  7. Actually saw him on Andrew Denton, one of the most amazing interviews ive seen. In it, the subject of the song " Two Little boys " came up and it was NOT written by Rolph Harris. Rolph was out in the bush with another famous aussie bushman (and i cant think of his bloody name) as they sat back, this fella says "ive got a great song for you that you might be able to use" and begins tapping the tune on a rock. Rolph cannot stand it and patiently waits for the end, after a while they chat and he comes up with some new words, made him cry as he sung it, and im pretty sure that the song was passed on to the first, still cant think of his name. Another thing, "Jake the Peg" was also not written by rolph harris, it is an old sea song that he saw performed overseas, he asked the elderly gentleman if he could teach him the song, and eventually asked his permission to use it although it wasnt his in the first place, its heritage lays in Holland.

  11. Just saw on nine news that a great white has been seen in one of the lakes. Ill have to read the story... Apparently the commercial fisho pulled it up in his nets whilst of Canton Beach Tuggerah Lakes on wednesday, he estimated it at 7meters! Was released without harm. Emergency services are monitoring the situation
  12. Gday slinky, firstly did they have a yellow stripe down their nose? they are yellow nosed albatross and pester fishing vessels to the point of no return, they are usually shot by longliners, we got hassled last week, quite funny actually. Started to feed one and his m8 turned up next thing they are squawking over food, no sooner did they open their mouths ( sound travels well across water ) they came from every direction actually had three types of albatross around boat. Fed them for a while then stopped. one left and the rest followed soon after. Dont know what you can do. DONT SHOOT THEM EITHER OR HARM THEM ITS BAD KARMA!

The engine bay is to be mirrorchromed. M8 have a look at the paints from alsacorp.com they will blow your mind, the paint is now available in OZ mine being the first done i think? People are going to love the colour or hate it!
  17. Gday all, Hit the water about 1100am and headed towards the horizon. Conditions where actually quite nice, got about 4nm out from Browns and the shotgun goes off. Whatever it was it took about 50m of line off then stupid here doesnt strike properly and loses the fish. Anyway turned around and retraced our steps and off she goes again. Coupla minutes later a 3kg stripey hits the deck, now new for sure the last fish wasnt a stripey. Continued out and started cubing. Packed up about 430pm with 0s. Only one other boat out plus a pro. Water around 19deg.
  18. Ok just got great news back, get some colour on the car this weekend, so will have the body back in a couple of weeks. The engine has been bored to 60000, has a stage 2 crane cam in, here the heads are on new valves etc just about to adjust everything. Cant wait to hear her grunt again lol, idle rev at 1000 RPM.
  19. Andy Loops you will have to do a newspaper search, as the photo was on the front page of either what used to be the "Sun" or "The Daily Mirror". The 83 storm was big allright we were competing in the state titles in Wamberal in rescue boats with 25s on the back lol, but still it dont compare to the 74 storm.
  20. The 74 storm was also the last time that Sydney Opera House was surfed, theres actually a mean right hander at Bennelong point, and yes there are photos!
  21. Grew up in Bondi and remember the 1974 storm, and havnt seen swell that big since and believe we are well overdue for a huge swell, when we were kids hanging around the beach winter time was always time for big storms and big swells, that trend disappeared years ago but i reckon its slowly coming back to life. If you go back further and look at these storms they actually occured about every 10yrs, but these are gigantic east coast lows that have to form up on the western side of Noumea then move towards us, luckily the so called big swells we get now i think dont compare to what wwe had 30yrs ago Sammy these to me are normal patterns that we havnt experienced for years. The week would be awesome, sat arvo the nor easter always hit, and the southerly was spot on Sunday arvo, i may be wrong? Winter always seemed westerley and the swell was big and the water cold!
  22. It seems we are gaining some new members, especially from another site, like me im originally from there. This site is mainly NSW not schhhhnappperr, gummy or other inbred fish lol, Thank god! Hopefully well gain more experience from these guys as there are some great brains joining up, so bring them in, BUT PLEASE READ THE POSTING RULES. As i have fallen foul once or twice. This is a great site and can only be bettered by stealing all NSW members from............... lol.
  23. I personally think there is more out there, you have to experience it to believe it, got heaps to tell maybe over a turkey one day.
  24. Count me in! If anyone else out this way wants to do the course and doesnt have transport PM me can fit three more in the landy, or 4 with a squeeze lol
