  3. as all the other posts have said its feeling you will get used to you will know your limits believe me with my boat trimmed in it screams along bow just out of the water prop just in but becareful trimming up to much under heavy revs as you have not much play and will tip boat its a balancing act give it a go and enjoy ur boat ..........
  4. i ve had same problem with trailer plugs sometimes they need a little prying open in the pins to get a good connection mine is like that it just needs a little tickle and shes firing as for driving without lights dont take the risk unless you wont your motor moved permanantly to a inboard theirs enough a thought for those who risk such a thing......ive only ever once rewired the whole trailer and its a shit of a job
  5. sure can mate flat stick fishing charters depart nelsons bay marina i went jewie bashing with him he was good we got a few jews he was a good skipper too always trying his spots they worked for me the next day i went out in my boat and land my self a nice feed from spots he showed me
  6. anyway changa i take my hat off to you and all your helpers mate what a massive job it must be to organize i can tell you everyone enjoys themselves at the comp and if it wasnt for people like urself and your helpers no one would have a casual comp to fish in november and those little kids would go without the much needed money they require to continue their lives three cheers for you mate and that beer will happen and its on me........
  7. spit bridge always holds yellow tail and squid if u persist
  8. yes mick i do too but when your doing 25knots 100 mtrs is bugger all considering the waves you make from wash....

  12. hi to all i headed out friday nite to the hawkesbury to meet up with a mate who was already their. after fishing all friday nite and crabbing at the same time with very little shut eye thru the nite by the time sun come up my mate and i were ready for the run out tide to begin. Before we were ready to fish my mate had boiled up a coffee for me so i motored over to him and we tied up along side each other for a coffee. While we were having our coffee we noticed a boat coming at us at a fast pace (by this stage my friend and i were ready for a sinker attack just kidding ) then with a little over 100mtrs off my bow he decides to back the boat off.As im gazing at him with burning eyes he approachs me and declares him self as fisheries officer and asks my mate and me if we had lost an anchor because we were tied together i explained to him we were havin a coffee as our boats are SMASHING THEM SELVES TOGETHER FROM HIS WASH and then he tells me he wants to tie up to my other side TO CHECK MY ESKY ....AND SMASH UP THE OTHER SIDE OF MY BOAT ......I EXPLAINED TO HIM very politely HA.HA.HA. that they way he approached us was a joke and he should have more cosideration as to his methods he uses to do such the river was at its most calmest part of the day 6am it was like a lake no one around yet when he approachED me the waves were heavy heavy i complied and showed him some crabs i had all were quiet good size and he checked my licence from A DISTANCE THERE WAS NO WAY HE WAS TYING UP TO ME ...AND THEN TO TOP IT ALL OFF AFTER HAVIN WORDS TO HIM ABOUT HIS APPROACH YOU SHOULD OF SEEN HIS TAKE OFF IT WAS THE SAME AS HIS APPROACH NO BRAINS AT ALL NEXT TIME I WONT BE SO NICE TO HIM I VALUE MY BOAT VERY VERY VERY MUCH AND LOOK AFTER IT.. TO THAT FISHERIES BLOKE YOU ARE A D*** WITH NO BRAINS MAYBE YOU SHOULD NOT DRIVE BOATS AND MAYBE A ......UM.....UM.DRIVE ....A DESK....BY THE WAY THE CREEPER MIGHT BE MISSIN PAINT BUT SHES STILL CATCHN FISH...HA HA
  13. you wanted some pics heres three first one went 32kg and second went 35kg last one 29kg all were records for us one was moulded as photo on my posts showed a few weeks back and the others were eaten all fish were in the esky straight away and kept their for approx 8hrs overnite till we pulled boat out next morning and then straight to the co-op for the AUTHENTIC FISH WEIGHT THIS WAY THERES NO STORIES THE BULLSHIT STOPS ONCE THE SCALES REGISTER....i ve heard all the stories of fish weights especially when your gutting one at the ramp ..ive only ever seen one jew hit the 40kg mark caught last year and it was the biggest fish ive ever seen caught in the hawkesbury have caught a few around the mid 20s but these three remain favorites ......
  14. hi to all before i venture out pricing motors just thought id see if any one has a idea of price on the new suzuki 4strokes i have a 2002 mercury 75 shes like new it has 180hrs and since i had it shes had only little things go wrong not major i bought it new but as times are changing im tending to like the four strokes better just thought id see if anyone has bought one in this hp range .....and see what they are going for ....

  16. hi all as the tides were big on fri and sat the normal fishn plans were altered for a change for the first time i took crab traps with me 5 witchs hats which i made my self all to legal specs i set all my traps down and my mate too we checked them every 3hrs or so with an end result of 24crabs over 12hrs between my mate and me the current was going to rip thru the place for the nite with 2mtr tides when i left at about 8.30 water was already lapping the road at parsley bay so not the ideal nite for the jew bash we normally have any how it was good to do something different will try it again soon ......plus it lets them jewies beef up 4 next weekend haha ...
  17. with wheels like that long reef and lots of burley ............
  18. all it comes down is patience and a bit of knowledge i too have come home many a time with zippo ...its a hard old slog i can tell you fishing all day and nite and not turn a reel i usually fish 3 tides at different spots and no i was not at juno pt on friday i find that spot ok but usually only good for one big fish a tide and its called the carpark not juno pt ...ha ha..my mate glenn is the one nailing them hes done very well for him self on ya glenny ..... just on 4yrs ago i never thought id catch jewies the size i have but the size of the big ones that are out their still swimming around enspire me to keep trying ..ans so shall you all....it wont happen over nite but it will happen ..
  19. hi all my mate glenn and my self took off for our friday ritual the hawkesbury jew bash. as i put the boat in around 5pm i noticed the ramp at brooklyn empty except for 2 cars parked next to me .i always love it when no ones around up there as you dont often get the place to your selves but we had it ...we left the ramp for our spot soon we arrived and baited up and waited for the hit to happen sure enough 3hrs later theres a beautiful 15kg jew in the boat we had a great nite out there. It was freezing even with the old gas heater on no sleep until 5am saturday i was stuffed we headed back in to a beach on the way in and had a barbie breakfast thanks glenn those eggs were beautiful hopefully the weather will stay fine for friday as im havin a sickeee to get my fix tight lines to all cya out there.............. EDIT: Sorry mate. I was getting a sore neck looking at your Jew, so I straightened her up!

  21. hi to all i was talking to a friend and we got talking about how much bait we use during fishing trips for instance i usually go on friday nite for a jew bash and return sat arvo usually by lunch i like to fish 3 tides if possible.. i fish four rods at a time i take with me my 2kg fresh squid most times 3kg or so of fish baits dead and a bait jig to catch some liveys whilst up their and some berley i find that enough but my mate tells me of blokes he knows that go thru as much as 5kg of squid and the same in fish baits in two tides ....everyone would be different depending what you target whats your view ...............
