  2. yep me to i keep all my remaining gulps in a waterproof container [ planno make these] with gulp alive juice . i also have a problem with gulp comming out of the pack all twisted and unusable ..... this is why im going back to squidgies . i know the juice smells but its not as bad as pilchard juice ............ craig
  3. I 2 am no expert but i always seem to manage a good feed of flathead . the way i fish for them from the yak is i simply put on a 3 or 4 inch plastic ie gulp minnow - squidgy wrigler. i then just cast it out and stick it in a rod holder and then as im drifting i flick around with another rod chaseing bream or whatever. i always pickup a flathead on the drift . works for me craig
  4. Yeah that 200klm walk can be a killer as well craig
  5. i want to go for a quick beach fish tomorrow night .thinking curl curl ?????? anyone know how the northern beaches is fishing at the moment . craig
  6. if you are useing very light weight jig heads go down to 2 lb or 3lb crystal fire line with a GOOD quality fluro [ i use sunline rock ] u will cast further u will catch more fish [ and loose more ] 2lb crystal breaks at around 4- 5 lb so it is plenty strong enough . if u are fishing these light jigheads u really should fish ultra light lines to compliment the sp,s . i have a 1-3kg bekley dropshot and i run 2 ld fluro straight through and 2 lb crystal and i love the outfit. craig
  7. surely lures should be able to take being left in the sun !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i mean u pay enough for them so ide be taking them back to where u bought them and ask for new ones ! what next fishing rods that fall to bits because they have water on them . craig
  8. i agree but will add use as light as line [ fluro ] as u can get away with , smaller wrigglers are good also [ bloodworm my best as well ] and eco gear sx40s . these are small suspending type minows and bream LOVE them . good luck craig

  15. and people think yako,s are crazy for fishing on yaks when there in a shark enviroment ............ WELL how do u explain this guy swimming next to this shark ??????????????????????????????? at any time the shark could have turned and done some sereous damage nuts craig
  16. Thats the way and a nice yak 2 boot c ya at balmoral craig
  17. Yeah i dont fish there because i do not feel comfortable about being out there . most of the guys that fish out there are expirenced and well equiped and confadent . they dont fish alone [ 15 out yesturday ] they have shark shields pfd,s flairs , and all safety equipment that is required by law ,they access wether to go out or not and weigh up the risk .for them they accept the risk . acording to statistics there is more chance of getting killed driving to longo than there is of fishing longo . more surfers and divers have been attacked over the years yet no one says oh dont go surfing or diving . i actually think there is more risk of getting run over by a boat than there is of getting taken by a shark which is the main reason i dont go off shore . any way c u ya on the water craig
  18. Mates where fishing in yaks of longo this morning and u guessed it a 5 mtr gws was swimming around ...... i reakon its the same shark as last year ................................... craig
  19. guys i fish balmoral ALL the time . i am on a kayak the wharf alway has people trying to fish in the best position . it often gets sholder to sholder and i do not really see alot of fish come in ................................................................................................ as i said im on a kayak so i dont get that i only get bad atitude from some fishos when im setting up . i catch good fish ... i dont get haslled on the water .... i can usually fish the areas land fishos are trying to cast to . i was fishing around the wharf this mornning and i saw nothing but yellow tail landed . i on the other hand caught a salmon - a big travelly - 2 nice snapper - a bream as well as variouse throw back fish . i can chase the schools of palagics that come in as well as fish the hulls of boats for bream with ease . dont know what im trying to say . my wife says im bragging i just think this area iis so much more suited to yak fishin or boat fish than being land locked . craig
