  3. What can i say Leo, all true, and then some. I have heard of one case where they even tried block the channel with a ute so they could claim The Entrance as their own. Cheers, Bruce
  4. Sorry if my opinion of Bonito as a food source differs from others, but in my book Bonito = Poo. There are so many tastier fish to be had,and Bonito makes a pretty good bait for a good deal of them. Cheers, Bruce
  5. I'm glad that i don't have to put up with that sort of behaviour at my local ramps. Our facilities might be so so,but 99% of boaties (except maybe at holiday times) are still able to solve most problems with a bit of,dare i say it, common sense!. Cheers, Bruce .
  6. Duck Creek was my old mans swimming hole when he was a kid! Cheers, Bruce
  7. Sikkaflex is the go for that application. Cheers, Bruce
  8. Yep, That's a Hervey Bay flathead for sure. Cheer's, Bruce
  9. While your at it ,punt the plastic ring seal and replace it with a rubber o ring seal, for a completely waterproof bung. Cheers, Bruce
  10. Looks to me like that skipper knows his shyte. He probably won't try it again too soon, but obviously has the skills to keep his boat pointed in the right direction. But like Greg said, this guy has got big nads!!. Cheers, Bruce
  11. Thats no Nipper. It looks a bit like some form of Haines knock off.Looks ok and should go alright as well. Cheers, Bruce
  12. I agree mate, just wish that the water would run a bit longer before they cut off. Cheers, Bruce
  13. Looks like you fellas had a great day. Can't go past a bit of fun in the sun,can you. Cheers, Bruce P.s. What do you reckon about those new cleaning tables that have popped up around the coast. or
  14. Brilliant Pete!, I just knew that it would come in handy. You truly are an ideas man mate. cheers, Bruce
  15. G,day All, I am very happy to report that for my birthday the family has bestowed upon me,one of those new fangled i pads. Now for the big question, what do i do with it?,once i have nutted it out is there any uses for it in the fishing/boating areas. Help!. Cheers, Bruce
  16. Instead of using regular breadcrumbs, next time try using stuffing mix.Not just for Blackfish either. It gets the nod from the family and hanger onners round these parts. Cheers, Bruce
  17. G'day Royts, If you don't want to get too fancy,i have found the readily available and cheap Sure catch reel oil is not too bad at all.It tends to be a bit thicker than the upper level oils, but it's slippery enough for me and it's extra weight should help it stick to bearings and the like for a little bit longer than the thinner oils. Well thats my two bobs worth. Cheers, Bruce
  18. G'day Slinky, I was hoping for your input and better late than never ,as my old mum says. Yeah,i finaly got it sorted, but this bearing would have laughed at those tools of yours Slinky. The puller i had to resort to was a motorcycle wheel bearing puller, and even then i had to introduce a modicum of heat to the equation, this bearing was STUCK!.The funny thing was that when the bearing was removed the seat was as clean as a whistle.Go figure. Cheers, Bruce
  19. Bearing now unstuck .Borrowed a small bearing puller, but even then it still needed a little bit of heat. Cheers, Bruce
  20. T'was I,that stuck up the post about Regupol,i have had it for a while now and as far as i'm concerned it,s a winner. Go for it Coasty. Cheers, Bruce
  21. G'day All, I am currently servicing a Penn 8500ss for a mate of mine, and shyte, does it need it.Anyway after much stuffing around ,i have managed to get it all apart and to my surprise, apart from rooted bearings everything else is as good as new. Now my problem lies with the pinion bearing,it's stuck like a bastard, and even though i have destroyed the bearing, the outer race is still stuck .I have tried various penetrating oils etc, gentle pursuasion but alas it is still stuck. So i am desperate, and i'm relying on the collective Raiders brains trust to help me solve this problem. Cheers, Bruce
  22. G'day Jeff, Sorry about the piss poor pics, but one of the kids had buggered around with my camera settings and i didn't notice until it was to late. But heres a couple that you can make out the subject matter in. Cheers, Bruce
  23. No worries, each to their own. As a matter of fact,we had a bit of a play with one today, took a mate out and i tied a couple of last weeks Mac tuna frames to a short rope out the back.Sure enough a small Mako comes in for a bit of a look and begins to have a nibble on the frames, the sea anchors, the prop, the rope and anything else it could get it's crockery around. But the fun part was when he got serious about the tuna frames and my mate was pulling the rope around with that little Mako going big monkey poo on the end of it.It looked to me like they were both having a ball. Grabbed a couple of pics, but im not sure how they look yet,but if they are any good i'll bung 'em up. Cheers, Bruce
  24. Nah,different beasties mate, Hooking a Blue shark is like hooking an underwater log,and hooking a Mako is like being attatched to a pshyco icbm. Not trying to be a smartarse Jeff, just letting you know that they arn't the same, catching a Mako is a far more challenging experience.Good onya Jeff, hope you enjoy the feed!. Cheers, Bruce
