  1. Hey All, I know this request might be a long stretch but my buddy Eesh who's come all the way from Canada to pursue his uni degree is going back to Canada in August and while he was here , he got addicted to fishing here as well (he fishes freshwater a lot in Canada) he especially likes shorejigging for kings and jews and that's about all he does. So I've come here to the fishraider community and we are both hoping that someone would be willing to take us out for a jewie or kingy sesh. We're both located in Sydney and are happy to cover fuel and any other costs. Cheers, Albert
  2. hey mate, don't know any spots but if you haven't check out some of chris bamman's videos, he's even recently made a video camping in a tinnie in the middle of sydney harbour.
  3. Yeah i had two rids with me but I wanted to chase bream with lures even though it's so easy to get them on bait

  8. I'll probably sign up for yakhunters then, I've got more expertise in flatties anyway 😅
  9. that's going to have to be next year haha, how was woywoy? I know I caught my pb 43cm bream on servo prawns there.
  10. also benny, where do you find your comps? I've been researching and only come up with some gamefishing ones and the hobie ones that I'm too young to go
  11. Ages since I've seen you benny, did you compete in the Hobie series 14 on Saturday and Sunday? One of my mates Dylan came first in the first-timer division
  12. yeah i was chatting up with a waiter who works at a nearby restaurant and he's caught some bream on the daiwa grubs but at night, I think the bream get bit more extroverted at night as they were even coming up and exploding on my sugarpen

  17. Hey Raiders, I spent the entire day today chasing bream on plastics at the same spot I caught my jewie in the harbor, it obviously ended in a donut cause otherwise I'd be typing this up under fishing reports . The place I was fishing had a small (2.5m x 1.5m ~) rectangular space in the floor that opened up and had railings around it, I tried everything. Topwater sugar pen, gulp crabby, grubs, a 14g vibe that was too heavy, basically the stuff you'd expect to get the bream on (except the vibe). I even changed from my usual 10lb fluro to 5lb and fished 1/12 jigheads at the start and them moved onto 1/8 because the water was too deep. I reckon I was doing something right as I got a couple of bites and even hooked up once (of course it spat the hook). So I've come to good ol fishraider to ask for some help fishing heavy structure bream (there were also some EPs). Because of how small the space is, I'm looking into getting a shimma shrimp or a light ecogear or muss vibe so I can work it properly, as the plastics couldn't sink to the bottom after just one hop and retrieve. The place has some donkey bream (sydney harbour bream are so hard to entice, they'll get spooked at anything) so I'll be looking forward to hopefully hooking up one day or even get my first EP. Since getting into the world of soft plastics I haven't really caught any bream (only 2 tiny ones on grubs) so my confidence in my technique isn't that good. Any info is greatly appreciated Cheers, Albert
  18. Exactly why I booked that restaurant
  19. Birthday pressie is actually some money to spend on a fly rod, looking forward to paying the fishing station a trip with @DerekD sometime in the holidays. @Little_Flatty you have no idea how expensive textbooks are nowadays 🤣
  20. No luck at the end as I reckon the schoolies moved off when I came back at high tide. However there was some bream action on topwater, but no hookups
  21. Hey Raiders, Just typing this up at a fancy restaurant by the water, waiting to go back for jewies after dinner so I figured I’d do a live report while waiting. I arrived at my secret spot ready for jewfish the entire week, armed with my light snapper setup, a couple vibes and a dream. I started off at 6pm fishing Samaki vibelicous in 14g but had no luck, only a few small hook ups and bites from what I presume to be either small flathead or tiny soapies. Now getting ready to enter the restaurant nearby, I tied on the Alibaba ecogear rip-off I’ve been raving about waited. On the second cast I casted into the inlet of the place I was fishing. A couple lifts later… I’m so stoked to have caught a jewie on the first time I tried for them and on my birthday as well! I’m gonna go back to my dinner now and hopefully will report more in the next couple of hours. Cheers, Albert
