the blackie was just a smidgen under the kilo mark and they were common this year..wanna know more just ask...bob

4 weeks holidays at hat head, some of the catch over those weeks, tailor over 2kgs, bream up to 1kg, blackfish up to 1kg, and who said fishin was dull....but you had to chase them...CANT GET MY PHOTO'S UP....bob

hey roberta... this is the method they used in kempsey hospital one year to get a trebble out of my shoulder..put there by a mate chasing tailor of the rocks at hat head..ahhh hat head this year great fishin tailor galore plenty over 2kgs... some 1 kg bream..and a 1 kg blackie caught in the river...and i finally got some weed(not at byron) but from under the bridge at stockton beach my sons mate collected it and the blackfish loved it...cant wait till next years holidays...tnx bob

check the bail arm is tight and running smooth..i had one where the screw came loose and the line was going dowm between the roller and the arm causing it to freigh...bob

nathan... i keep all my gear in a large tackle box..when i go out on the stones i take what i need in a small tackle box .in my back pack..it all depends on where you are going fishing eg boat,rock,beach ,ect...bob
