  1. Bannana Me thinks Ray is right. The nasties will obviously be more than taken care of, that can always be identified and managed, but in such shallow water, the affects on sand movements up and down the beaches can never be really known, irrelevant of any so called models. Reckon this baby is now one "Dead Dog". Happy Days for the Central Coast. Cheers Trapper Tom.
  2. G'day Greg L Photo was for. "I need a petrol sponsor" promo. Cheers Trapper Tom.
  3. Hey Crunch A Fishraider first here. The first time Iv'e heard of a scuttling being scuttled. Note if the case fails it will mean that the scuttling that was scuttled, will be scuttled itself. If there's a succesful appeal then it will be the scuttling that was scuttled, which itself was scuttled was scuttled. If there is an appeal to the High Court then it will be I think I better get a life somehow. Still reackon the best solution is the tactical nuke (No ones bitten on that line yet, see previous post). Cheers Trapper Tom
  4. G'day Donna. Great to see you back on line. I was going to say God bless etc but I think I can now say the following. "May Rod be with you". Cheers Trapper Tom
  5. G'day Bubba My mate went down last weekend for a squid and kingy sess. Kings sparse but there. Squid over the weed beds, sorry he only got one. Does not mean that that won't change though. Good time of the year for them. Pm for weed bed spot if your not farmiler, however I think you would know where there are. Cheers Trapper Tom.
  6. Hey Siverbike. Great news for the 2 apps hey. Good luck. Please post what field/profession you are in, with 10,000 people here, never know who might need you. As for the beer, no offence intended mate, was sort of a general coment for all only, I just know I had a few too many schoonerburgers at a point when maybe I should not have. Mrs Psyhco helper for me went OOOPs Trapper, suggest you go back to what you usally have ie 2-3 a night after work. I went OOOPs did not even realise I was doing it, sorry thats a mistake, I think I just didn't care and didn,t give a shit for 6 months. All good there now, and I still do my Home Brewing. Damn good stuff. Will post elkhorn photo for you. And some other stuff. Also Ray R has posted a few photo's of his plants as well as other stuff. Check it out. Also Peter S does some great candid shots, check those out. Cheers Trapper Tom
  7. Hey Roosterman Now eating s*** nah, family site, so its a "bucket of prawns in the sun". Bugger, but how good was Pearce and you guys did really good. Still reakon the Tigs will do good this year as will the choocks Cheers Trapper Tom
  8. G'day Geoff Confirm that AS 1851 is the operative maintanance schedule for any fire extinguishers. Can be in a a boat, building, truck or any other element requiring protection. Yes they are required to be checked every 6 months. They are also required to have a metal date tag from the maintanance company attached which they clip after each maintanance so that it can be identified as being maintained. The maintanance company is also required to provide a certification of maintanance to the owner once they have done so. No metal tag or no clip on the due date and yes you are busted by fisheries. Cheers Trapper Tom
  9. Hey Roosterman Ya forgot Loti T, first touch of the ball in first game back TRY TRY TRY I also note your up against the Tigs this weekend. I reckon we'll get up buddy and yes I have been a Wests man all my life Go the Tigs Trapper Tom

Always good to have a yak when your down. And hey don't worry about your posting, just get into it, there are heaps of things on this site you can comment on or pass opinion on and I think you can see from this sites responses that people will care about your opinion or views. Its a value that the site admin and Mods foster very vigilantly. Thats why its got over 10,000 members who constantly yak on line. PS believe it or not besides being a bit of a past sportman I absolutely love my gardening. I reckon I have even got the largest elkhorn plant EVER in australia. Will get a photo out and post in photo sect for you in the next day or so. Have all sorts of things but the one thing I have never been able to grow successfully is Orchids. Damn hard buggers arn't they. So therefore your advice and help there would be greatly appreciated. I will post my requests for info on orchids in the bar section please keep your eye out. Chin up and do things that make you feel good. PS. excess may not be the best thing. Mind you last weekend at Swansea I was a bit wobbily to say the least. Cheers Man Trapper Tom
  13. G'day Bubba Was up at Swansea last weekend to and can attest how bad the conditions were. Top result for some very trying conditions. Cheers Trapper Tom
