  1. drink 6 beers, then sleep.. as much as possible... works for me.. The alcohol, helps the body by killing some cells, the sleep helps to recover new cells that were infected.
  2. not really any beach, but plenty of boat ramps at davo... and some swings for kids if we have it at the old restaurant ramp tyrone. Anyway will let you guys decide the spot, and I will be there with bells on... 1st may is good for me too. And unless your driving a naval ship into the brissy waters, there is no problem channels are deep enough.
  3. Central Coast... Gosford, Ettalong, Woy Woy, Booker Bay, Hardies Bay, Kincumber, Davistown, Saratoga... its a pretty big area. You can come in from Pittwater, just head straight past the front of lion island.
  4. Too add to Tyrones post, yeh brissy water today was a mad bream day... I jetty fished today from 5:30am - 10am (South Kincumber), and picked up about 6 legal, and a heap of just smaller ones.. only kept my biggest one of 27cm pic below.. Also had a heap of BIG hits that got off, one took about 70 metres of my fireline, this was at about 5:45am so may have been a jewy. Scared the crap out of me wasn't expecting a big fish to unravel me, but unfortunatley when i finely ajusted my drag and turned him, he broke off... oh well next time . So I am hopeing the brissy water is starting to get some growth happening, its been awhile.
  5. yeh my son (5) got his first fish the other day... was a good moment.. congrats to your daughter... gotta say its embarrasing when your 5 year old pulls in a 25cm trevally and i get a 15cm bream
  6. Cheers Tyrone, Will hook up soon for some lessons Rob, if you wanna good program to resize images etc, try Irfanview... best free program available... and supports everything you can throw at it... video, images anything. http://www.irfanview.com/ If ya need help with how to resize and resample (change file size) PM me for a quick tutorial.
  7. Yeh I would say Forster or the seals rocks area is very good. If you want to rock beach fish Treachery is a good beach, small hike to it, but a good point etc. Harrington is a pleasant little town further north, with good fishing and easy outside access too. Its also got a massive breakwall that I hear is a decent spot to flick.
  8. Thanks Dave, Yeh might hook up with tyronne soon, he seems to be into the lure side of it all. I guess its all going to come from experience, and time on the water... Just need my boat so I can actually get out there among some better spots.
  9. Got the bug yesterday arvo and went and bought some SP gear. Following Ken's articles I thought I'd give it a try. I bought some Gamakatsu "Round 26 - Standard wire hook size 1/0, 1/4oz and Round 25 - 2x fine wire hook, size 1, 1/16oz" jigs and some "Squidgy Fish 60mm Neons", "Squidgy Wriggler 80mm Silver", " Atomic 2-1/2" Paddle tail Brown Crawdad" and some "Softies (maple - so freddies brand) 75mm Shad Mandarin Gold" Also grabbed some Spike-It, but they only had Garlic scent in stock. Along with some other gear I needed, 6lb fireline etc, I rigged up and set off down to Davistown to see if I could work this SP fishing out. Well I gotta say, the weather was crap which didn't help and the wind was blowing pretty hard, but I had a go and quite enjoyed not needing all my tackle and gear, just my fishing belt bum bag thing and my rod ( and a few cold beers ), but I didn't even get a sniff on the plastics, I was trying for Bream or Flatties. I may be doing it all wrong and trying in the wrong areas, but I will persist as it was pleasant to come home with no stinky fingers Will have another go this arvo, rain hail or shine. I need to get my boat soon I think, I assume this would be a big advantage. So if anyone has any extra tips, comments on the gear I purchased etc, please post it up, as I want to get into this new area of fishing for me, and any advice will be helpful. Cheers...
  10. There is a DVD out at the moment called "Spinning Around - Phuket Thailand" might be helpful. Popular fisho's such as Glen Beers, John Newbery and Jim Harnwell made it. Its $19.95 and you can get a copy by ringing (02) 97932999. Or check the local tackle shops.
  11. Mate... My best thing... My wife is prego with our 3rd kid its all up and down... but she dont winge to much about me getting up at 4am to go flick a line, as long I am back at 8:30am to go to work. But my missus dont fish, so I dont have your drama...
  12. well I steak em.. just cut em into steaks, wrap each one in foil with a peice of lemon and some slat and pepper.. ( I use my home grown chillies in there too ) grill on bbq.. they are grouse but each to there own... my missus dont like as much as I do,,,
  13. If you want info on these areas... AVOID them... Great fishing, if you like being sandwiched between 10,000 other blokes... (winny bay stil ok so far) Seriously I am the same as tyrone, only fished local rocks (central coast), port stephens, QLD areas and seals rocks areas. Off rocks. Tight lines m8, hope you find a winner spot, and if ya do tell us about it, and next time I'm in the syd area will flick one.
  14. could be better nuh this place rocks... best find for fisho info and good blokes I found yet
  15. Cheers m8... yeh had a few sessions on the navi now, and it feels great... now to land something decent in the brisbane water and will never buy Maple again... they offered me a free TLD25 if i bought a $380 maple boat rod... the rod was crap... so not worth it.
  16. Soccer for kids sat morning, then maybe an arvo flick down at davo... if this rain stays away. Hopefully Sunday see's my brother keen for some outside action, again dependant on weather.
  17. Great fish... very nice Snapper there mate.
  18. Correct... First shot is Avoca Point looking at mugs. Second is looking back at the beach, along the rock pool.
  19. nope.. ok the gimme shot, should be able to work out where from this.
  20. excellent... cheers mate should be set now.. get me 30lb line tomorrow.. tie some knots... catch big fish.. its gotta be that easy
  21. from my experience.. (not my line or rod) I have always seen others use a leader off the braided... but I too would like to know what knot for tying the braided to a swivel etc....
