  1. Sounds like a great night. Good job boys.
  2. Hi, Was told that these rigs were for king George whiting. The only way to really know is try them I guess. Considered trying them myself but opted to stick with the "keep it simple stupid" theory. Pete.
  3. Hey Tony, Just pillies and squid.
  4. Hey mate, Congrats on the PB. Thanks for the mention in the post. All I did was put you in the right area..... You did well to get the fish, especially on your first attempt. Just goes to show that a good fisho can catch anything if he puts his mind to it. Don't worry, you'll get your chance to return the favour. Next time we're both down there if you find the fish first, I expect a phone call. Pete
  5. Sounds like a top nights fishing. Good job on the post scratchie!
  6. Lol..... I didn't mean it that way. We did well considering it was a quiet day. We worked hard for the 10. There are days when they are on the chew and a lot easier to find. Pete
  7. No probs boys. It was a quiet day in general, in my opinion. We had to cover a lot of ground before finding a nice patch of fish. Glad to hear you got a couple also. Pete.
  8. Cheers, see you down there.
  9. Hi Dave, I have the same sounder and it is good for about 180-200m. Try slowing the scroll speed down that may help. It's hard to say but the best thing to do is try different things by changing settings manually rather than it being in auto mode. Also try and set the depth range manually...... and with the bottom lock on. Pete
  10. Anytime Mick. Good job getting it to the boat. I'm glad all the hours i put in on these cold mornings got one of us a p.b........ And yes I was wondering if you could swim. Johno, You know you've got a serious problem when a 63cm snapper doesn't put a smile on your face anymore.......
  11. Solid reds well done!! How did you get past the jacket plague?? We were down there also and lost enough gear to make the local tackle shop owner smile for a week. We got one good one, around the 3kg mark. I hope the jackets disappear as quickly as they turned up, otherwise they could ruin what's looking like being a pretty good season. Pete.
  12. Dont worry mate, we'll get some reds on the weekend to make you feel better. Pete.
  13. Lol. I cruised up the George's sunday and saw tinny near baldface. Was that you? What time were you there?

    The Hump

G'day, I would have taken you up on that offer but got on the cans, sitting by the pool all arvo after deciding not to go tomorrow. Don't much like boating after having a few . Pete

    The Hump

G'day, Haven't been down for a couple weeks. The last 3 trips we averaged 10 fish per trip between 1.5 - 4kg. Mid to late sept early oct. The fish are there, you just need to find them. Don't completely agree with the pro's comments. Maybe he had a bad run this year..... It happens to everyone. Was considering a run down on Sunday but not sure about the weather and my crew are being difficult. Worth a look if the weather turns out ok. We're you considering a trip down?
  16. Maybe I should have mentioned that we caught a few mac tuna aswell as the 6 striped tuna. So i dont disagree with anybody. It could have been either or both that you saw.
  17. Most probably stripies. We had some fun on a few out there last week while on a snapper run. We got 6 stripies between 3-5 kg before leaving them and going back to the reds. Managed half a dozen reds to 3.5kg also.
  18. Was a sand whiting, it was also mentioned in the daily tele fishing reports. I believe it coz my Pb whiting is also 55cm, caught in lake Illawarra on a live prawn.
  19. There was a 55cm whiting caught in the hacking last week. 40+ cm whiting are very common in the Georges in winter. There are a few locals who consistantly get their bag limit of whiting between 40-50cm and even some monsters over a kilo.
  20. Good to see you boys are consistently pulling nice Jews. Good job.
  21. Awesome catch mate!!!! Great effort on such light gear!!! Would have had you beaten a few times before finally hitting the deck
  22. Gday Tony, great read mate and still not a bad feed, I agree with yowie, definately some big tailor in the bay at the moment as we caught half a tailor that measured 32cm(estimated 60+cm) And i believe it was eaten by a bigger tailor.
  23. You could always try installing a stingray type wing first if you don't already have one. I think it makes a huge difference and it's a cheap and easy thing to try first before forking out $$$ for a bigger motor.
