  13. we have caught silver perch ,golden perch and cat fish but not for a long time now, the carp have taken over. it was also a good trout fishery years ago i dont even know of any one that has caught trout or natives in that area of the river for years.
  14. Hi high_speed_metal Abercrombie caves is on Grove creek and there is not much water in it if any. if you want to go yaking you are better off going down to the Abercrombie river about 10 km away there should be plenty of water down there for your yak. Fish wise you should catch plenty of carp in the river if you are realy lucky you might catch a native fish. personaly i would camp down at the river and go up to the caves for a day trip, the caves and river are not that far apart so you can drive to both and pick the best place to camp. Jim
  15. come on fishos there has got to be someone that wants to catch big fish. big dogtooth tuna, yellow fin tuna, spanish mackeral, wahoo, coral trout, red emperor, sweet lip, spangled emperor, job fish, marlin, sail fish, giant trevally, and there is a lot more species to catch as well. this is a trip of a lifetime. your arms will be well and truly stretched to the limit. you are well looked after so all you have to do for 10 days is catch fish. i need 2 more fishos we could even take 3 if there is a groop of mates keen to go. if your keen or want some more information pm me and find out about the trip. cheers Jim

Jim

  18. Its good to see the Al McGlashan let the shark go, catch and release is definatley the go. N.S.W should bring in the rules that QLD is on shark fishing you can only keep one shark and it has to be under 1.5 meters, a shark any bigger is no good to eat any way because of the build up of heavy metals in its system. I cant see the point of killing something if it gets wasted.
  19. honeymoon fin thats the go, well done mate .bet it beats catching red fin and carp and congrats on getting married

  21. hi chopper75 i own a bermuda 450 island coral i put it on a RTA weigh bridge un hooked from the ute wanted to now if the boat was too heavy for the trailer. boat, motor, trailer, full tank of fuel and 50L water weighed in at 740 kg . rims and tyres were rated to 750kg each but the springs wer not strong enough snaped one in half and the trailer builders dident put washers on the bolts that hold the coupling to the trailer so i pulled the bolts through the tubing . made my heart race driving along and haveing brand new boat brake of the coupling. thank god for the safty chain . i have now done some modifications to the trailer stronger axle same rims as the 4wd and better guards , led lights an extendable drawbar and an all terain coupling now its all heavy duty and i done it my self so i now its done properly.
  22. Hi Matt I fish Ben Chiefly dam on a regular basis & the last trout I caught there was 4 years ago, I haven't heard of anyone who has caught a trout, even in the last 12 mnths. You would have more luck catching a cod or yellowbelly but even they are pretty rare. Roads to the dam are now tar. It's a good dam if you want to catch a heap of redfin.
