  1. Three great little tips there bluebottle18 especially the idea about putting the old boat fuel in your car after every trip out ..boat fuel maintenance for freshness is of the upmost importance and sadly neglected often at the expense of a trouble free trip once you are out on the water...You must have been blessed getting a hold of a food processor that took to your eye in a charity shop for your burley supply as a good quality food processor usually costs an arm and a leg to buy a new one... Cheers mate jewgaffer
  2. Hi checch it does look like a bream in the pic but the stumpy nose gives it away Cheers jewgaffer
  3. Nice little story fishon nice little fellow too, my grandson littlejewgaffer started off around the same age fish for bass around Cobbity and Penrith.. he's thirteen now and into other little interests of his own for the moment, all part of growing up but hopefully he'll volunteer to travel away with his pa again in the coming future... time gets on pretty quick as the kids grow and I wish I had spent more time with my own kids when they were little instead of spending as much time as I did with my mates.. Cheers jewgaffer
  4. Thanks David, swampy wolf & Rick from up there at Bowraville, both of these sites look reliable so they're now on my desk top for future comparison when fishing around mouth areas and particularly when intending to head outside and fish in close at night.. Cheers jewgaffer
  5. As far as eating moray eels out of anywhere goes you may as well collect a few mushrooms and simply add the mushrooms to a boiled up cow pad for your stock.. Cheers jewgaffer
  6. I think jew chaser would be very impressed with the Sea Jay 435's Tuffy if he goes up a cog and goes for one of their wide bodied Magnums, either way he'll get a lot more boat for the money compared with the others, that's for sure. Cheers jewgaffer
  7. I'll vote for the wide body Sea Jay jew chaser Cheers jewgaffer
  8. Good little story Grahame, the young bloke's always going to remember that jew and he's going to love to see another rainbow come up and lay on it's side at the side of dad's boat Cheers jewgaffer
  9. Nice flathead Marcel, you've come right in to 6/4 Cheers jewgaffer
  10. Nice little family outing on the Hawkwsbury funnierthanu and a good bag of take homes too not sure where you mean by dangar shoals.. are they where the submerged rocks are in close up in the gully on the northern side out of the current between the old and new the leases are they? that area drops down deep pretty quickly and is quite a good part of the river to fish in general when it's firing Cheers jewgaffer
  11. Top photography Peter those dolphins are man's best friend out there in the ocean I reckon... Cheers jewgaffer
  12. An absolutely fabulous prize to win Roberta nice colour in white too ay... are you going to set it up the way you want it and use it yourself and keep the old yak as a spare and for Keith to use are you, if so a new look from now on will be just about all you'll need to take you from strength to strength in the yak tournaments I'll bet Cheers jewgaffer
  13. After that effort I'd be getting Gary to change a light globe Cheers jewgaffer
  14. Awesome Tarwhine at 42cms luderick59 I'll bet that big fella took you by surprise when it woke up and took off on the light gear Peter Tarwhine are particularly nice eating especially around that size Pete and I think the boys who fish Avoca should give the lagoon a go if they open it up and get their share of Tarwhine too Cheers Peter Byron
  15. Bart would look very professional on a high speed surfboard Cheers jewgaffer
  16. I'm really sorry to hear this Tuffy and I'm relieved to hear that the damage to your boat wasn't far more serious... still you're going to be out of pocket and inconvenienced here as there'll be some running around to do with the repairs as well....these things can happen to a car that's parked anywhere these days but you're better off with no damage at all to a boat that's properly parked in front of your home and it's always the cost of paying the excess that inhibits an innocent victim from making a claim... A not so cheery jewgaffer
  17. Hi Stacer560, Steber Craft were always a good seller and a very well boat made boat indeed...I've just had my 1996 35hp 3 cyl Evinrude Elan model taken off my boat and updated the power to a brand new 60hp motor up at Huey's at Cowan...Being one of if not the smallest fibre glass boat in Steber's range, I think a 35hp would be close enough to perfect for it, you wouldn't need a fifty on a 4.0m boat I wouldn't think anyway...If you're friend's interested in having a look at my old motor give Huett Marine a call as a motor in the condition this one's in would certainly sell quickly and you'd have forward controls and guages as well.. Cheers jewgaffer
  18. Nice effort Chris, they're very tasty looking blackfish too, yummy Cheers jewgaffer
  19. Just thinking Jenno unless we were right at that little reef and anchored spot on we would have had nothing much to show on the drift either around Shark Island, Osbourne Shoals or Boat Harbour either, to do any good we would have had to chuck a U turn and fish in reasonably close around the National Park side .. Cheers jewgaffer
  20. Well done on the Blackfish Basil In case you're still pondering about them they don't have poisonous fangs or anything like that and you'll find they'll come up quite well when they're cooked but they're not so good when they're not.. Cheers jewgaffer
  21. Bergo, I forgot to mention, in case that big jew doesn't comes along as expected, you'll have to move around a bit otherwise they're likely to find you upright in your chair with hardly a pulse and icicles growing off your beard. Cheers jewgaffer
  22. Nice little bream session fish53 the bream in the bottom photo is a healthy looking fish, it would go down well with a blue swimmer crab on the side and a nice glass of ale with a dash of lemon and top the day off with a havana cigar Cheers jewgaffer
  23. Good effort on the jewfish Bergo that big jew will come along when you least expect it and in the same spot too Cheers jewgaffer
  24. Peter I might add that we ran a couple of live Watson's Flying Bonito well back from the kingfish boil up on my big Daiwa 600 overhead and the new Fin Nor 950 for over three hours and never got a touch, but like we talked about before you have to be in it to win it and who's not to say that a sudden burst of hot water might come thru on the day bringing in species with it that meerely regard the likes of bonito and striped tuna as baitfish.... Cheers jewgaffer
  25. Good on you Quaddy you should have piped up..I think I know this Simon there's only room for two up the front and from there it's Indian file with only opportunities for squidders at the sides and they do well on both fronts on the wildest of nights if that rings a bell..give us a call quaddy 0413210048 Cheers Byron
