  6. I wouldn't bother looking at changing channels, the 27mhz are cheap, Uniden or Axis do a 10 channel unit, not sure what channels it has though, l just refused to sell them due to my own ethics, happy to get you a few prices though. Incidentally I recently had a chat with a marine rescue officer, basically they will monitor 27mhz unofficially for years to come, as I suspected due to duty of care etc. but he did believe that the government was going to legislate that 27Mhz cannot be sold shortly (this year), I have not been advised this yet by GME, so am not aware Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  7. Got a 36 Riv, currently sitting in Adelaide...... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  8. I would run with 2 x N70's, We have a pair of Deep Cycle N70's on the shelf at present, Adrian will do you a great deal on one of those, I would match it with a N70 start battery. Would also be doing away with the 1 - 2 - BOTH battery switch and running 2 Battery switches. 1 for the start and 1 for the house. Run the motor off the start and everything else off the house Deep Cycle. BEP do a bank of switches, Start, House, Emergency Parralled and Smart Charge Relay. It is my personal preference on how to set up dual batteries. We can supply that and would even cut and crimp battery leads to size. We have just finished setting Adrian's Boat up exactly this way, have a chat to him. Roadrunner 9607 5774 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  9. I can't remember, but the biggest issue was the calipers, the slides had seized, so basically once the brakes are applied, the calipers either didn't release or they kept enough pressure applied to prematurely wear the pads and discs out and overheat everything whilst towing. 11. I totally rebuilt a mates last year, the hydrostar was only 12 months old. The calipers were crap, the trailer company that supplied and fitted it all, did one of the roughest bodgey jobs on the lines and the calipers I have ever seen. I ended up fitting new discs, calipers and brake lines. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

  15. That's the main reason I think you will find why the ADR's don't allow it. We fitted a 1200mm one on Adrian's ute, purely as it was a unit we were testing. He commented exactly the same issue yesterday. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  16. 4myson, that is really neat. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  17. to dispose of an old EPIRB, you need to disconnect the battery, so it cant accidentally go off. What i did with ours, undo the top, cut the wires to the battery, threw it out in 2 pieces. There is an agreement with one of the Battery Chain stores to drop the units off. However my understanding is they charge you now for that service Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  18. Well done Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  19. we will happily sell you driving lights and light bars, just landed some nice units, we will support Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  20. There is I believe some issues with the antiquated ADR's on driving lights. 1) lights are meant to be split not one beam 2) if you check with the ADR, I think you will also find a minimum and maximum height from the ground, as such lights on top of roll cages etc have never really been legal. I also from memory think that lights are not allowed to be mounted behind the driver. You will realise by this, that most installations do not comply. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    27Mhz

You can get a 27mhz cheaply........I think I have a 27Mhz aerial here 2nd hand off my boat, I'd give away...........I refused to sell 27Mhz from one of our suppliers, they set up our marine stereo display which included 4 x 27mhz for stock, I mad them take them back and change the one in the display cabinet for VHF, they do a 10 channel 27mhz, it goes for around the $100 or a little under.......... I had a discussion with one of the Marine Rescue Guys a couple of weeks back, as I suspected they will not stop monitoring 27mhz, though the official line is they will not be monitoring Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  23. Ok, received a wholesale trade magazine today, and saw that Narva have release these nuts, I am presuming it is 2 nuts and the adaptor per Blister pack, as they are designed to secure driving lights. They are Stainless steel, metric thread, available in M6, M8, M10 & M12. May suit your purpose. http://www.narva.com.au/products/browse/accessories-spares Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  24. The other way is a cable and a padlock, it also adds the security of tethering it to the boat,......should it come loose Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
  25. I have learnt over the years, that unfortunately all these precautions and security measures we all take (me included) only stop the 'Honest' thieves... Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