  14. G'day fishraiders Bit of a late report. Did the Swansea channel/Lake Maq thing last weekend starting Mid Fri with really high hopes. 4 guys, 3 on the boat and one rotating off each session. Planned for Morn sess, break, arvo sess, break, and night time sessions. Ominuss begininings First glitch the "Senior Sargent" reported in at 9.30 Fri and said Wifey sick must take care of kids. Oh well no probs there suck eggs SS. Headed up to Lake Maq Fri lunch with a southerly blowing and worried looks on our faces. But hey we can cope with this we know the Lake. A few spots of rain. UUUmmmm. Bit more woriied. Booked into cabin launched boat and headed out. HOLEY HELL Absolutely blowing a gale, and the wind against the tide to boot, boat all over the shop. First Session absolute Nudda. Really difficult conditions. Then realised all I had spooled was braid and it was just out of control in the wind everywhere. Back to camp dubbed, Spot xxxx, for obvious reasons. Cooked dinner ready to go out for the prized night session and yes it poured. Now I am not a wimp but a howling southerly with rain meant spot xxxx was the go for the night. Bugger. Saturdays plan was Flatty session first 2 hours of the run in then chase kingies till lunch. Wind and the tide again meant the boat was all over the shop and we could not hold position at the drop off. Worked really hard to maintain position however a 1/4 cab with canopy and rocket launcher had us sailing past everything at Autralia 2 speed. What was really good was a BBB boat came up to our exact spot, put the electric down maintained exact position perfectly on the drop off and proceeded to catch 8 flatties in about 30mins on SP's, obviously really good fisho's who new exactly what they were doing. We were very envious but a spcialist fishing platform like that does not come cheap. WE got 2 flatties 6 brimbos 3 reddies nothing big just keepers. Chased kingies then and not even a sniff. Lunch. Then Specified plan Pulbah mussel beds and crab traps. Again the winds and tide fought against us, couple of breambo,s only justa's, and all returned. One crab definately not returned. Returned to the drop off and channel again, started pouring big time still blowing a gale. Dropped Pots at different spot and hunkered down to weather it out. 5.00pm came and back to spot xxxx. Mind you the bonus was 6 crabs and 2 fantails in the pots Woo Hoo Waited had dinner and then really really began to pour, like all night. Exit 2nd night fish. See Dan BUBBA Frost report in lure section, it was really bad. Sunday. Woke to rain and only slight wind, ummmm well we were here so give it a go till lunchtime. Boat was left on shore and thank god for the bilge pump. Boat Was absolutely full took 10 full minutes to empty. Back to the Channel and drop off. Wind died sun came out and was absolutely beatiful. Then managed a really good session for 2 hours 6 breambo's 4 reddies 2 flounder and 4 flatties and another 4 crabs. Lunchtime we were all stuffed, time to head back. All in all one of the hardest weekends fishing we have had for a long time. Add up 3 guys for 2 full days fishing and really wasn't much return. Strange thing was about a 1/4 of the brimbo's all had doctors attached to the tail area. Has any other Lake Mac guys noticed the same. No photo's as all fish were not remarkable. Did get a good shot of a Pelican doing a really strange thing and will post that in the photo,s section later. Great to finally get to post again. Cheers Trapper Tom.
  15. Hey Dangles. Ya mates got a awesome job, did he have to pay them!! Also I got a mate with a old (make withheld) fighter. He's was thinking about a mock attack run over the same for a photo shoot. He's wimped out in case theres the F16's around and they ask questions later. He figured it would be too much pain for the benifit gained. Would have been great to see though. Trapper Tom
  16. Hey Dangles Well said Mind you really didn't need saying. Shame they aren't going to torpedo it like the one in West Aust a while back. It would give Ray R one "blast" of a day. He wouldn't need to fish that day just stand on his spot put his arms out and catch the fish as they rained down. His famed photo's could have been called "Raining fish" Part 2. I'd love to go into the benifits of doing it with a tactical nuke but I will refrain at present. Cheers Guys Trapper Tom
  17. G'day Guys Thanks for your kind words. More importantly, Hey "Cut Loose". Make sure you look after yourself buddy. Most of the recovery is in actually knowing that you have it. At least you then know whats going on and are aware of it and can then try to move forward. Hang in there and if you need a ear PM me anytime! Also one of the secrets for me was getting back to sports. Did all sorts of sports from 5 years old to 45. Had a big injury at 45 that affected the buisness so gave sports the flick. Now back to sports. Very important even for a young guy because it gives you achievement, sense of purpose etc etc. Also gets the blood pumping and all the good hormones running around your body. If you need advice on sports that might help you, again please feel free to PM. (Hey Fencing is absolutely brilliant). I Have 3 days booked with mates for Swansea Lake Mac in mid march. Objective 1:- the elusive 1m Flatty!!!!!!!!! Objective 2 catch as many damn fish (crabs prawns)as we can. He He. Gunna be good. Will post report in 2 weeks. Cheers Trapper Tom.
