    Downrigger Bomb

which downrigger did you get , this is what limits the weight you can use i have a scotty strong arm and use a 12pd bomb put that weight on a little downrigger and it will snap it
  4. i saw it being built collects water from the wash down bay and carpark so collects road waste, diesel soot and saltwater let from boats buckets livebait tanks amd whats wind blown onto the site. so unless its regularly emptied and topped up with town water you will have a build up of salt and other nasties as bad as washing your boat in one of those car wash places do a bit of googling fair bit of info on it
  5. you do realise your washing your boats and flushing your engines with recycled water. its not from the mains but surface run off from the parking site and wash down bay your flushing your engine with what is effectively salt water, as the filtration system wasnt the best in the world or maintained that well. its not there to wash your boat, just for a quick flush of the engine and giving the brakes a squirt of fresh water before heading home.
  6. the gal coating is sacrificial, it degrades to protect the trailer if the gal doesnt degrade then your steel will rust remove the sources of corrosion and your gal will last longer moisture salt dissimilar metals ie dont park the boat on the lawn, or under a heavy tarp that makes the enviroment more humid under the trailer

    Floatation

wrap them in plastic of some sort otherwise the foam gets sand and salt water between it and the aluminium get salt etching for the aluminum quite quickly if you dont wash it out thoroughly

    Boat Covers

for the price of a "proper one you can just get the 200 jobbies when on special from your local whatever store, and chuck it every year or so

    Floatation

could also cause it to turn turtle depending on where you fit it whats teh hull designed to do when swamped? some will just fill up and float lvl with the surface,, which is preferable to a bottom full of foam which may turn it upside down and you have nothing to hold onto
  10. your boat will still need servicing every 12 months, unless your currently doing some things yourself ie fuel filter replaced, prop off to check grease shaft etc you just saving a impeller, plugs and sump oil but then have to buy oil the 600 your paying now is not completely avoided by going to the etec have to weigh up a lot of things nearest dealer your willing to use what weight does the boat like on the bum after outright speed or economical cruising etc
  11. if a glass boat with moderate v then no keel rollers i have a 5m cruisecraft and a dunbier trailer no keel rollers at all just 12 wobble rollers in a 3 sets of 4 configuration bring nose in to rear and apply power and it straightens up and then more power and up you go. keel rollers cause too many leaning issues especially if one is right on the rear and the trailer isnt in deep enough
  12. why was the suzuki rebuilt ? nearly no one replaces a crankshaft as it makes the rebuild unviable, ask for a recipt for work done
  13. need it on the car to see where the trailers going, not on the trailer saying im a shit reverser because i need one is a bit high and mighty even though my trailers 6m long i cant see it behind my ute untill its swung too far out either side, even with the tailgate down just for the fact it may save you running a kid over at a ramp makes it a worth while consideration how many times do people just walk behind you while your reversing

    Tinny Help

thats straight off the maritime nsw website and from the licence handbook Power-driven vessels that are powered by an engine with a power rating of 4.0 kilowatts or more(as a guide, 4.0kw is approximately 5hp).

    Tinny Help

licencing from the website The speed at which a boat is driven determines whether a person needs to be licensed. Any person who is the master of a powered vessel operating recreationally on NSW waters at a speed of 10 knots (18.5kph) or more must have a boat driving licence. Ten knots is the speed at which most accelerating boats will start to plane – that is rise up and skim on top of the water instead of ploughing through it. The exception is that anyone who drives a personal watercraft (PWC) at ANY speed must have a PWC Licence. rego from the website A person must be at least 16 years of age to register a vessel in NSW. The following vessels must be registered in NSW when occupying NSW navigable waters: zzAny commercial vessel. zzPower-driven vessels that are powered by an engine with a power rating of 4.0 kilowatts or more (as a guide, 4.0kw is approximately 5hp). zzAny power-driven or sailing vessel of 5.5 metres or longer. zzEvery vessel subject to a mooring licence or marina berth. zzPersonal watercraft (PWC). So a 5hp would need rego
  17. twinfisher, I can bring out a vhs of rex or bushy and show my son and he will learn how to fish for what ever species it is with the others you learn bugger all et is the worst of the lot for bagging competitors products, openly bagging black engines in one episode
  18. more value in 20 year old rex hunt and co tapes then these shows
  19. still have to know what your looking at, if you cant use a 2d a 3d doesn't make it magically 100% better have to practice changing settings to the conditions and understanding what you are seeing
  20. as gazza said if your going to the effort of dismantling the helm for one seal do them all, and worrying about cost in the same sentence as the word boat is hilarious lol ive serviced a ram but helms are another thing send it off to get done , place in South Australia does them fluid is available at chandlery places for $10 per l Gazza cable doesn't compare absolutely no feed back through the wheel, I can let go and will keep tracking straight when trolling for hours no arm soreness from constant corrections more turns lock to lock though
  21. hmmm okay ? I gave a honest answer to your question, what you believe is your prerogative save the pennies and get a a98
  22. I have both a hds7 gen 1 and a 5 inch dragon fly pros clear screen simple to use downscan is awesome cons bracket is a pos I have to turn mine off and on a few times a day when travelling in rough water it loses bottom wouldn't buy again
  23. with the engine trimmed in you push the nose down into the water if something is not square or the hull is out of whack it will accentuate the natural need to push left or right even weight distribution in the boat can make it go one way or the other, or even wind from one side very rarely is a boat dangerous nose down, unless there's something wrong with the hull or engine setup. I can trim mine right in and still do 30 knots
  24. once a week go out to the boat and turn the wheel left right a few times and don't put grease anywhere near the steering cable
  25. Id be willing to show you how to use lures etc in iron cove for flathead and bream. its a bit nasty on loses but can use mine on a replace if lost basis you do need braid again have a spare rod to see if its what you would like to do. need a evening with a rising tide about 8pm
