  4. Hi Everyone , I managed to fish the south coast with Chris and Mick my neighbour who was a total novice to the world of fishing for Kingfish let alone fishing at all . Well it was a bad start to the morning as the gps and sounder were left at home a quick detour back and at least 1 hour was lost . Well we arrived on the water eventually and got some live bait just in case things were quiet . With some livies onboard we set coarse for the kingfish grounds thankgod for electronics i would hate to be fishing landmark style . It was not long and all you could hear was im on and screaming drags . For a first time jigger Mick was sure going well , on second thought it could have been because of his wild woodstock bourban jigging style but it was working . In all it was a top day and the fish were nailing the jigs . Mick with the biggest of the day Chris with his biggest ever on jigs Caught on a 4500 reel light rod. Cheers Dogtooth.... John....
  5. No worries Andy will have to keep an eye on whats happening , Arman will be right just have to lend him a lung each.... Cheers John...

  7. Hi Andy , Sounds like it might have been a solid tuna , unlucky about the hook mate i hate gear failure , Get some forged mustards in there .I hate stainless hooks they bend to easy . I hope you pull a bluefin soon . Next 2 weeks is the go . cheers Dogtooth...... John.....
  8. What a great Darwin report Ray , All those different trips and fish . Fishing the rock ledges looking for rogue waves will never be the same after fishing in muddy creeks looking for logs , I mean crocs . Cheers Dogtooth...... John....
  9. Great effort on the light tackle , even waiting to wash him up the ledge would have been a struggle . Sensational capture. Cheers Dogtooth.... John....
  10. The king decided to wipe himself out into gunnel of the boat , snapping a knife in the knife holder... Rod in the background is a oceano 4500j on a xzoga 5616 rod . mate the real in the backround is a oceano 4500j probably caught 40 kings and still going good , Both fish in the pictures were caught with a 1800f saragoosa and shimano bluerose rod . We were fishing Jervis Bay....
  11. Hi Everyone , Managed to organise a day on the water with ( Fishbones , Jim77 , and Chris ) Conditions were perfect so we went in search for some kings . We managed a few fish on the jigs but all the better fish were taken on livies , Chris was first to hookup on a livie and managed a fish right on a Metre im sure guys could hear him yelling in sydney , his next drop he managed a fish that went 110 cm the greenhorn did well on some heavy drag and wasn't he happy.... . As always leatherjackets stole some jigs and even chewed on your knots whist connected to some solid fish . 10 kg king 100 cm 13 kg king 110 cm ( greenhorn goes the upgrade ) Cheers Dogtooth....... John....

  13. My boat was originally set up with an inboard diesel 6 cylinder , it now has a new transom a will be powered by a single outboard . Most of the offshore boats that i used to see running around had inboards. cheers Dogtooth.... John....
  14. Hi Wen , They were built on the North shore , Tough solid boats , Dry riding . I have a 7.5 metre which is an ongoing project . Cheers Dogtooth.... John....
  15. HAPPY BIRTHDAY . Hope you have a top day. Cheers John...
  16. Invest in a GPS before heading offshore , If your broken down how are you going to tell coastguard or water police where you are . A GPS is as important as a sounder without them its hard to put yourself on fish. Current was not to bad as the wind was from the south holding you up. Only lost one Jig to leatherjackets , Guys using livies were getting there livies hammered so the LJ's were there. Cheers Dogtooth...... John....
  17. Hi Everyone , Managed to get out today to get my jigging fix and it was good to see a couple of kings . Biggest fish was mid 90s but it looks like it might be a good season this year . Also good to see a couple of fellow raiders out on the water braving the conditions . Cheers Dogtooth...... John...
  18. Hi TDH , I am gueesing your pajero is a 2.6 l petrol if it is , most of the guys upgrade to a 32 / 36 webber carb and get an adapter plate . EPREY has some adapter plates you just need to source a good 32 / 36 webber either new or second hand . Most report better fuel economy and more power . Webber only has one mixture screw and one idle screw so simple . Easy install too. cheers Dogtooth.... John....
  19. Buckled rods and screamin reels in the Harbour ..... Well done on the Jews Pete. Cheers Dogtooth.... John......

  23. Hi Everyone , Jigged of Sydney and got stuck into a couple of kings biggest fish was 96 cms , BEWARE there are lots of jig stealing braid eating Leatherjackets ... so take plenty of jigs . I managed to christen my new jigging outfit which is a Light xzoga jigging rod matched to a 4500 size reel , really light and you can jig with it all day . Sure beats jigging with the bigger reels espeacialy when its quiet . Cheers Dogtooth..... John.....
  24. Hi Everyone , All my expired flares are put into the same container as New ones , But the New flares are in a sealed bag to tell the difference .
