  1. Should be good over the next few weeks for the jew fishos up that way....
  2. Mate I think you'll find for the most part people just keep quiet about what goes on up there... There's plenty of fish in pitty and always squid lurking about... Cheers Tony
  3. That's another great mulloway matey... You're way ahead of a lot of older guys, me included Cheers Tony
  4. Maybe you just answered your own question Harry You CAN'T justify it, so its a case of if you can afford the top of the line gear and it's what you really want then go for it. Cheers Tony
  5. Balmoral island, Clifton Gardens north drum, Old Man's Hat and Flint and Steel have all swallowed anchors on boats I've been on. That's a lot of anchors. Cheers Tony
  6. Agreed! Welcome to the site mate... Nice first post... Cheers Tony
  7. No worries mate.. I chucked it up on calaisturbo.com.au for you, hopefully someone knows where it is. Fingers crossed it's still in one piece. Apparently another VL got knocked off in Sydney last night as well....these dogs don't deserve to live. Cheers, Tony
  8. Argh that sucks squidboy...sorry to hear mate, I'm a VL fanatic and unfortunately they do go missing all too often... I'll throw a post up on the VL forums for you, someone might know something about it. Turbo, 6 or 8? What wheels are on it? Any identifying features? I'll keep an eye out for it. Cheers Tony
  9. That's awesome. Be sure to keep updating the thread as the work progresses, I love this kinda thing. Cheers Tony
  10. I nearly fell over when I saw the price of that stuff... It does look like a quality product though. I have YGK Nitlon PE in 50lb on one of my reels and it is very good from my experience with it so far, and no where near the cost of the Jigman stuff, albeit it's only one colour rather than changing. I guess that's more relevant if you're jigging. Cheers Tony
  11. Good report as usual Peter and some very nice pics... Cheers Tony
  12. Roberta is it just me or does that letter make-a-no-sense? They say they are banning fishing from the beach because they're worried about people hurting themselves on fish hooks... Then they say that fishing from the wharf is still allowed, despite then admitting straight after that the only reports of anyone hurting themselves is from people standing on fish hooks on the wharf, not the beach.... HUH? Freakin' idiots in council everywhere, the North Shore of Sydney, it seems, is an apparent hot-spot for these clowns. Cheers Tony
  13. What a top post! Pacemode I imagine the dinners at your place for the next little while will be sensational! Great effort mate and you're obviously rewarded for the hours you put in. Cheers Tony
  14. Nice pair there mate Good report too. Cheers Tony
  15. Very good report Dave... Entertaining read and a nice fish by the sounds of it. Cheers Tony
  16. Chicken breast with parmesan and oyster sauce?!? Gourmet bait right there mate. If it works, you can't argue with it! Nice bream too, when they get up around the 40cm mark they give a bit of a tussle. Cheers Tony
  17. Great jewies mate! Gotta be happy with that. The tail certainly does look pretty strange on that one. Cheers Tony
  18. Spot on. I would love to patronise the local tackle shops but when you can save hundreds of dollars and get the latest models how can you compare? I'm not prepared to buy reels in Australia anymore because I simply can't justify spending more money for a lesser product. I don't know the answer but something has to change if conventional tackle shops are to survive. Cheers Tony
  19. Poor bugger I hope he turns up alive but it doesn't sound good at this stage... My thoughts are with his family. Tony
  20. Nice fish lads and a good report. Cheers Tony
  21. Awesome report Nexus... Your little girl looks over the moon in that last pic. Cheers Tony
  22. BUGGER. That sucks Steve Ah well time to stock up again! Cheers Tony
  23. I'm sure a shark wouldn't knock back a big slab of fresh salmon either Zenman nailed a beach jew on a salmon fillet a few years ago too. Anything's possible mate. Cheers Tony
  24. What you've done sounds fine mate. The only thing I would suggest is if you have a bucket of water handy then it's ideal for sticking the fish in once you've cut its throat rather than sand, and I would be trying to get it on ice asap, especially with Aussie Salmon. This can make all the difference with a lot of fish. Cheers Tony
  25. Good report Steve... Sorry I didn't make it mate, I didn't end up leaving QH til after 10 and I was buggered from working all day. We'll catch up soon. Cheers Tony
