  6. Hi Tony seems to me all the fish were at lower part of the bay that day and i think a very small tide with no movement caused this i spoke to some people and they had no luck at the top of the bay nothing at all and same today getting two calls were are the fish they were asking .I think every day is different you have to read into the tides and conditions and go from there you try you're usual spots of course if they don't fire you go else were the problem for me i wasted time on the usual spots and time crucial especially in the morning i new the morning was not going to that hot but the evening had a stronger tide interesting it would of being to no the difference that's my thoughts basically Ive experienced this a few times i don't think its fish migration patterns just tide. cheers Jim bream
  7. Hi raiders Second week in a row, Fishing was tough going. Landed at towra at 6.00am, with 10 fish in half a hour at that stage i thought "nah could it be?" But what had me worried was a very small tide and the water temperature started to decline from last week. After towra we moved to the patches, to the sticks and then kurnell, and it seemed there were no fish at the top of the bay whatsoever. Each of those hot spots produce zero fish. So i decided to head back to the novatel with no surprise there was about 8 boats there which produced 10 good fish. At this stage i had 20, i said one more stop at towra on the way home which produced 2 fish. And a 1m shovel nose shark that i let go. 22 fish all up, highlight of the day was a 42 cm bream. Cheers Jimbream.
  8. Hi tony just added a picture for every one a every close mate caught these fish in the same spot you were fishing.
  9. Congratulation steve top catch there big flaty as well don't no how long the good fishing will last Ive being trying for a month to get out there didn't no what to expect jan 4 was the last time i went out lets hope it lasts another month .
  10. i fished towra kurnell and novatel small snapper i didn't encounter many at all but i usually move when theirs alot of them to more shallow water usually works well because they like the deeper water you may try longer trace and see if works i stick to the 50cm trace with some rods having a variation i do this on purpose to mix thing up a bit keep trying you'll get there.
  11. great catch there funnierthanu when did the bite get going for you at what time
  12. We ran out of bait at kurnell no i didn't pay any attention to the boats
  13. Hi Tony i did see you there in the bay on my way out at your usual spot i left at 8.00 because i ran out of nippers how do i no your boat well i wont say but i will say i told the groper you were out that morning any way i ran out of nippers long story to that pretty annoyed about it because my koubaro trying to tell i had enough nipper when i didn't he broke my balls all morning. we had 3 bags of worms and the nippers i fished 4m of water and under every were i went if i stayed to 11 o'clock the numbers would have being much larger the spot where you were fishing my mate got 49 fish from 6.00 to 12.00 21 whiting 24 bream and 4 trevelly. A lot of whiting in the bay at the moment i fished in front of the novatel for a change and it was very productive not to a real surprise not to mention my koubaro tied the hook wrong not once but 3 times and lost 3 large bream at the boat what a wombat he is . The tarwine are all ways found every time i go to kurnell but i don't keep them or the bream that land on 25 cm i don't see the point they seem to small . Were you were fishing haven't fished for a while but think you should move up little more easterly and you will do much better no crabs but were having a go at our lines the worms did the damage on the whiting cheers Jim bream.
  14. Hi Raiders Not much fishing of late, but a close friend from Melbourne wanted me to take him out. Originally a Sydney boy, but never really liked fishing in botany bay and i told him botany bay is the place for bream. After reading a few posts with some fish still out there I said to him we will go early Saturday morning because i had other commitments during the day. We started the usual spots, the water was a lot warmer at the bottom of the bay, but it wasn't a big difference 1-1.5 degrees difference in water temperature. We worked hard to get 30 keepers which was 17 bream 13 whiting. About 8 tarwine which we threw back, and a lot of bream just under 25 cm and just on which we threw back. To my surprise there was a lot of whiting about, but after hitting the usual spots, the spot that produced the most fish was at the front of the novatel 500m out of the beach, which resulted in a mixture of bream and whiting. A very good day and still plenty of fish about. Cheers Jim Bream
  15. That's good feed you got there were there a lot of snapper around last time i was there up around kurnel they were all over place and you bait disappears quick you have to re bait every minute in order to catch something.
  16. That's an awesome catch what can i say but i hope you saved me one snapper see you soon
  17. Hi ReDeMp yes there was a lot of under size bream but they are hard to pick whether they are bream or tarwine you must look care fully .The reds done a good job on my bait the dredging i believe has had some impact on fishing because the channels are like under water roads cut the roads off what do get stop and think about it for a moment fish go else where they found in different spots they don't no were their going them selfs so you get mixed results in your fishing i find the pattern is changing time will tell cheers Jim bream
  18. reds were every were you go that's why i ran out of bait
  19. just wanted to add the fishing has being fairly good up till now and with out being peek season so i assume things are only going to get better in the up in coming months but im still concerned about the dredging and long term affect it will have on the bay. i was catching more fish consistently when the trawlers were working the bay i think the numbers are down over all and the size of the bream so were have all the fish gone beats me it is getting harder to get a good catch these days but were not going off one day but averages over summer fishing period. cheers Jim bream
  20. Steve any black bream in your catch
  21. The groper does get a F. Yeah there was a few black bream in the catch definitely came out of the river. Just curious to see who else got black bream, might have to ask steve351 to see if he got any. In regards to my pink thongs they've gone missing and i think the groper stole them! Yeah we did get brown weed on our lines, and it seems to be in my favorite spots. Cheers Jim Bream