  18. G'Day all fishraiders Just a short note. Been missing in action from the fishraider site for some time now. Unfortunately I have been really crook. And yes it was the dreaded "Black Dog". Being a really outgoing person I did not know what the hell was going on at first. Then, after turning into a blithering mess on the lounge room floor one night, I sort help. Thank God I did. If my son did not make a guest appearance at precisely that moment on that night I doubt very much I would be here know. Then came the shame trip until I was informed 1 in 4 peaple suffer from it. Wow, wipe of the brows there, back into the "normal people" ball park. The only purpose of this post is to raise the issue within the site and awareness of it so that others might benifit. I have never noticed this issue raised in any past reports etc etc. Probably because of the suffers percieved stigma attached to it, Boy aint I over that. FR With now 10,000 members (congrats Stewy and Donna )will naturally have its share of suffers. Be aware and do not treat this sucker lightly, seek help earlier rather than later. To Tan What can I say. Thank you very much for your post in this section a while ago enquiring about me and actually even leaving your personal ph number to contact you.. Was one important turning point for me and thank you very much for our phone conversation. As for our "Doggie Puns" that will now take on a new meaning eh eh, but it will still be "Great Mate Woof" Stewy Plase elevate Tan to the "Big Kahuna" god status Member, he has served your site well. Diver 1 info on Lake Mac to follow. Will be doing a flathead weekend in mid march at Swansea and the drop over. The worst of all this was that I had a call from Wiepia a while back, they had a cancellation and I just could not do. Bloody hells bells been waiting for that one for a while. Had to take the Red ones after that! Cheers guys and beware, He's Back!!!! Trapper Tom.
  19. Maybe sealice? Not sure, any other opinions Trapper Tom
  20. Hey Luke Did you shake him to make him "Trumpet"!! True storey and I guess thats how they got named! One must always appease the fishing "Gods". We have various rituals we do for various fish to ensure good luck. For this fellow when caught, shake, hold to ear, listen to trumpet and return to D Jones. He has a locker down there, so that he won't come back to pinch ya bait. Cheers Trapper Tom
  21. Hey Koalaboi Ouch ! not a good diagnosis. Good luck with it. Tell you what, when your healed a few photos of the scar in the bar section to just to show off wouldn't be bad! I've got a ripper over my right eye, bragging rights = 25 stitches. Cheers and good luck again Trapper Tom
  22. Hi koalaboi Same prob for me for the last 2mth. Couldn't put my arm into my shirt or even lift a cup of tea let alone caste with it. Very painful and annoying. Luckily was just treatable without the knife. Taken a while though and nearly better now. Definately not a repetative stain injury and is a trauma injury. Good luck with it. Cheers Trapper T
  23. Hey Peter Another to add to your collection. A big Barra mouth! Not not much in the way of teeth. But man, what a mouth, reckon she beats aerosmiths front man hands down. Cheers Trapper T
  24. Hey Roberta I agree somethings happened to the vegatation! Main difference I see is about $150 mill worth of real estate. Turning green here! In those days it was probalby 50 quids worth. Cheers Trapper T
  25. G'Day Hobbit. Bloody good spot too if your planning a trip. Suggest summer is the prime time once the warm currents push down from up north. Have fished the area for 30 years with some quite good results. Pm me if you need a couple of inside tips and tricks for the area. Sorry to all FR's can't let the "cat out of the bag" on the tricks with a public post. But will see wehther I can assist persons with personal info if requested. Hey Tan! As promised, no more doggie puns as I got sick of having to walk to the pound after each one! I only wear hush puppies and they all got worn out doing so. (Bugger thought I was cured). However the "cat out of the bag" statement???? Well that may now have created another problem for me, I will try to resist but no garrentee's Cheers Trapper Tom
