  5. Hi raiders its been a long time since i have posted any thing but this one for my mate Basil the invite was there for him to come with me but he couldn't make it next time maybe that was for Saturday but ended up going Sunday early start about 6.00 am we were anchored off Towra 2.5 m of water tried to keep clear of the strong current because we were fishing very light the fish came on at first light 28 in total all the fish were caught on chicken bar the whiting which took the worm. The fish were fat fatter than any time that comes to memory so must thank Tony keflapod for feeding them all season long lol. cheers Jim bream

  7. Hi Tony excellent catch i haven't being fishing since we last talked about 6 weeks or more was very slow as you no but i still managed a good catch disappointing that day considering the last few years up around that time were the bream were bigger and more in numbers i cant put my finger on it but looks like the bream are month late this year for some reason and will really start to pick soon as for doing a donut i would admit it but haven't done one for a very long time as you would say you only fish when the planets are aligned as for my good friend Basil you're a goose. cheers Jim bream

  11. Tony no need to apologize you hit no nerve trust me you still haven't given you number one bait the servo prawn has already mentioned so you have to pick something else come on. one other thing you need to read the posts not count the number of bream caught you mentioned burly and the decision might be altered by the bream not if you're using 3 baits go back and read some of my posts i write on experiencing things and share with every body i get pm all the time and will help anyone who asks for help . cheers Jim bream
  12. Tony Tony Tony the guy is asking for opinion so i gave mine you haven't mine are based on over 35 years of fishing experiences you say ive never fished winter well i have but bream is a summer species and slow up in winter every bait works different to others in certain conditions and areas but i tried to keep it simple not to confuse people and try and make it rocket science when its not i sense you're a little confused . cheers Jim bream
  13. 1. live prawn 2. live blood worm 3. yabbies 4. chicken breast 5. chicken guts 6. small crab 7.forget any other bait or soft plastic
  14. Hi Tony great report again you did tough in those conditions but i find after rain there is always bream to be found its just a matter of hitting the right spot at the right time and that's the thing there were some reports of good catches Sunday so the fish are still in numbers in the bay . cheers Jim bream

  18. Hi raiders long time since i posted anything and wasn't quiet shore if id post this one but what the heck started about 6.30 Sunday morning i tend to go Friday on the Easter break but wanted to keep clear of the full moon so Sunday was the only good day hit mouth of George river for quiet a few bream 24 - 25 cm about 15 of them so in the water they went then came the rays port jackson banjos snappers and all the junk of the bay time came to move for some better fish stubborn that i am i went were i shouldn't wasted good time chasing ghosts so finally the other me says enough back down the bay 1.9m of water and hang on 26 fish in 1 half hours in one spot and every thing was legal this spot i haven't fished for 15 years the fish this time of the year are in the rivers or the lower part of the bay 200 meters from the shore their is no point going to the upper part of the Bay i knew this but still went thinking its December - January anyway some good fish 43cm whiting 37cm bream and some good Flathead. cheers Jim bream

  20. Hi f1shen totally agree with what you have written i would not eat fish out of cooks river but no people who have and being doing it for years and they are still going strong when i was a kid we use to fish the river for fun this was in the late 70s there use to be an old man very cranky that fished the river and caught big numbers he came from the north shore by bus dug his worms one day fished the next there were quite a few old fellas that would fish cooks river but this guy was the best by far don't no what he did with the fish but he would all ways be there ive being told not to eat the fish out of botany bay because it does not fair much better than cooks river one must understand that a bream will enter a lot of rivers in its life time were you catch the bream doesn't necessarily mean that they are clean they enter the river and back out again so the thing is how clean are these fish no body can really tell just don't eat to much of them i suppose or don't eat them at all they would tell us at school how dirty the river was mercury levels and so on that was in the seventy's nothing has changed since then were are the mighty Greens to fix this on going problem.
  21. 100% i no what i saw nets trawler and fish thrown over board
  22. what i saw Friday morning was one big trawler working just as you come out of port hacking its years since ive being out there but memory serving me correct their is a reef as you come out they were working that area for a reason all the fish were coming straight out to the cleaner water but was very dirt close in about 11 i think may be earlier i saw them throwing fish after fish back in the water 100% it was the trawlers but not one but two one appeared later on it threw a large amount of fish as well with all the fresh water they were just waiting in ambush to all the fish coming out of the system its a shame you see this thing but what can you do i wanted to take a photo but to busy with work .
